Ok so this place is really nice looking and really clean. Youre supposed to be a resident or pay if youre not. They say that they have authorities come to check if youre a resident or not. It was pretty empty when we went there. A whole big beach just sitting there. They are in the process of rebuilding/ repairing the beach/ area. HOWEVER, THEY DO NOT ALLOW PETS!
This is really amazing beach in Lake Forest. And there sunset here are just amazing when you get here at the right time. I would definitely recommend to come here and spend few hours under the Sun.
I found out that Forest Park beach went from charging $15/weekends to $25/every day. It doesn’t seem very inclusive to do this. We are a neighboring community that has several homes with Lake Forest addresses as well. I have 3 children. We enjoyed going to the beach on a weekday when little to no people are there and you are now charging me $100 to go to the beach for an hour?? We live 15 minutes away! Why make it so expensive for neighboring communities to enjoy some time on the beach? This makes me so disappointed. The parking situation already made non residents walk two miles to get to the beach and back. This change speaks volumes on the values your community upholds and it’s sad and disappointing to see this.
Not available parking for visitors, we had to walk over a mile to find parking. Charge to]poo[[[ get in to the beach was $20 per person, would paid the entry but they made me walk for over a mile no tanks
It used to open for all. Now it’s getting privatized.. charging $25 each for nonresidents.. parking not available for non residents..
If you live in Lake Forest, then Forest Park is a great place to go and hang out.
I went to the beach today for the fist time in this season, and with big disappointed l discovered they have increased the daily price up to 25$ !!!
$25.00 per person for non-residents. Gotta keep out the low-class riff-raff, eh, Lake Forest?
They dont care, take advantage of people who dont have beach close by
Best beach in the state.
We came here with my husband on weekend without knowing that there is a charge of $15 for each one for non residents of this neighborhood. We came here once during the weekday and it was no charge. Since we already took Uber and waisted time on coming here we paid $30 for nothing. You bring your own umbrella and chairs. They don’t provide anything. At least for this money they could keep beach clean. Nope! Bird feather and poop all over. They don’t bother to clean even seaweed. A lot of mosquitoes and bags. This place is not worth the money. We have nicer and cleaner beach next to us, also cheaper. Parking available only for residents.
Stopped in the parking lot for 5 minutes and got parking ticket
Its a nice spot. But $15 for nonresidents on weekends and holidays.. lol. Basically, saying if you arent rich enough to buy a property here you cant come on your time off. They should be charged to access Riverwalk downtown, access Pier, .... never coming over on weekdays either.
This is a beautiful park. Of course the views of Lake Michigan are fantastic and amazing. But what says this park apart from most others are the trails. The stone trails are awesome, basically perfect. Its a bit hidden, not the easiest to find or to find parking, but its just a beautiful park.
Not worth it. $15 for what exactly? It’s so small, the layout is very weird, the ‘sand/beach’ is not clean and is unkept. A lot of bugs. Playgrounds and like 8 life guard stands all down the .3 mile ‘beach’. There were so many rules for no reason and we couldn’t even swim. Don’t recommend. Even if I was a resident, I wouldn’t go there
Love running here. Beautiful views
This place is a true gem. What a beautiful locale with some truly great features!
Facility is good but their policies are bad...They were not even allowing drop off and pick up from downstairs parking lot..Had to argue a lot with the guy and then only he checked with his manager and let us pick up my family...And he was expecting 60yr lady to climb 100 steps....Ridiculous...Staff need better training...
Beautiful scenery and peaceful Such clear water and oh so cold on the bare toes
Great view great vives! Just amazing
Unfortunately, you should know this is not the beach then everyone can go. Specjila membership, or pass. No parking.
Very nice lake spot Just outside chicago
One of the most beautiful places around. Live it!
Dont waste your time. Available parking is for residents only, and we were informed we could only park at the train station, no matter that we had elderly folks and someone who is recovering from surgery and cant bare weight very long. Sent us up to Sunset beach. Dont waste your time there either.
For years, this has always been my favorite park on Chicagos lakefront, especially during fall colors and even during winter for a brisk hike along the switchbacks. If youre not a Lake Forest resident (with the windshield sticker) its worth the gamble of a parking ticket from LFPD and/or think creatively about how to enjoy the park without having to access it by car.
It is so beautiful, but now it is under construction.
Its a shame you follow google maps on a 25 mile ride and in the middle of it is some snobby private beach where they wont let you thru on the 4th of July. I would give it 0 stars if I could.
Beautiful place to swim and hangout.
Stunning beach on the North Shore the view is spectacular! A Monday evening is the perfect time quiet and people back to work. Enjoy!
Gorgeous beyond words...and disagree about snobbish LF people. I have found the town, the schools, and beach super friendly and so many residents are willing to help!
Very scenic
This beach is a rip-off. No parking, only for residents. Public place should be public, not like this place.
Lovely little private cove beaches. No charge because it was a week day!
A nice park with a great boardwalk through the woods that leads to the beach
We drove there on a hot day off season. The parking lot was open. There was no indication that you needed a permit to park. Still were fined $125. Seems like an effort to keep the park available only to the rich and uptight residents of Lake Forest.
Its a beautiful park, and exceptionally scenic, but I really hate the fact that so few people get to see it, because the city is too greedy and selfish.
Beautiful beach with a breathtaking view of Lake Michigan!
Gorgeous beach, clean facilities and lifeguards during season... I enjoy bringing my kayak here and see others sail, launch boats, paddle board, jet ski.
Beautiful place
A beautiful park, but gives the impression that it is exclusively only for the residents of Lake Forest.
Theres a forest and a park, whats not to like.
$10 to get in on weekendsParking only available for residents. However if you park in the downtown area and walk it is worth it. Clean and relaxing beach
Nice place but only for residents other people have to park their car on Metra Station and have to walk about 1 mile to reach to the park and there is 10$ fee to enter beach.
Great beach. Non-Lake Forest residents need to pay $10 per person on weekends and holidays though. Non residents cannot park by the beach any day, so must drop off family/friends at the top of the hill with wooden stairs down to the beach (on Spring Lane) and then park near the Metra station about a mile due west.
What a peaceful and wonderful spot. My family has generations of history in this town and so it warms my heart to see this
What a gem! Great place to take the family and the lake views are incredible.
Lovely
Love the beach. Its great for kids. Has 3 playset areas and swings.
Best Beach in IL Clean water, fine sand, nicely decorated with rocks, creating 3 private small beaches, great for a date on full moon, the moon shines right over the water creating a romantic glittery, gleaming reflection on the waterI give it 5 stars
Fantastic place but you need to be a Lake Forest resident to enjoy it during the season.
Beautiful place, a bit cold and snowy.
Clean facilities, beautiful beach, and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!
This place is nice, but.... Full of snobby rich people/employees. They had a very condescending attitude twords me when I went there. Dont bring your dog either.
Beautiful place to hang out on Lake Michigan
Beautiful!
What a great spot
You have to have a resident sticker or you cant park at the beach. The nearest car park is a 20min walk. $10 for non residents at the wknd.
Great place to walk, run or just relax.
Beautiful lake, beach...
Beautiful by the lake
Very friendly. Good ride
Lovely beach
For Non Resident Visitors this place sucks ... you cannot find parking close to the beach ... you need to park the car at Train station for Non Resident and walk 1Mile ... doesnt make any sense ...
Beautiful Sunset!!
Yes nice place
