What a great little zoo. Just perfect for a nice easy visit with the kids. Nice park attached to play in before and or after. Easy parking on the street and easy to find. There are several eating places across the street if you get hungry. Nicely kept up and the animals are well taken care of. A nice petting zoo for the little kids.

Its a small zoo but for younger kids, its perfect. Play in the small water play area including an elephant spouting water. The butterfly garden is cool as you can see the cocoons. At the front of the wallaby exhibit, play the kukuburra call on your phone and youll here the kukuburra reply! We were told they are hoping to add penguins to the penguin exhibit next year but cant right now because they are coming from California and its way to challenging to do so given covid-19. The exhibit looks cool and we cant wait. Train rides are also not available as they are redoing the whole area around the pond. We get frozen custard ice cream right behind the zoo at the end of every visit to the zoo. The kids always have a blast.

The zoo is always a great way to spend a few minutes or an hour. Our kids love guessing if certain animals will be out or in their homes. Our last visit was for Boo at the Zoo which was well done including procedures due to COVID.

I loved it here! Its free and has a decent amount of animals. You are able to get pretty close to most of the animals or at least are able to see them. There is a petting zoo where you get to hang out with so many goats. Just be careful though because they will most definitely chew on any and everything you have. I didnt mind it because I love goats but they kept nibbling on my shirt and bag.My only complaint was that the turkey vulture seemed to have a small enclosure. I would have liked to have seen a bigger area for him.Dont expect to see just a ton of animals. They are adding a penguin exhibit later. Its a good place to bring kids. There is a little splash area at the entrance for them to cool off when its hot.

This is a wonderful little park for children of all ages and abilities as well as adults. There are several covered picnic areas, a small free zoo that is absolutely wonderful, as well as many different playgrounds for all ages. From sitters/crawlers to elementary-aged children, this is an excellent park. There are even ducks and a little pond and also a train that you can purchase tickets for in the zoo gift shop. Only $2 per person over 2 years old! Great deal! My 3 year old and 18 month old had an awesome time!

This place is awesome for us city folk who never see more wildlife than the occasional trash panda or road pancake. The kids love it and can easily spend hours in the goat pen alone. This is certainly one of the greatest treasures Lafayette has to offer.

Amazing place to take the kids. Fun and free. Animals are well taken care of. Beware of feeding the goats as they get overly excited and like to jump, but overall really fun. Its also right by the park so the kids can play afterwards. Only wish there were more places to eat nearby.

This park has everything. It has a butterfly area. They can land on you. Tons of different animals. Like kangaroos. prairie dogs. Aquarium for the otters. A awesome little interactive water features to keep you cool. A awesome little train you can ride on. Places to have a picnic at. Tunnels for the kids to crawl through. Huge playground sets. Petting zoo. The kids had a blast. Its a little bit of a drive for us. Its worth it. The greatest part. Is its all FREE! SERIOUSLY FREE. They take donations and theyre adding penguin soon. Cant recommend this place enough. Love it.

I shouldnt give any rating as I didnt get to see the place because I got there a few minutes after closing not knowing what time it closed but I did hear a bunch of animals hooting and hollering and that was kind of neat for a free zoo Im sure its worth all the freeness there is

Small zoo without any of the large animals (elephant, lions, etc) but it was very clean, free, and even though it was small for an adult. It is the perfect size with the right amount of animals for small children that cant walk as much or handle a long day at a place like the Indy zoo. All in all very enjoyable

Free zoo. Very clean zoo. Staff was nice and helpful and gave us information in every area. A large range of animals can be seen here. Several baby goats were recently born. Chickens, several different species of monkeys, porcupine, kookaburra bird that I’ve never seen before, otters, turtoise, butterfly exhibit, wallaby, singing dogs that are extinct except in captivity and others. There are kiddy rides there and a train. Next door there are water slides and pools and a baseball stadium. Plenty of shelter houses with picnic tables. I highly recommend.

Columbia park has come a long way. They have been slowly redoing the walls and putting in rock beds in place of the eroded walls. They have redone most of their Memorial area. Feels so peaceful walking amongst the flowers and monuments.Ive always loved our park, just wish for a little more in the zoo.Ill probably change my review to 5 stars once all the construction is complete.

The large pavilions have picnic tables with enough seating for your Birthdays and family gathering. Having just moved from a big city, I was rather skeptical of a small town zoo that was also free. However, my toddler and I have been twice in a row this week, and he loves this zoo maybe more than the big city one. Very well done, personable staff, fun little signs to learn from, interactive exhibits, and even a splash pad. We usually spend about 3 hours here.

For a free zoo, this place is absolutely amazing. Having just visited the San Diego zoo, our expectations were low. We were prepared to just enjoy a little stroll with a few animals but spent 2 hours amazed with the wallaby walk, otters, and petting zoo. Ill admit, the petting zoo stole my kiddos heart. However, I thought the butterfly pavilion was impressive, with butterflies everywhere you look. Outside the zoo was a plethora of playgrounds to please all age groups of my crew, even up to the teens. This was a fabulous surprise during our quick trip to Lafayette!
