Gift shops are located in both Lucy Desi museum. They are filled with great souvenirs and gifts. Looking forward to shopping at Christmas time. Ill be also sending my out of town friends and relatives gifts from Lucytown.
This is a very nice museum dedicated to Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. There is tons of things to see and experience about the pair and their life stories. This is definitely something that you should experience if you liked the couple. Well maintained exhibits and admission gets you to two museums. There is no direct parking lot.
Special Thanks to Ashley that accommodated and enlightened us. She made the trip worthwhile. There are plenty of memorabilia on site and additional sites within the area. I learned what a special person Lucy really was and the immense talent she had.
The stuff they have there (i.e. costumes, props, set recreations, awards) was cool to see. Unfortunately one side of the museum was closed so we only saw half of it. But the good thing is they gave us 50% off the entrance fee because we could only see half the museum. The gift shop was wild though and had a wide variety of gifts for sale.
Fun place, interesting history, brings back good memories.
So interesting. I Love Lucy
Great birthday gift, thank you Jen. Wonderful experience, learned so many things about Lucy and Desi! I would recommend this fun museum to everyone!!
Given my thumbs up loved it watch the show almost everyday didnt disappoint me to go see it
Very helpful staff. Good place to see
It was great.
If you loved I love Lucy and are interested in a bit of history...alot of great memorabilia
The cost into the museum was pretty high, $16.00 a person. They, however, are offering 50% of the price. There are different rates per age groups. Didnt go in and the shop was cool
Great place, enjoyable and learned many interesting things about lucy
First time there it was very interesting loved it well worth the money.
Great place, its just recently been extended so theres more exhibits
Museum is informative, self paced with highlight film clips of her shows.
Really boring, just static displays, I expected at least one life size display, not even a cards cutout. They spend a fortune advertising this place, they should spend some money on the attraction itself.
Such a fun museum with tons of costumes sets memorabilia and historyYou can see the sets from the show and even act in the vitameatavegamin commercialA must for any Lucille ball and I love Lucy fan.Parking lots are located about two blocks up easy walk to the museum.Museum reasonably pricedGreat staff very friendly and knowledgeableLots of goodies in the gift shop to take home.A must if your in Jamestown
Loved seeing the sets from the show. Awesome visit!!
So much information! Fun place to visit!!
AMAZING! I Love Lucy fans will fall in love with this museum. You start at the gift shop ( bathroom there ), then work your way through the museum and Desilu Studios building. Its very clean ( Covid 19 safety precautions are taken ), well organized, and has everything - timelines from their births, their careers, how they met, the TV show, home movies, art work, costumes, interviews, films, pics, even the Vitameatavegamin booth. Takes a couple of hours or more, depending on if you read everything and take pics. Theres another gift shop at the exit. $16 per adult ticket or $30 for a dual day pass to the NCC. Theres street & lot parking on the block, but if youre staying at the Double Tree or La Quinta hotels, its within walking distance ( 1 or 2 blocks & also very close to the National Comedy Center ). Theyll give you a list too of other places to see - Lucys childhood home, burial site, the memorial park with her 2 statues.... 2 thumbs up! Loved it!!!
Forever lovable Lucille Ball. There are two museums next to each other. One is about the work of Lucy and Desi, and other is about their personal lives. For a casual visit 1 hour is sufficient but if you are the one to read all playbills and pamphlets, make it 2 hours. For an additional fee you can also visit National center for comedy which may take more time.
Very informative museum. It was nice to see the various props and set from the tv show. This is a definitely a must see for Lucy fans
Super interesting museum. Glad we made the trip
I LOVE Lucy and this museum has so much cool memorabilia, props, costumes, and scripts from the show and just wonderfully arranged and perfect A lot of her awards are displayed and I really liked the “stage” where you can practice your Vitameatavegamin skills! The gift shop is amply stocked and has great prices!
Excellent little Museum. I miss the Becky lady who was so helpful and knowledgeable. She was great to my mom and so wonderful to talk to. We still go back but its not the same. Still a good little stop.
I loved it. It brought back some old memories
Had so much fun with friends love this place!
Treasures telling the story of an American treasure. If you love Lucy, you must visit this museum in her home town.
Lucy ball time to be happy Wednesday night or
Everyone should go great place learned a lot Lucille Ball was a smart woman
I was up in Jamestown for work. They LOVE Lucy. Being a wannabe film student my 1st couple semesters a million years ago I was very curious. It was a blast. They had a three module film editor they crafted solely to deal with a bottleneck. SPOILER ALERT: It ends up at the museum. A group ahead had plans to visit her childhood home, the place She worked at as a teenager, & her gravesite If I have time, I will definitely visit her grave. The museum helped me realize how giant her contributions really were. Rock on, Lucy!
Great history, the exhibits were phenomenal.
The nostalgia and all the fond memories of watching the I Love Lucy show returned. I definitely recommend!
Interesting place nice setup and variety of Lucy memorabilia
Absolutely love Lucy and how I did enjoy the museum just felt like it needed something more. Spending $16 a person seemed pretty high considering.
Wonderful place for Lucille Ball fans! I really enjoyed all of the pictures and studio setups. It was as if you could envision them all there on the set.
Nice museum with good history! Some exhibits were broken, but overall it was really interesting!
If youre a big Lucy fan then a 5. Its interesting and lots of info on both Lucy and Desi. I loved seeing the recreation of their movie sets. But they had so much more of everything that was theirs.
Its like being present inside the DesiluTelevision Studio set, sound stage and actual live filming of the show I Love Lucy..
I was amazed by how much I enjoyed the museum as someone who has never really been into the show. I found the exhibits to be incredibly informative, the recreated sets to be impactful, and the general depth of artifacts on display to be greater than I would have imagined. A must-visit for anyone with even a passing interest in the show.
I visited this museum last week. It is housed in two different buildings, along the same block in Jamestown. You can purchase entry to these two museums (one focused on Lucy Ball and Desi Arnaz television show and its production -- the other focused on Lucy Balls personal life) and the National Comedy Center, located in the renovated train station; a 4 block walk, closer to the river. Please note that some mapping tools direct you to a different block or location than where the museum is actually located. It is well worth the visit, especially if you appreciate learning about the past. The National Comedy Center (opened in 2018) is also an experience, facilitated by a massive database of comedians work from the past 100 years. Enjoy!
Amazing time checked out all the sites around town after our tour
This is a fantastic museum and a perfect day trip for fans of vintage television and Lucy & Desi! Lots to see! Good food and hotels in area.
We loved this place, lots to see and an excellent gift shop.
Some of the exhibits were being updated so it was not as long as expected to go through although it was a very nice experience overall.
Wow, the set from episodes of the I Love Lucy show, the 3 screen reviewing machine, and lots of facts that we didnt know. Definitely worth a visit.
Grew up watching I Love Lucy! Really didnt know what to expect from a small town and the museum. Exceeded my expectations and we all really enjoyed the museum and the history of Lucy and Desi. GREAT TIME!!
Lots of exhibits that are facinating for Lucy fans
Highly recommend going here if you grew up watching I Love Lucy! Also Lucille Balls birth home is not far from the museum.
Many new additions and a new location
Small town feel surprised at how easy it was to find
If you love Lucy then this is the place for you. You will find yourself remembering and laughing at the episodes where she wore that outfit. It has great history on their personal life including relatives as well as the show. They also make you feel like you are there. It is also interactive in which you can rent a phone and get even more behind the scenes information. They even have a vitameatavegaman table for you to try your acting skills and believe me its harder than it looks but lots of fun and makes great memories. I was amazed at all the stuff especially the living room and kitchen although it feels like it cant be only because its in color when all I ever see is black and white. The only thing better if it were possible which I know its not would be to actually meet them. I enjoyed it so much that I know you will too.
A fun-filled Lucy experience!
Nice collection of costumes, tidbits on the history of the I Love Lucy show, and a peek into the family life. Very well rounded museum. Jamestown clearly loves Lucy and her family!
Unable to park RV ... traveled 2 hours .... unable to park sooo
If you love Lucy, this is so worth the walk through. Doesnt take a whole lot of time and you can buy cheaper combo tickets to both parts of their museum as well as the comedy center, which we thought was brilliant. My fiancee had never even seen Lucy, (I know ) but even he enjoyed seeing everything.
AMAZING, if you can remember.
A must visit for any Lucille Ball fan. Lots of original costumes from the TV show.
I enjoyed seeing the old costumes and the sets from the Lucy show. Also liked seeing old equipment from Desilu studios.
Very pleasantly surprised how much is here....great look back at a simpler time and wonderful performer
So, so very rich in early cinamatic history! And the museum passed with flying colors in terms of preserving the colorful life of Lucy and Desi! Her Mercedes-Benz on display at the end of the tour was a show-stopper!
If Lucy and Desi were part of your childhood, youll totally enjoy this museum. The restored sets are great. And its interesting to learn how a TV show was produced in the early years.
Brought back a TON of great memories!
Both myself and my husband found this place to be very informative as well as educational and a nice place to visit.
I stopped in here to Christmas shop for my sisters who adore Lucille Ball! An amazing place to visit with friendly, helpful staff!
Wonderful! Beautiful sets, memorabilia, and wardrobe. Alot of interesting information. Gift shop has tons of variety and not outrageously over priced (looking at you Disney). Would absolutely recommend!
Nostalgia. Great memories. Fun museum.
Brought back childhood memories. The food in the Tropicana room could have been better. The coffee was probably the worst I have ever had. The silverware was dirty and there was an oil slick on my coffee. I wonder if maybe the cup was dirty too.
A nice museum for the die hard Lucy and desi fans. Some of the displays were out of order when I visited. A little on the pricey side at $16 a person. Good bit of history and back story.
Staff were very nice. They had a fair selection. A tight wad like me was pleased to see they had a few items on clearance. Both my husband and I were surprised the local hotels did not have a Lucy designated Channel. We thought that would have been a cute idea for her home town.
Small museum, brought back many memories and laughs. Friendly volunteers.
Our vacation was actually in Sandusky for Cedar Point and realized we werent that far from Jamestown, so we made it a day trip. We were absolutely not disappointed. Lots of exhibits and Lucille and Rickys life history. The souvenir shop was quite. I would recommend a visit to her childhood home and gravesite.
We loved the museum. As fans of the reruns, we learned things we never knew.
If you love Lucy there are many interesting memorabilia and information about her career and family
Amazing little museum, learned a lot about their history and who they were. Definitely recommend stopping by and seeing it if you like Lucille Ball.
My wife and daughter loved it. One for there bucket list check.
I have always loved Lucy! My husband surprised me and brought me here. Such a delight. To see sets closly created to originals, was touching to me.I always will be grateful for her showing humanity that women are funny and that redheads (me being one of them) are cool.
Did not know all the hardships these two had before they became rich and famous. Or how hard they had to work to maintain riches and celebrity. Great collection of tv sets, clothing. Worth visiting.
For Lucy fans, this is a must see! This is a wonderful experience that brought back so many memories. Lots of memorabilia, photos, costumes, replicas of sets, and props from their careers.I had a wonderful time here. I do wish that they had more ambient sound (perhaps the theme song in the background?). It would be a great addition if there were also more film footage playing throughout the museum. All in all, this is a national treasure that is preserving the legacy of the worlds greatest comedy duo to ever live.
Im not sure why this is in two separate buildings but it was still pretty grand. So much information, lots of reading and listening. The one feature that bugged me was in the first building you could hear televisions playing over each other. So if you were watching one story another could be heard over it in another room. I wish they had afew more interactive options besides the vitameatavegamin set. Other than that it was pretty swell to take everything in. I would recommend this on your bucket list.
The audio tour was completely worth the extra money. I really liked the way it was split into two different sections. It was awesome to learn about Lucy and Desi as a power couple before I love Lucy
So happy to have been finally able to visit. Went with my sister and two cousins had a great time. They did a great job at the museum.
Amazing! I absolutely LOVE Lucille Ball she is my favorite of all time! This was an amazing experience and I cant wait to visit again with my mother and sisters.
If youre a fan of I Love Lucy and Lucille Ball in general you will absolutely love this place. This museum has all authentic materials all related to the original filming of I Love Lucy; they even have on display the final car that Lucille Ball drove before passing away. The car was donated to the museum by her daughter. The museum is very well equipped with wonderful visuals, clips of the series and lots of facts that fans for instance like me werent aware of about the series; the behind-the-scene,s the filming and the groundbreaking that the series pioneered in a time when television but still was still very young.
What a great museum. Loved the displays and learned so much about Lucy and Desi that I never knew. Would love to go back.
Nice museum! The I Love Lucy show was huge in our home when I was a child.Seeing alot of items/displays Brought back memories from my childhood!
It was a tribute to Lucy. Her clothes, her apartment sets, clothing and more.well worth it.
Learned a lot about the queen of comedy. Lots of memories of my younger days. I do love Lucy.
Very nice place. Entertaining, interesting, visual, lots to see and appreciate.
Cool little museum to see a ton of Desi/Lucy memorabilia, including the sets used in the show.
Awesome museum dedicated to the First Lady of Jamestown NY. If you love Lucy you will ️ this place!
Very friendly staff and nice museum! I loved seeing all of the outfits and awards.
I grew up watching Lucy & Desi on television. Pride in knowing she was from my hometown. I was there for the parade and premiere of Forever Darling. Fun today in watching her old movies on AMC or TCM. Lucy and Desi always produced a good clean fun show. The characters Fred & Ethel Mertz were so believable. There is so much tribute to the show, to Lucy, to the costumes, sets, and history. Very worthwhile to visit the Museum to see the exhibits..
I love Lucy and her museum enjoyed it found the DVD of a movie they did that was one of my favorites the long long trailer.
Nice to see memorabilia from the life and careers of two great entertainers. Note that there are two separate museums due to the split they had.
Fantastic!! If you like them youll love this place. its about 1 1/2 hours to tour do the comedy museum too
