We had our wedding there this past weekend, and it was so beautiful. The historic house and the incredible grounds made the perfect backdrop for the most important day of my life. Rose did such a wonderful job organizing everything and helping to accommodate all of our guests and vendors! Thank you so much Rose!

The Bleak House was a gorgeous venue for our wedding. In the beginning of planning stages, the staff were great to work with and communicated well. The person who usually assisted with weddings was out of town the week of our wedding. We had communicated with person who covering what time All Occasion rentals would arrive to set up the day before. All Occasions arrived with no there to let them in. The person did not show up till 3 hours later. On that same day we notices that the grounds flowers and greenery had been sprayed the week before. Plants were dead and there were no flowers. We had to rush out and buy ferns and flowers to fill in the empty spaces. On the day of the wedding my family and I arrives at 9am to finish setting up. Again there was no one there to let us in. The person covering did not have her phone on and my uncles had to remove the bolts on the gates so we could set up. The house was locked and photographers were there to take pictures of the our rings and the dress. We had to call Board Members to come and unlock the house. It wasnt till 11:30 someone finally showed.About an hour before the wedding we were finishing up pictures the parking lot security was allowing people to walk through house. The person who didnt show up to tell us in both days recognized a wedding guest as a friend. She then decided to give a tour of house while the wedding party was still in the house. I had to go hide in a bathroom because i did not want to be seen before the wedding.the venue is beautiful, the history of house is amazing, but it ran by volunteers. As a bride be prepared for lack of professionalism and over communicate.

An amazingly beautiful place full to the brim with historical significance, antiques and romance. This beautiful estate is permeated with a mysterious yet romantic aura all the way down to the last detail. Its always been a pleasure to visit and upon leaving you always feel you want to stay longer. The bridal suite is so pretty and accommodates all that a bride could want. Ive had the honor of being my little sisters Maid-of-Honor on her wedding day that was held here. It was a magical evening that held the promise of a long and happy future for the new couple. This venue is a place that should be on your radar if you have any event in need of an impressive venue.

The Civil War and Confederate experience really doesnt get much better than this. For such a small property, it is packed with history and artifacts that some better known places of historical significance cannot rival. The best time to go is probably when they have their tours which include period accurate attire and members of the UDC. I recommend this location to all history and Civil War buffs.

I have never been to a worse tour. The home was gorgeous an full of great history, though. If Frank is your tour guide, turn around and run. I learned nothing aboutthe house in the 3 rooms, which took a full hour. Frank is racist and very biased. You will be offended if you are from the north. I was a cop for 33 years. I have seen it all. Compared to how black mean treat people now, slaves were treated great. -FrankIf you dont have 2 hours to listen to Frank ramble racist, biased opinions, save yourself the time and the $10 p/guest fee.

I was impressed with the house and grounds and the history but I have to agree with the other poster regarding the tour guide. Rather than act as a guide and point out the historical importance of the house and grounds he wanted to berate the historians, the current administration, and insisted on telling two young school children that their history books are full of lies and the teachers perpetuate these lies. One hour into the tour we were still within 20 feet of the door!It is a shame that we could not just tour the house and listen to its impressive history. Instead, we left dissappointed.
