Wonderful farm. We went during the pumpkin patch event. Took a tractor pull ride around the farm and was able to pick our own pumpkin and dont vegetables. They have a lovely farmers market and gift shop. Looking forward to the festival of lights event. The hydroponic strawberry set up is unlike any set up Ive seen. Staff was friendly and funny. Just be aware, port-a-potties only
Clean, vibrant and all around beautiful farm. Friendly and helpful staff to help guide experience. Relaxing and informational ride with a lot to see, hundreds of painted pumpkins, halloween costume wearing scarecrows, spider infested crops, and a hands on picking experience. 10/10 will be going again to visit for strawberries!
We drove from Los Angeles to the“Hikari Festival Lights “ 12/5/20 and it was not was I expected! Me and my family were very disappointed very short maybe less than 10 min and didn’t really like the decorations. I wished they had more for the kids to enjoy. The price was not worth it Christmas is my favorite season and and these drive thru events are not the same as walking and enjoying the moment but I get it all due to Covid! But for the same reason Drive thru events should more exciting. This place has an amazing pumpkin patch but today was not what I expected.
First time at Tanaka farms! took my toddler to the Santa wagon ride. We had a blast! what a great first time. Everyone was super friendly, from the checking, to our tour guide Vanessa to Vero the lady who helped us inside the open Market. What beautiful energy all these ppl had, so welcoming, so warm, and funny, this makes u go back for more! And thank you, for honoring the veterans, by waving the entrance fee! ... we got to pick kale, carrots and radish, got home and made an amazing kale potato soup with pickled radish on the sidel. Delicious veggies!.... Santa Claus was super sweet and friendly
We went to the Tanaka pumpkin patch drive through and it was wonderful! The drive through was so well organized with extremely happy/courteous workers, delicious treats and plenty of pumpkins to choose from. The farm restaurant was affordable, delicious and convenient. There are plenty of photo ops. The trip was also highly educational as we learnt more about different vegetables and the family farmers. We were asked multiple times at checkpoints if were having a good time. I can tell they really cared about our experience. Im also amazed that each and everyone we talked to was happy, kind and had a great personality. I would definitely recommend going even during covid times because their protocol was very throughout.
Went to see the Hikari Christmas lights at Tanaka Farms....enjoyed the lights and especially the scare crows. The event was reallt organized and the employees all so friendly and professional. Another great event at Tanaka Farms!!
Good selection and pretty affordable Pick youre own pumpkins. And options for pay by the pound. (99¢ per)The store at the end is nice as well for fresh bread, we got the Jalapeño and Cheddar loaf, a pumpkin sweet bread loaf, and a jar of Raw Sage Honey Comb (16$ I believe)The tour is 25$ per and felt about 45 minutes and worth it since it you get a tour/info and to pick your own veggies(more on that below) and Pumpkin! I recommend sunscreen or an umbrella while you ride! Saw a family doing that lolThe strawberries werent in season I believe since we only saw the set up, but no berries. The Scarecrow competition is a cool thing and you can go online to vote! The Vegetables were just ok, there is a section you stay in to choose from and a lot of it seemed picked, but ask your guide and theyll help you find nicer/bigger picks.Lastly the pumpkin part is as big as you can carry out yourself. (About 50-100 feet to a wheelbarrow that is) we got a big Orange and a Big White, probably about 12-15 pounds each)
Excellent place to take the family in these times of social distancing. Each party is scheduled minutes apart in order to keep up with the CDC guidelines for social distancing. Body temperatures were taken upon entrance to the field and face coverings are required. Had a good time doing a safe active outdoors with my children and being physically active at the same time. Highly recommended. Schedule your outing online today. Dont forget to check their fresh produce upon exiting, their are wonderfully fresh.
The wagon ride was so much fun for the whole family. We had an entire seating area to ourselves for our family of 8. Loved the pumpkin cannon, drive thru animal area and safe conditions of the whole experience. The farm is so beautiful at this time of year and all the decorations were so festive! Plenty of photo ops along the way and wonderful to pick veggies and pumpkins. Will be back next year!
Cute farm. Great for kids. The only thing is that their website is misleading when they say you get to pick a pumpkin off the vine when the pumpkins they provided looked bought and definitely werent on a vine. The tractor ride was very short.
Kids loved everything. Great family experience. Their favorite thing was the pumpkin cannon. Mine was the pumpkin hill. Favorite scarecrow was the jack skeleton & Elsa. Good family time for COVID times
It was our first time there but its $25 a person for the wagon ride which includes getting a pumpkin to take home. Just disappointed that they told us my 3year old son had be able to carry his free pumpkin. They should offer kid prices if they want kids to carry their own. Overall it seem pretty quick for $80 bucks (3 people plus the tax) they did have empty stall near the exit for like food stands but with Covid arent going to have that this year. We also bought a light for when we carve our pumpkin for $7 that didnt even work! Well skip this pumpkin patch the next couple of year. We have been to and recommend Underwood Farms in Moorpark its cheaper and they have a corn maze, more live animals, rides for little kids, food, and bigger shops.
It was our first time visiting there and was so interesting. We’ve had so much fun we’ve got the tour walk in $18 fir each person which took 45 min they took us all around the farm and they had 4 stops and let us to pick up our vegetables and it was some washed vegetables so they gave us to try so fresh and organic. It was a unique experience for our 5 years old. Also they had 2 areas available for out door private party.
Visiting Tanaka Farms every year for Halloween to pick pumpkins off the vine has been one of our family traditions for years. There is a hay maze, wagon rides and you even have the chance to pick other produce. Fun experience with the entire family and a great photo opportunity.
What a terrific place for family fun. Their prices are very reasonable and the tour is a must!!!! All the employees are friendly, informative and most helpful. During this crazy COVID scare, Tanaka Farms is literally a breath of fresh air.
Everyone was so nice and welcoming! It was a great safe trip with the family!
The H Fam Bam YouTube channel had a blast. Loved every moment of it. Such an amazing place to make great memories with the family and have an awesome fun time. The kids never stop smiling. From the moment we pulled up we felt very welcoming. Everyone at Tanaka Farms today were so amazing and helpful. It was our first time here and we have to say what an awesome experience. Thank you and we will for sure see you again soon.
Had a great time at the drive thru pumpkin patch. I think its perfect for younger kids loots to see and learn, we received squash seeds, kettle corn and candy corn samples... and my son was so excited to pick a pumkin
Great experience doing the drive through farm tour and pumpkin picking! Tons of great samples, picturesque photo ops, beautiful pumpkins, and COVID precautions made me feel very safe there!
Beautiful farm! Great pumpkin picking experience! Bonus got to pick some cilantro and radishes which was neat.cant wait to come back!
Tanaka farms did a fantastic job with the pumpkin patch drive-thru. Everything was well planned timed and SUPER safe. Best way to pickup a pumpkin in 2020 by far...
A great socially distant outing for our family during these crazy times. The kids enjoyed the in car scavenger hunt, the scarecrows, the treats and the educational facts throughout the fram.
We went to Tanaka Farms last year it was alot of fun and this year we were afraid that we wouldnt be able to go.Well this year may have been even more fun than last year. The way they have everything set up is awesome. The staff is just as friendly as ever, the food is just as good as it was last year, the best part is theres no crowd to move through since your in the car the whole time. You even get to pick your own pumpkin, the one time they let you get out of the car, from the pat h that they have. With everything thats been going on this was a welcome and much needed break.I would recommend this to anyone, especially people with kids.
We love this place. Things are a little different this year because of the pandemic, but still fun and safe. Staff was very accommodating of my sons special needs.
Such a great place! We were excited to take our 7 year old grandson to the newly reopened Farm Tour and U-Pick. Fabulous measures observed re: social distancing and everyone in masks, much smaller group per tour to accommodate. We picked carrots, Cherry tomatoes and strawberries - all fresh & delicious. Tanaka Farms has done a beautiful job during this pandemic, helping other farms and community members in need. They are to be applauded and supported for their efforts. Were hooked!
We were invited to experience Tanaka farms for the first time & we had a great family outing with my 2 little boys(ages 4 & 6) . It was nice to enjoy some safe fall fun! We felt comfortable/safe the whole time, the staff was helpful and patient (with all my little guys questions) and we even got some cute pics!
I have getting the vegetables box delivered from Tanaka Farms thanks to my daughter since the pandamic. Its like opening presents on Christmas day, it really brightens my day. The produce taste what theyre supposed to taste. I may never go back to a grocery store again. Ive taken my children to Tanaka Farms when they were toddlers and now they are all grown up, and my son will take my grandson there. This is a treasure!
What fun! The contactless shopping was a great experience for my 89 year old aunt. She was amazed at the fresh produce and polite workers who tirelessly filled orders. My only complaint was about online ordering. It was a little difficult to navigate the site in the beginning. Also, I did not receive all of my order. Shouldve checked before I left, but they had forgotten to bring out part of my order (the $32 nectarines). Had to return to pick them up. At least I didnt get all the way home!
Its unfortunate its so restricted due to all the covid junk but great to see a family run farm still here in OC. Big pumpkin patch thats awesome for the kids and there were lots of adults there picking as well. Good produce available for drive up. Pretty cool experience especially for kids. Keep up the good work!
It was very fun. very covid friendly. They keep you entertained good for younger children.
Best time is first thing in the morning! Kids and legs are fresh and the animals are hungry to feedings. Parking is online only for Halloween but it’s a dirt lot. Bring boots or prepare to wash your shoes later. Fresh veggies and mazes are fun. The 4H animals and petting area is a blast! They take credit card and cash. The food is really good too!
Tanks farms did a great job putting together a Covid friendly pumpkin experience. The wait to get in was tough with little ones but once you started driving through the patch the line moved and keeps the kids well entertained. My one complaint and the reason for the deduction in stars is 2 year olds and younger were free. Great right- accept my 2 year old was left out at every station. He wasn’t allowed a pumpkin, candy corn, popcorn, pumpkin seeds etc. Had I known I would have gladly purchased his ticket. Obviously mom and dad let him have all of our stuff but it was a bummer that he wasn’t going to get a pumpkin and if we wanted one we had to get it a different spot- so he would have felt very left out. Since he wasn’t allowed to pick it out at the patch like the rest of the family.
We went on a weekday in the afternoon. Although I think the strawberry picking tour is priced kinda steep. . . I was very happy with our experience on the free u-pick veggie tour that day. We got celery, swish chard, snap peas, carrots, and one or two other things. My kids really had a great time picking out veggies I didnt know how to cook. There are all sort of goodies in the main building. The rescue chickens were cool to feed and pet. Overall a really nice experience and the property is pretty cool and everyone was nice and accommodating. I will definitely go back at different seasons to get other veggies when they have the free u-pick.
Extremely knowledgeable and courteous staff. They offered me plenty of free stuff after the tour and throughout the year, offer various deals and events even in COVID times. The veggies I picked were delicious and healthy. It was a really peaceful area in the middle of a major metropolis. The only hiccup was that they needed a hotspot to verify that Ive purchased my ticket online. They cannot manually verify this. My only suggestion is to make WiFi available for all guests. Theyre model of business is sustainable and offers a great service to the community.
Great time with fam at Tanaka Farms this Fall 2020
A great experience for all. What a great way to get into the fall and Halloween spirit.
Such a wonderful place to bring young kids. I have been twice with my kids school. Once in October for the pumpkin patch and once in April for the Strawberries. Each time extremely memorable. The property is so well maintained and you can easily spend a few hours between activities and exploring.I recommend taking a tractor ride if theyre available.
A great place for a field trip or family trip once or twice every year since they have different activities depending on the season, such as pick your own pumpkin during the fall and pick your own strawberries at another season. Depending on what vegetables are in season, you get to pick that too.In October, we got to pick pumpkin, onion, radish and cilantro. They also have a tractor trailer ride that you get to see all of the farm, a corn maze and an animal farm. Fun experience for kids.Been here over 6 or 7 times, each time is slightly different. Sometime they may have a small farmers market open, special activities for kids to do, offering grilled lunch menu or special menu for the season or no hot food offering at all. But they always have a small “market” at the checkout/exit area you can make purchases.Tips:- Just come here dressed in a pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. It’s all dirt roads or mud you may be treading through depending on the weather.- Also, no restrooms ONLY portable potties! So try to take care of your business before you arrive. Especially if you’ve got little kids.- Food vending is not always open, so call before arriving if you don’t plan on bringing your own sacked lunch. Or, buy lunch elsewhere before arriving. The menu here is on the pricy side.
Best strawberries anywhere. Worth the drive. The young lady even opened up early when she saw me waiting.
Beautiful at any season, but I love the pumpkin patch. Got great pictures. A lot to do around the grounds (hay ride, corn maze, petting zoo, and amazing decor for awesome pictures.) Great stuff to buy at the store at the exit. Picked out our family pumpkin to carve. So fun! Great place!
This was our second year going to Tanaka Farms for their pumpkin patch and both times have been amazing. They have so many activities, that you could spend HOURS there and just make a day of it. The prices are average for activities like this in the area, and the staff is super friendly! I lost my hat during the hay ride and I thought it was a goner, but I told them when I got off and before the end of my trip they returned my hat. I was so shocked since I figured they probably wouldn’t care enough to look. I was already planning on coming back next year, but after this trip we’ll definitely be back year after year!
You cant beat the fresh organic produce they sell at Tanaka Farms. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, they have streamlined the purchasing process to protect customers so you can buy your fruits and vegetables from your car as you drive down the aisle. The shopping experience can take longer when it gets crowded so make sure to plan your trip in advance.I also recommend taking advantage of strawberry picking when they offer it. Youll never taste sweeter strawberries and it makes for a fun family activity, especially for young kids.
Ive gone here so many times with my family. This year however was rediculious. Not that anyone cares but I live about 30 mins from here. We got the kids pumped, ready and in the car.As we pull into the parking lot theres 1 sign saying we need to get our tickets online. The place was NOT packed or full so obviously I go online to get our tickets. I couldnt for the life of me find where to buy these tickets. So we walked up to the entrance where maybe 20 people were standing and asked if I was even on the right sight.Well apparently they were sold out. With about 100 people on the property.. (This whole place is outside incase anyone hasnt seen it and its a pretty big lot of land.)If you went successfully. How did you know, beforehand, that you had to buy tickets? And how did you get them? And there was zero indication on their websight that the tickets were sold out.Needless to say, for me, Im taking my family elsewhere this year.
Fun pumpkin farm even with a drive-thru produce stand all without getting down the car
Had a great time with my family here. Great place, friendly staff
A wonderful experience, so much fun! So educational for kids, especially those who have never been on a real farm.
The best, but last I checked, no vertical hydroponics. Sad waste of acreage/resources. Time to go outside the comfort zones.
Great time! Staff was pleasant and informative.
Great place to pick your own strawberries. During COVID you can pick up your fruits and veggies here still. I heard they’ll have pumpkin patch still this year!
A great local spot with an amazing selection of fresh fruits and veggies. Absolutely delightful!
Awesome family friendly farm with lots of activities for kids and some for adults. I love the whole farm to table nature at Tanaka Farms. I did the U-Pick vegetable tour and the u-pick strawberries. Great tour guide named Pat who talked about all the varieties of produce on the farm. Also gave me tips on whats best to plant in Spring. I never knew you could eat the broccoli flowers and it was delicious! As we drove past the strawberries, a sweet fragrance filled the air and got everyone excited to pick some strawberries. Definitely recommend for families and adults. Im coming back to pick some corn when they are ready!
Took the family there for the tractor ride. My boys are 6 and 3 an they loved it .
Best local farm! I love visiting every season!!!! I recommend to everyone!
Love this place. Teaches my children about good food and how it grows as well as inspires them to eat their fruits and veggies too. I love that this farm is here and full of friendly people. I go several miles out of my way to make trips here.
Nothing interesting for kids. Just pumpkin and cilantro. No any pick up fruits or vegetables.Week ago we are visiting underwood farms, its real farm.
Had such a fun day today! Adorable, clean well maintained farm with kind caring staff! Great way to spend a fall morning and get your holiday pumpkins!!
Thank you Tanaka Farms staff for creating a safe, spooky and engaging environment!!
Love supporting our local farm
Great family outing. Educational and fun!
I like farm tour. The farm is not too mush big bit nice atmosphere. There have lots kind of vegetable ex. broccoli, kela, corn, small white onion, carrot, sweet green beans. We can try it by fresh harvest. I though it good for children for learn how to eat fresh vegetable. I love last one part is harvest fresh strawberry to take away and eat fresh. Yum!!
Interesting place has fresh vegetable and fruit.
I love visiting Tanaka Farms! Freshest produce around! Best strawberries in town! Take a tour on the tractor-pulled wagons and taste all of the produce grown on the property. Don’t forget to bring a grocery bag with you to bring home all the extra produce you get on the tour! Pick & eat your own strawberries, but be aware of how much you eat, stomach aches are a common thing for those visitors who get carried away with the eating part of the strawberry picking experience. The strawberries are grown organically and with coconut husks instead of dirt so the fruit is clean to eat as soon as you pick it. I recommend trying their banana nut bread and granola in the farm shop, they have samples of each flavor to help you decide. This is a great place for people of all ages, for locals and tourists alike. It’s the perfect place to sample organic produce while learning about local organic farming in its natural setting.
Excellent service and det up during these trying times! Happy to support Tanaka-San and all the wonderful fresh fruits, vegetables, and delicious items. Cant wait to return.
Pumpkin patch was nice. Alot of freebies.
Nice experience. Liked the tour.
So many choices of fresh produce. Since the quarantine, produce in the grocery stores have been rooted right off the shelf. Some items I didnt even know couple degrade the way Ive seen. Im so excited.
Love coming here with my family everytime. There is always something exciting to do here.
Had a fun time with the family! Fun wagon ride around the farm and plenty of other fun things to do. Definitely recommend there bread for sale pumpkin or banana they are very delicious!
60$ for a 15 minute drive of Christmas lights. Not worth it at all
This is one of the best places I found in Orange County for pumpkins! The only thing that could have made it better was some shade umbrellas here and there. We took Grandma and grandpa with us for our first trip to the pumpkin patch and it got warm that day. It would be a great addition to keep in mind elderly visitors. Other than that great experience! People were friendly, maze was fun, petting zoo was a nice touch, and the pumpkin were of great range and quantity.
Great place to visit. Very friendly employees
This place is great. Fun for the whole family. All the workers are super friendly and helpful
This place is fun over all
Great place for fresh fruit and vegetables or a wagon ride to pick your own. Get Tanaka Farm themed Hello Kitty items while they last!
Yes thank you very much for all the good vegetables in the nice sweet corn in the greens I came home and cooked it all up now Im going to have it for dinner thank you very much
Love the pick your own experience!
I have done the new pickup option a couple of times, and its easy and the person bringing your order has a mask. They require masks for the drive through, which I see had a much shorter line on a weekday.
So much fun! Cant wait to go back!
Currently have a drive thru farmers market that has great service!
So much fun for all the kids! Theres so much for them to do. They get to pick veggies, and go to a petting zoo, plus pick out their pumpkin and go on a wagon ride. Good day trip.
I love Tanaka Farms - I have brought my daughter to their strawberry tours for the last 5 years it is great for families: strawberry picking is our favorite activity and their produce is delicious. * I can taste a difference in the produce here versus the store. I am glad to have Tanaka farms so close.
Drive thru works great! Right side car lane is for CSAS and online orders, left lane is for drive thru shopping where a friendly courteous staff walks along with the car while you let them know what you would like to have. They have markers for a 15 minute wait vs a 30 minute wait. I went at 3:30 pm Monday afternoon and waited about 10 minutes. Veggies looked fresh. Bought strawberries and blueberries, both good!
Tanaka farms is a hidden gem, your in house and normal city like things but you make the turn and then you are in another world. It’s absolutely beautiful and fun for the whole family! They have a petting zoo with chickens and bunnies!!! So cute! They have a giant sunflower maze, and you will be amazed I’ve never seen sunflowers this big!!! You can have a wagon ride around the farm for an extra price. They even have a grill where you can get fresh cooked food. You can even go to their store where they sell fresh produce from there farm and other cute things! Like Sanrio clothing items and who doesn’t love hello kitty?
Even though Underwood is closer to us, we make the drive here. Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch is more like a-la-carte pricing vs Underwood where its $20 to enter and you can do everything. The Sanrio Hello Kitty theme makes this place very unique.
Love their daily farmers market! Great service and quality produce!
Great place for the whole family.
These are the only words to use: the BEST! They have order ahead curbside and drive through.
Great place to learn, enjoy delicious crops and all with a helpful and awesome staff.
Fresh produce and friendly staff. Also fun place for the kids.
Wonderful place for the kids. A lot of fun activities and excellent food. Coming on the weekends can be a nightmare. It took roughly 30 minutes to park after exiting the freeway on a Saturday around 4pm. The terrain is dirt and some areas are hilly so come prepared. My kids loved picking out pumpkins and overall just a fun and friendly place for families.
Even though Underwood is closer to us, we make the drive here. Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch is more like a-la-carte pricing vs Underwood where its $20 to enter and you can do everything. The Sanrio Hello Kitty theme makes this place very unique.
Courteous staf good customer service
Nice and fun place.. very much friendly crew.. thanks guys.
Great time for the family
Fun place! Pick your own strawberries!
Very fun experience! A lot to see and do.
Great staff delicious farm grown produce. The snack bar food was a little disappointing considering all the great ingredients at hand. Overall very fun for kids or a date.
The farm tour tractor ride was really nice. You get to taste the various fruits and vegetables in harvest. In July there was water melon, honey dew, sweet corn, carrots, green beans, zucchini and cucumber! Nice to support local farmers.
