The Key West Lighthouse & Keepers Quarters Museum did not disappoint! The 360° views of the 2 mile x 4 mile island was breathtaking and spectacular to say the least! They had a gentleman up in the top of the light house who was a historian and did an excellent job of answering all of our questions. You could look out and see the entire island + some as you walk around the perimeter of the light house. The Keepers Quarters Museum was quite interesting and we spent a lot of time in there. Plus, it was air conditioned! There are 88 stairs to the top, so we definitely recommend close toe + sturdy shoes!

This kind of flashy things are always enhancing the cool breeze of the city of Key West. This is not by the seaside, but inside a residential area [seems so]. If you have day long plan in Key West, this place is good to take rest for a while. If this is open, do not miss going upstairs to take different views of the beach town. There are many ancient tree down in the park near this place, which give cool shadow all over the day.

We have visited lighthouses across the country and couldnt resist this one. Nicely maintained, courteous staff, helpful and friendly. This was the oldest lighthouse (1840s) weve visited, it has a very interesting history. It was designed by Lt. Meade who would go onto to lead the Union Army in the battle of Gettysburg, after the war he returned to designing and building Lighthouses as well as other things. The Lighthouse keepers home was full of all sorts of information and facts and history. If youre looking for something interesting to do at a slower pace then this is the place for you. We enjoyed.

This was on my bucket list for awhile! I was not disappointed. The lighthouse is right across the street from the Hemingway House on Whitehead St. Due to COVID, we had to buy our tickets online and they saw that we purchased them on the back end. Inside, there was a tour guide on the ground that told us about the overall history. Then we went up the stairs of the lighthouse. It is a lot of steps, so be prepared. On top, another tour guide was thereto direct questions. It was fantastic and you get a great view of the island. Little information spots are around the top of the tour to point out landmarks. Highly recommend going inside the museum. Lots of cool information in there.

Catch yourself the best views in Key West at this light house. Takes a few steps to get to the top of the light - house, but the views are unbelievable. Theres an entire panorama view of the ocean and city. This is located near Ernest Hemingways house, across the street. Glad I went!

You can’t even see this place from Duval, and if you didn’t know to walk west a block, you would completely miss this place. Historic light house with self tours. We made the climb to the top and were rewarded with probably the best view in Key West. We easily could see miles in every direction. It is quite high with a sheer drop off so only attempt if you can handle heights easily. Some of the people up there were a bit terrified. I thoroughly enjoyed it, absolutely breathtaking views.

I love lighthouses! This one was cute and on the small size, but very informational with great views. There are informational plaques at the top to point out things in the distance, which I thought was neat. I have not seen that at other light houses. The stairs are connected via a pole in the middle so it is pretty much one way up and down.

Key West light house is a historical monument which is located in Key West, FL. The first Key West lighthouse was a 65-foot (20 m) tower completed in 1825 and destroyed by the Great Havana Hurricane of 1846 and the new tower was completed by 1848 (as per the wiki) with 50 feet, by 1894 tower was raised and the lamp was placed 100 feet above sea level. Currently this is a well managed historical place with a good green landscape park. We can have a very good view of streets and sea from the top of this place. On the way to this light house we can find street vendors, colorful buildings etc...

There is a great view from the top of the lighthouse (it is a workout to get up the narrow spiral staircase) and the garden area is nice. The lady in the gift shop was very nice and helpful. What a good looking Lighthouse! Very pretty from the outside with interesting trees and plants on the grounds! We’ve climbed a lot of lighthouses, and this one isn’t very tall so it’s an easy climb. BUT, the stairs made me nervous (and I don’t scare easily!) they just didn’t seem that sturdy, and it’s quite narrow with two way traffic and no regulation about how many people can climb at once!Views and info at the top was great and gave us a good base of education for the rest of our time in Key West!

You have to see the Lighthouse if you are in Key West. You have great views of the cruise ship docks and the surrounding terrain. The walk up the spiral staircase is not that much of a climb so it should be okay for small children and the elderly who are okay with climbing a normal staircase. Along the way to the top are a few windows you can stop and catch a different view and nice breeze. Then take your time on the way down. At the entrance to the lighthouse is a small gift shop with souvenirs and the history of the lighthouse. Outside in the gardens surrounding the lighthouse are benches to take a break and just maybe youll meet a lonely lady sitting on the bench waiting for someone. If you ask nicely shell show you whats in her purse...... Take the climb to the top and enjoy the views of Key West. Its basically across the street from Hemmingways house anyway so its convenient. My wife and I stopped by and loved this historic site. I love history and enjoyed learning more. There’s quite a bit of stairs leading up to the top and kinda claustrophobic on the way up and down. I would recommend that the staff should coordinate and direct everyone up and down. We were walking up and there was a family coming down simultaneously and it was extremely tight for everyone. Once you’re at the top it was an awesome 360 degree view of the island. Once we were down we then walked over to the living quarters and learned a little more history.
