This museum was a great stop while in Key West. That is run by firefighters, retired and volunteer alike, this place has a ton of history and is amazing to walk through. It is an old fire station from the steam engine and horse days. The top is still set up like a bunk rokm. Very neat and cheap stop. Lots to see here.

Great tour! Well worth the visit. I enjoyed learning about the history and the stories behind the many displays. Was unsure about going, took some out of town family with me, we all enjoyed and will be back! Thanks for preserving this piece of Key West History!

Whilst we were in Key West, Florida Keys; we came across the decommissioned Fire House No.³ on Grinell Street. It is now a museum with artefacts dating as far back as the late 1800s. One of their newest pieces, is a piece of steel from the North Tower of the World Trade Centre.

If in the area and you enjoy firehouse history stop by. If a time or retired show your FD ID for a discount on admission. They have the old bell system that was in Key West and can demonstrate how it works.

I really like this tour. The guides are retired fire fighters and some stationed at the Museum station when it was active. There is a lot of good historical information around the city, and its interesting to hear how its evolved.

The chief and guys there are so accommodating. They stayed an hour and half past closing to give us the tour because it is their passion. So much history here. I will be back.

Pretty neat hidden gem. The building itself was better to me then the actual stuff inside. Lots of original parts to the building still there and functioning. If your a firefighter you get a discount which is nice as well.

Great museum with tons of history. The gentleman giving the tour worked at the house when it was active. Their knowledge, memories, and banter made the perfect tour experience. Dont forget to smell the Key Lime leaves when youre there!

The historical references and collections are impressive and interesting. I truly enjoyed the stories provided by Mr. Alex Vega who spent his career as a firefighter in Key West! We would not have known about the museum if my father-in-law did not know Alex from their childhood, but my family and I are truly grateful he did because it was a great experience!

Mixed feelings on this one...one gentleman was very nice and would tell us the kids could play or touch something then another guy would yell at them to stop. This happened multiple times. I would not recommend this place if you have kids. Which is so sad since my 4 yo loves everything fireman.

A MUST SEE in Key West.Run by the former fire chief of key west, who gave us a lovely guided tour of the grounds and both floors of the firehouse.Filled with history and memorabilia, fire trucks from different parts of history to climb through, videos and pictures of many of the former firemen and history of key west. This was one of the best places we visited while we were here.A little off the beaten path and out of the hustle and bustle of all the usual tourist traps, and only $10, with half off for military, police and fire and their families.

This is a gem of key west! We had a private tour with retired Cheif Carlo. He shared more history of the island than the other tours we went on. He also had a plethora of information on the development of fire rescue gear, attack tactics, and water storage. This stop is kid friendly and they have 2 for trucks to sit on.

With a really nice guide who really showed how it was in the old days, as well as an insight to how it is today, I learned about the history of the town and some intresting toughts from a local.3 Hours went by like nothing, and you get to sit in an old (and new) firetruck!Might not be perfect for a very young child but if you want to visit, there is some toys for the little ones as well.
