Couldnt be more disappointed. Drove 45 miles on Ohau just to see this monument and get a few pictures and the employee inside the building which is where the guard sentry sent me to get a temporary visitors pass refused to let me cross the street for a photo. He said I had no military ID. I had my rental car ID, my Canadian passport, my Ontario Drivers licence etc. The website stated civilian access. Bulls**t !
I see it 5 to 6 days a week. A reminder of the sacrifice of some heroic men.
Military only.
This year Im going to the United States again
Absolutely incredible I didnt even realize it was there. Looks like the real thing.
Love USMC!
This place was absolutely worth seeing! The first 1300 people get in free, so you want to show up early. No bags are allowed, so leave your stuff in the car. Everyone needs to see this place. So moving. They did an amazing job of preserving history and honoring the men and women who gave their lives here. We wont forget.
Dont bother - must be active or retired military. Showed my VA card and sentry said I could not get on to even just take a picture of the memorial
Awesome place to visit
The base needs to check out the lights around the memorial at night. Drove by at O dark thirty several mornings and seems that no lights on the flag.
Great site
My tax dollars hard at work. Denied entry. Only for the military to view I guess.
Unable to access base viewed from pass area
They wont even let you go in this place
