My son and I were returning home from a long plains states road trip and discovered this when we were originally just going to stop for a photo op with the world’s largest Buffalo.Frontier Village is FREE and is set up like an old western town. They have a bar, dentist office, jail, general store etc. They had fun picture opportunities through out. My son said it looked like you could have a showdown in the middle of town. They have a wonderful moderately priced gift shop (the most inexpensive souvenirs I had seen in 13 states). You can hand feed buffalo and a horse and I believe that had some food available but we did not check it out.So give yourself an hour or more and check this village out when you’re getting your Buffalo pic.

Fun place to stop while traveling or as a destination itself. The new group that has taken over is doing a great job fixing displays and doing a great job of improving the experience for everyone

This touristic recreated old west town will be loved by the kids and it is a very pleasant location with easy places to park and stroll. The buffalo museum and the worlds largest buffalo are here, so it is a worthwhile stop when en route in Interstate 94. When I was there, there were a lot of people working hard to maintain the various stores and attractions.

We had a wonderful time walking around and seeing old frontier shops. Very nice place. Free to get in. You can at each shop donate a buck or 2. Which we did. It was very nice and nice ppl too.

A quaint replica of what the main street would like in a frontier town. Everything is very well preserved and the details put into the reconstruction all work together to make the visit both educational and enjoyable. On top of that, it is free for visiting.

Its pretty cool, but like the Buffalo, theres no reason to come here if it isnt on your way to somewhere better.

Visiting ND to check off our 48th state. What better way to break up the monotony from all of the endless fields of hay, and Im talking billions of tons of friggin hay, than to check out some awesome cheesy roadside attractions! This little town was awesome to walk through and the leather shop is a great place to pick up a souvenir :)

Youll be passing through here if youre going to visit the Worlds Largest Buffalo Monument or the Buffalo Museum. Its a cute town thats great for photo-ops. Theres a few small stores, but you probably wont need to spend more than half an hour in this place.

Frontier Village is a good stop to break up the drive but there are much better western towns if thats what you expected. I am sure a town the size of Jamestown has limited resources so Id say its good all things considered. Again, not a destination but a good stop to break up the drive.

I gave 2 stars cause I thought the place where you can feed the buffalo was so sad. One buffalo was just laying in dirt with hundreds of flys attacking it. The pen was so small. Rather seeing them roam freely in a bigger area. Maybe Im missing something. But just my Observation. Save the 50cents let them out with the rest of their buddies.

A fascinating little recreation of a town in days long gone by. They have done a great job making each little building show what kind of equipment was used a century ago or longer to print papers, manufacture goods, and fix you up (medically, socially, or spiritually). They have a couple little shops with souvenirs and trinkets. I recommend picking things from the craft shops. The first one you pass on the left in a white building is 100% local crafts. All the other shops youll need to check carefully or ask the proprietor in order to determine if something is local (or made in China/Mexico).My biggest complaint, which they could easily fix, is the metal grating around the exhibits obstruct the view and make for terrible pictures.

Great effort by a number of people. Each building is sponsored/maintained by a different group or person.. its free, but donations are requested in each building. Didnt see the buffalo, but its still a nice break when youre road tripping along I 90.

While the items in this place may be unique, the attitude and service was horrible! I waited at the counter for 5 minutes while the cashier worked on a couple of burgers, knowing I was there the entire time. When I asked if she could help us so we could pay for an item she rolled her eyes, huffed loudly, and then yanked her plastic gloves off in a noticeably cant you see I dont care about you attitude. I would rather be kicked in the crotch by the bison in the nearby field than to ever set foot into this place again.
