Great little quiet park. We seen a good bit of wildlife. The trail is pretty flat so taking the kids was great. I will suggest a flashlight for the tunnel part. The kids got kinda scared in there in the dark. Found some really cool carving on the tunnel. Some as old as 1805. We will definitely be visiting again.
Great place to bike or walk. Live how they incorporate history lessons along the trail and the tunnel is something to see! Highly recommend!
Had a hard time finding either trailheads because of lack of signs marking where to go. Plus there are alot of roads closed trying to get there from any direction. Will go back up when I have more time to actually get to the tunnel before dark. Will give a better review then.
Great flat run, good kids hike.
Very clean trail. Good nature hike. Lots of history.
Great fall walk with beautiful fall foilage!
Didnt hike the full 2 mile trail, but I did hike a little bit of it and the scenery was beyond beautiful.
Interesting PA history!
This site is a 2.1 mile hike plus the return. The grandchildren and we enjoyed the walk on the old rail bed,an easy walk. The tunnel is the first railroad tunnel that is 900 feet long. Well worth it.
Trail is well maintained. Along the trail there are markers that explains the history of the trail.
Great trail to enjoy nature and go for that walk or jog that is needed to stay in shape! Also has alot of history to enjoy about the railroad. The tunnel is absolutely amazing!
One of my favorite places to walk!!! Love bringing my dog here! Love getting to the tunnel at the end also, very cool!!
What a great place! Its full of history and well documented. If you go beyond the tunnel by bicycle, the trail change as does the terrain for bicycling. Its our favorite place to ride! The tunnel is a great cool down, too!
Nice level area for walk. Little under 2 miles to the tunnel. Good place to bike also. Trail kept clear of any fallen trees. Also amazing how the tunnel was built and it still solid today.
Beautiful scenery with frequent train traffic on the day I was there. Easy slopes with little to no elevation changes.
EASY ACESS, PARKING LOT, SMOOTH TRAIL, GREAT RIDE, Amazing fews of the path of the Johnstown flood. Trail does have one area of steep up Hill in the middle of the trail. But I was amazed at how much forest green space and it was a great experience riding the trail. Minerpoint to Franklin. Definitely a must experience.
Nice level trail surface
Beautiful place..Great walking trail
Perfect short ride and great for kids. Good parking and neat sights along the way.
Best 2 mile trail around, entirely flat, great historic tunnel.
Its a lovely place to go for a stroll in the afternoon. Its beautiful year round. Ive had a lot of lovely memories here
I live the river beside the train tracks but just stay away from them when a train comes by and dont cross the private property lines
4 miles to travel to the tunnel and back. Out house bathrooms at beginning of trail only. Great historical site of the oldest railroad tunnel in the USA
Beautiful Trail! Flat graveled path great for the whole family well worth a trip. Walking and cycling friendly.
The tunnel is actually about a two mile hike from the parking lot, so plan for some hiking if you want to see the actual tunnel.
Its a beautiful trail and an amazing date idea
Worth a visit
Nice 2 mile flat trail into the woods to see the first railroad tunnel, also nearby little conemaugh river offers beautiful views and kayaking!
Beautiful and highly recommend if like hiking
Nicely maintained, smooth and wide bike/hike path. 2.4 miles one way to tunnel.
Beautiful place for a walk or bike ride to see the first railroad tunnel in the US
