This is our go-to park during the COVID era. Everyone generally wears masks when theyre in proximity to other people and theres enough space to allow you to avoid other groups. Plenty of BBQ grills and picnic tables. Since the fields arent being used for organized activities, theyre available for general use.
Beautiful place to take pictures with a nice fountain, flowers, and a little waterfall for prom, weddings, Quinceaneras, graduations, all events. Big park to play soccer, baseball, with beautiful green grass. Big playgrounds for children to play, and nice, wide sidewalks to run, ride bikes, social distancing. Nice place for family gatherings, with picnic tables.
Wonderful (large!) Park. This park has everything from little league games, to practice fields for soccer. There is also a set of tennis courts. This is a fantastic park for POKEMON GO, or just to walk around. Also provided (based off reservation) there are covered picnic areas with grills for events. City of Irvines best.
Okay, since the houses are on the cover of most of the tourist guidebooks, it wouldnt hurt to take a look. yup, thats Danielle Steeles house. click, click. if you take the time to walk around the small park, youll find a quaint shoe garden. its cute and unique. other than that, its mostly a park for dogs...maybe b/c its too windy here to just hang out.
Bill Barber Memorial Park is another one of Irvines 268 park system. It is directly adjacent to Irvine City Hall/ Civic center. It is the location of many Annual festivals and cultural events. It has baseball fields, softball field, soccer, vast open space, kids play equipment with individual areas for swings and climbing structures. There are all the peripheral things necessary for picnicking such as grills, tables, seating areas, concessions stands for during the many sporting tournaments etc. Theres also a dog training course courtesy of the Irvine Police department, on the far side of the parking lots next to the left field entrance to Debbra Manning softball field. On a daily basis, many people find this a quiet place to exercise with a walk, or just relax and contemplate the day by a beautiful waterfall on a secluded bench. There is also a building for Irvines child development center and its incredibly beautiful as well. It is a perfect place to take the kids for their extra curricular activities and fun community classes. I highly recommend just spending an hour walking around and taking it all in. Enjoy!!
Walk thru the paved park paths and enjoy one of the wide open city parks of Irvine, Baby Silcon Valley. A glorious region in the OC for university students, birther tourism from kind Chinese nationals and the best Persian food this side of Irans number 1 Pomegranate grove, way-way East of the Euphrates River! If Bill Barber was an actual barber, the Zohan would be very proud.
Can’t go wrong with any sports in this park. Well designed and maintained. We saw multiple folks waiting outside Tennis courts. Soccer practice on baseball fields. And of course baseball. Clean restrooms and right next to the trail.
Super roomy park and large playground that well miss during the new SAH Order.
This park is HUGE! There are plenty of paths for walking, biking or skating, plenty of set ups to host a childs birthday party. This was a fun place to take the dogs for a walk this evening. I am so glad I was introduced to it. I plan on returning often!
Great place to visit for a relaxing day in the park, also next to the San Diego creek bike trail, a 4 mile ride to the Newport backbay, for those more adventurous, an 18 mile round trip around the bay from the park parking lot.
Love this place. Clean and quiet. Lunch time chill is perfect here!
Nice park for family. Lot of space for kids to play. Safe and secure. Options for picnics, games, get togethers, team events.
Good park. Plenty or water fountains and water bottle refill stations. Plenty of restrooms. Always maintained and green
Pretty big park with plenty of parking, right next to a nice bike trail
Large park with baseball fields, kids play park, trails, benches, tables and bathrooms (plenty of parking). Always well kept.
This place is great! Just make sure if youre scootering around, WEAR A HELMET! I ended up with a brain bleed and a concussion from falling onto the concrete :( but this park is super great otherwise!
This place has the most biggest kids play area I’ve seen! The play area is divided into children 2-5 years of age and 5-12 years of age. The size of each area is just well made. There’s tons of good shade that helps to come during the afternoon when there are a lot of sunlight. This park has the most variety of play area activity to keep the kids from getting bored. The biggest plus factor is the shades that is provided. The whole play area isn’t well shaded, but is still pretty much in shades. There’s lots of sand area that my kid loves to play in, but she gets dirty easily from the water pipe that’s located at the sand area. They also have a clean bathroom that’s located right by the play area. The parking is free, but the parking lot is located a bit far from the play area. So there’s a bit of a walk.
Was here to take photos. Beautiful free park to walk through and parking is free! Grounds are well kept and very clean. Recommend if youre looking for something beautiful and natural and elegant for quick photoshoots.
Probably the safest park in Orange County. Shares the parking with Irvine Police Department. Tennis courts, softball, playgrounds. Next to mountains to sea trail.
Nice quiet place to exercise have fun with your family and friends around the area
Nice park with a lot of amenities. Sports fields, walking path, kids play equipment and clean modern restrooms. Parking can be a little tricky sometimes, overflow parking next to City Hall.
Very nice and clean park in neighborhood. I walk through this park daily
A beautiful park to have lunch. Few people and those that were there, wore masks and were social distancing.
Huge open park with a good amount of shade. Every one is friendly and stays away from each other.
Huge park with a great playground for kids. Open fields and very safe and clean.
Bill Barber park is nice and beautiful quite clean park for kids and adult for picnic
Very big with long and nice walks. Enough shade in the benches as well
Very clean, large open spaces, and many well maintained restrooms. Enjoyed our visit!
Great park to play Pokemon Go. The park is huge and its relatively easy to stay socially distant from other people. Most of the main sidewalks are wide. Its also a nice rest stop when biking down the San Diego Creek Trail.
Nice place for picnic and gathering. The restroom also clean. We have high school reunion last nite from 7 pm to 10 pm.
Its so great! Fun, unique, wheelchair or stroller accessible playgrounds. Clean, and feels safe from crime. A tot lot and 2 bigger kid play areas. Sand. A big bathroom since its at a sports park. Enough shade. Benches by the play areas. Picnic table gazebos close by. Pretty flower-covered arches, and a fountain safely away from the playground. The ONLY improvement would be to the tot lot: fix or clean out moving parts that I think arent supposed to have sand inside, and replace the windows nobody can see through anymore. Or just replace that whole structure. Its not that interesting to my kids anyways past age 1. Please dont change the older kid areas though! Theyre wonderful!
Great place to fast walk, jog or play tennis. Its children playground seem also very popular.
One of the best parks in Irvine. The grass is soccer stadium quality. The play ground is unique and it covers all ages from 2-13. It is a great location for photography as well.
Very nice park with decent tennis courts
Beautiful park for you and your best friend. Super dog friendly and calming.
Beautiful park to take your family to.
Peaceful, beautiful, you can walk, eat there and theres a lot of bathrooms.
So many wide open fields and a great place to host your little league!Bathrooms are not as I expected but still decent for a friendly neighborhood park. Bring your own wipes if you are a clean freak.
Clean. Surprised the bathroom wasnt more fancy. Overall nice park
Beautuful park but grass needs to be added to the bare dirt & weeded part to right off San Juan
Beautiful and clean park. Very nice
Newly Discovered Park love it here with lots of excercisng to do whether walking or biking or running. Great shady areas for picnics or hanging out with friends or family.
Very clean & well maintained park. The city of Irvine does a great job with this park.
The bougainvilleas have bloomed beautifully more than ever with the recent rain!
I love it. The kids playground is huge. No homeless. The whole park is immense. Very safe. Love it.

Nice park, if not a little crowded
Its a beautiful park in a quiet neighborhood. Huge location right next to city hall. Great area to walk, do yoga, or play with the kiddos!
What a beautiful park. A gem in the middle of Irvine.
Very big, spacious park for all. Kids can play, bike. Lot of rest areas. Soccer, tennis areas. The park looks awesome and the beauty is at peak during spring time when flower blossoms.
This is a great park. Immaculately maintained and big, with multiple sports fields (baseball, soccer, tennis courts). Clean, lots of seating, shade, playgrounds, restrooms, water fountains, great landscaping and pretty good parking availability - although one lot does get tight for big events.
We love this park, it has 2 sections - for little ones and for grown ups kids: slides, swings, sand, shelters, where you can celebrate birthdays etc...
Very spacious and shady park
Huge wide open space with facilities for Tennis, Soffer, Baseball/Softball, grilling, running and just enjoying the sun - all right next to city hall.Almost never crowded and theres ample parking and bathrooms. Everything is wheelchair ramped but some of the sidewalk slopes are a little aggressive.I come here to ride my skateboard and play Pokemon Go; if you play Wizards Unite and Ingress its probably similarly good. Included a screenshot shot of the Pokemon stops and gyms.
Amazing Park! Could use more parking, but not too bad!
Great place to go if you play pokemon go.
This is one of my favorite parks to take my toddler! There are 2 large playground structures, a tot lot, and plenty of sand to play in. There are bucket swings, regular swings, and a tire swing. The park has nice restrooms that are well kept and lots of covered picnic areas for use. A few large ball fields and large open grass areas are some highlights that this park features. Theres also a beautiful area with pergolas covered with pink flowers and a large water fountain in the center.
Great fun for children. They use organic products on their grass so children and pets are safe to roll on.
Its great Park to enjoy the day with family and friends
I love this park! Lots of activity. Soccer and baseball games, community events, a playground and picnic areas, and great walking paths where a lot of people bring dogs.

People dont wear face mask and no keeping 6 feet away from each other
Pleasure park. Toddler love it.
As I was walking through a field full of weeds near the parking lot I thought to myself that if I lived nearby I would bring a shovel there and build some jumps and ride my bike on them, but I live far away. So much potential.
Fun place for kids of all ages - 1-infinity. Well maintained.
Deanna stadium was great. Got to see some amazing softball
My favorite park in Irvine. Our kids 6 and 3 love the playground. Lots of grass yo play.

A very long overdue review for this park. I lived across the street from the Bill Barber Park for 14 years and absolutely 100% love it.The park spans two blocks and has nearly every kind of amenity anyone could need except for aquatics. The park consists of 3 huge baseball fields, tennis courts, playground area, sitting area with a fountain in the middle, rose gardens, shaded and non shaded areas, a baseball stadium, covered picnic tables, and plenty of parking. Its also adjacent to the City Hall and the Police Station. Why I love this park? Well, when I lived in Irvine it was convenient to just pop across the street and walk it, enjoy, bring a blanket, books, lunch, have gatherings, events, etc. it was a safe place to walk, exercise, and be outside and it was clean. Really clean.Very very rarely was the park overcrowded and full of masses of people. The occasions where it would be filled with masses of people were when the city held the Irvine Global Village Festival, a community wide event. It was always a fun event. The city of Irvine and the events planning committee were very well organized for this annual event. But, outside of the annual event the Bill Barber Park was pretty quiet and not overly crowded, it really was a wonderful pleasant place to be and enjoy. And it was well kept up. I miss having such a beautiful place so close by.
Its a nice and well-kept park with plenty of green grass to roll on, multiple barbeque grills, and tables and seats to enjoy food. This is a perfect place for a family outing - I see people celebrating their childrens birthdays here all the time. There is also a baseball field, a little playground for kids and two fountains. In the evening, you can spot rabbits running about. Also a good place to take pictures, especially in the summer when all the flowers burst with colors. The park also has restrooms, which is always a plus.
Good food at a good price
