I loooovveeee this place. Awesome education. Awesome chocolate. Awesome staff. I loved everything about my experience there. I would totally go again the next time I visit Honolulu. This is an experience my husband and I will never forget. I love how they try to maintain the integrity of the cacao and compensate the farmers and other employees involved in the harvesting and processing of the chocolate and that means everything to me. Love it there

Bring quarters for parking meters! We were lucky enough to find a broken meter to park next to hut otherwise we would have missed our tour time. The tour itself was awesome. Our guide was friendly and informative. The chocolate here is expensive but the company’s passion for sourcing quality, ethically produced ingredients is well worth the price (not to mention their attempt at diversifying Hawai’i’s economic balance). We are so glad we took this tour and recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about chocolate and its production. The tasting was amazing! We got to try everyone of the chocolate bars and even some delicious chocolate tea!

Must see spot!! Cool place to learn about craft chocolate. The difference between commodity and craft is community and this makes sense to support people who are doing the right thing. The tour was informative. They are “small” in size but award winning. Love hearing about people making a difference and caring about the world we live in. Oh and the chocolate is delicious that is the best part! Check it out!

Such a great experience, our host Katie was very knowledgeable about their sourcing and the overall production process of their chocolate bars. My fiance and I are both local in Hawaii and we left with much appreciation about Hawaii grown and Hawaii made chocolate. Our 4 bars included 1lb of their best selling breakfast bar, lavender dark chocolate, banana chocolate bar, and the koolaupoko. Highly recommend to locals as well as tourists!

We did the walk in tour and tasting, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. You can call in advance to take advantage of the full tour, and we are looking forward to it. There is absolutely no pressure to purchase at any time during the tour, but you will certainly want more of the chocolate (or tea, or nibs....)They also offer shipping to the mainland for a very reasonable fee, and can recommend beer and wine pairings as well! This is a must stop if you are shopping for gifts.Manoa - Thank you for hosting us! I appreciate your patience with my homeschoolers as we asked questions. We cant wait to come back to do the longer tour! See you soon!

This is such a cool little place. The colorful mural on the side of the building is welcoming and as soon as you walk in the blissful aroma of chocolate beckons you to explore. The staff were very friendly and welcomed is as soon as we walked through the door. The offered an impromptu tour and complimentary chocolate tasting which was informative and fun! We tasted 10 or so chocolates and their chocolate tea which is made from byproducts of the chocolate making process. They are kid friendly and didnt mind giving the kids tastes of their chocolates and gelato. Overall fabulous experience. We are running out of their chocolate brew fast and will be dropping by soon to stock up again!

Like a fine wine tasting, but with exquisite cacao from several regions around the world, including local grown beans. The entire tour, and experience at Manoa Chocolate, is educational, enlightening, and tasty! Smiling staff is super friendly in sharing their love and process knowledge of this beautiful pod, that most of us endear. Make sure to visit, while in/near the Kailuha area. Chocolate tea, anyone? The smell of warm chocolate as you walk in the door is a slap in the face of yum, and the factory floor - nature mix of decor is lovely! The taste testing is well thought out and excited by the staff, featuring a variety of their dark and milk chocolates, and a tea for palate cleansing. Along with their chocolate bars they have gelato, sorbet, signature tea and coffee, and if you are very lucky fresh cacao juice! If you are so inclined, a cup of juice and 2 scoops of sorbet make for a wonderful float! An excellent addition to any trip to the windward side of the island.

We had some Groupon bucks we needed to use & my husband found a tour for Manoa Chocolate. Im so glad he did! The staff was exceptionally informative & engaging. They told us all about the chocolate making from the beginning of the cacao bean to the delicious end. We were able to try fresh cacao at the beginning (which wasnt bad til I bit it lol) & we sampled the final product at the end. So man flavors of chocolate! I dont think well have time for another tour but we need to go back for more chocolate before we leave the island as its the best chocolate Ive ever had. My husband & our boys (ages 8 & 9) totally agree. :)

Stopped in for a tour and tasting. Tami (Tammy?) was absolutely amazing to learn from. She took us through how the cacao bean is grown, how the farmers ferment it, and dry. Through the whole process of how to turn it into chocolate. They are a direct trade company and the prices reflect that. Absolutely amazing company, people and of course chocolate. I left with 13 bars of chocolate and plan to order more in the future. Worth the price and time during your stay on Oahu. Will be a lifelong customer.

When I visited Oahu, I saw a Groupon for Moana Chocolate tour that was pretty cheap so I took it. They know the ins and outs of the chocolate industry and the tour lasted for about 1.5hrs. They had great customer service and were very informative. The reason of my 4/5 rating is during my tour, our tour guide would get distracted about other topics and will talk about it for a few minutes even tho it’s not related . The person working there gave us a delightful education about the process of making chocolate and then took us through a chocolate tasting accompanied by the chocolate tea where we tried different flavors of their dark chocolate and compared their texture and taste. It was so much fun. If you have kids, make this a stop on your Kailua visit. They will learn so much about chocolate and how it is made. Their chocolate was phenomenal. I got the Ghost Pepper (just the right amount of spice for me), the Sea Salt (you can see the crystals of salt) and the Breakfast (actual cacao nibs).
