Trying to salvage information from Jamestown Royal for room there creating for the history of the furniture industry
Went to a holiday craft fair. The mansion was decorated for the holidays. The vendors were interesting andcordial volunteers were smiling as were the attendees. A happy event
Family-friendly, affordable fun! Throughout the year the center has fun events- candlelit tours at Christmas for example. If your in the area, check this place out!
This historical mansion has been made into a museum. The furnishings alone can keep one gawking for hours, then theres the artwork. The first building houses a geneology research center. Theyre also doing a veterans registry and have a monthly veterans meet up.
Had a great tome as usual. Its a huge beuatiful home full of local history be longing to at one time give her Reuben Fenton. If youve never been and youre local or are interested in our local history its a must see. Make sure to make your way up to the observation tower overlooking Brooklyn Square.
Absolutely LOVE touring the Fenton. Its great for anyone wanting to learn about the local history. While their everyday tours are great, I especially love their Christmas season tours. They decorate the museum (house) beautifully. The Fenton also has a library for anyone wanting to read local history books. I highly recommend visiting.
Of the dozen or so historical societies Ive known, FHCs staff of volunteers are the most dedicated and helpful one could possibly find.
Why do we want learn how Jamestown grew the years? We want to know our history. We want to contribute to our future!! I stopped in today .The people there were friendly and knowledgeable. An excellent place to to bring your children to form a love for their hometown .
I was there years ago. Remember it slightly, but fondly. Looked at website today as I had some recollection (apparently faulty!) that Fenton Glass was somehow connected to Jamestown. I lived I Sherman from 1996 to 2012 when our burnt down. We lived in Jtown for most of the remainder of 2012. Then back to Rochester, where we retain fond memories of our years in the Southern Tier.
Awesome museum full of local history
Great resource, extremely helpful staff! Fun to visit, with regular new exhibits!
They are doing really amazing changes to the displays in the mansion. Its nice to see some new things in there
Its an awesome place to visit with family
Thorough and professional preservation of area history. A must stop for genealogy interests. Excellent staff help.
I enjoy volunteering here. They always have great projects that need to be completed.
Lot of great local history, be sure to see the Swedish display, very large amount of local Swedish history from the area.
A local treasure with a lot of local and national historical value for Jamestown as well as New York State as a whole. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in Jamestowns past as a furniture manufacturing capital of the nation.
Great place to visit for a historical take on the city, also great for Pokémon go
Great place to spend time...
Bigger than I remembered. A must see in Jamestown.
