The park was good except for 2 things. Every other adult were not wearing masks either were their children. Older kids would not let kids use the Zip Line and when they were asked to go to the back of the line politely the kids cursed my wife in Pharsi. Their parents were not around. And were puting silver metal chairs from the tables to go on zip line. Very dangerous!!! I removed the chair. Then they went to the tables and grabbed the chairs and put them back on the zip line launching point.
Hands-down the fastest way to escape the city, and, with a few correct turns, be out of sight of any humans or man made buildings, etc., within 45 min (or less) from when you left IS |A city limits!Best part is, several local buses will even take you here very cheaply. Great trails, very beautiful. There is too many great things to do here than is possible to do justice with in a brief review. Get a good guidebook/map on this area, and Enjoy!Highly recommended. Just get off your lazy butt on a day off w/nice weather, and GO HERE. You will not regret it.
With all this Covid-19 situation, we needed this park to do what they do best. Concert from comfort of your vehicle says safety 1st, all while living a little bit. Some rules werent being followed by people and it didnt seem there was someone in charge trying to implement all that is stated on website when seeking details about event. I stay in my Lane so I still had a great time, but if rules wont be implemented maybe website needs to be updated to the actual flexibility of the place.
Third place is amazing 200 acres of public use recreation? Are you kidding me. Irvine City planners should be the standard by which all others attempt to model. 20 plus tennis courts, soccer fields, volleyball center and more! Makes me want to move to Irvine!!
This is a huge park! There are dozens of fields. There is Baseball, soccer, football and multi use fields, and multiple of each. Literally miles of paths flow through the park for walking, running, biking, and exc... There are multiple bathrooms and vending machines near the bathrooms too. There are a ton of tennis and volleyball courts. Everything is lit up at night also! Sweet!! So much to do here! I wish I checked this park out sooner. Oh, and finally there is the famous huge orange balloon ride here too!
Beautiful open park and space! And had a concert and social distancing was done as well with big circles for each group of people. Well planned event and just a Beautiful park especially for soccer players!
Free parking everywhere. Farm and food lab free entry to walk around and learn about gardening and composting. Mix of elements at the playground near the carousel for young children to explore. 2 swings for children 3 and under. Zipline swing was fun and easy to use. Play tower with 2 slides and 2 climbing areas. Sand pit, balancing steps, and rock playground for toddlers. My 3 year old niece didnt want to leave. Grass, picnic tables, and seating in the area. Bathrooms where open.
Loved this place. Lot of play grounds and space. You can host partys. Kids can drive bike, kick scooters. Cool place. Due to covid rides are stopped.
I love coming here around sunset to walk! There’s plenty of well lit pathways and parking, even on game days with all the sport teams practicing. During the day, it can get kinda hot since there’s not a lot of shade. In addition to walking trails and sports fields, there’s a small merry go round and the hot air balloon ride. Also, on Sunday’s, there’s a Farmers Market here from 10-2. Don’t miss it!
Love this park.Except .....the benches made of the material that gets cold in winter and gets hot in summer... I wonder who is the genius that designed those benches... and what is the purpose of those benches if we cannot sit on them:)And those stuff that are supposed to be for kids entertainment are made out of rocks... I really don’t understand... why? What for? And how to play those? I mean why not make it from something that is more practical and easy to play for kids. :)
This is the best park! Lots of space, plenty of trails. Fields for soccer, baseball, volleyball. So fun
One of the nicer parks in the area and the weather is nice as well. It has great views of the city, a nice open dog park, and plenty of grass for people to sit.
Lots of open space. Very wide bicycle lane. Great balloon ride is pretty cool. Lots of parking
There is so much space here at Great Park! We love it. We can bike or walk the dog and get in at least a couple of miles. So great. I love that they also have facilities for tennis and soccer, so many soccer fields. We have done so much here. The one thing we have not yet done is go up in the big orange balloon. Maybe one day!
Very clean and organized sports complex. They have decent amount of bathrooms and snack machines for convenience. There is shade, at least at the baseball fields, but it is minimal. Good park to go to. Just be sure to take an umbrella or canopy.
Okay this place is massive and wonderful. we walked a lot of it and went in the gardens I had so much fun here and you have to sit and have tea it is so nice.
Fun for whole family and easy to be socially distant from others. Our kids love taking their scooters there.
Too crowded, hard to find courts, reservation upto only 1 hr. Seems like every tennis player in irvine comes here. Other than that, the courts are awesome.
Beautful setting to watch and play sports!! Amazing facility with nice clean bathrooms!
What a great place to take my grandsons to ride their scooters. I could see them far enough for them to enjoy the time together.
I visit here very frequently, I really enjoyed the park itself to walk around and relax. But I went to one of those Portable Restrooms that was one of the closest restrooms. That thing was taunting, one of the most scariest things to walk into. You got stains all over the wall, the restroom was not clean, there are bugs all over the walls,on flies everywhere, and multiples amounts of feces in the toilet that was never flushed. But worst of all the toilet did not even work. Neither did the water to wash your hands, and there is no soap. The restroom door was not able to shut or lock so you had to hold it shut so the wind doesnt blow it open. But then for a park thats on a old base, Im surprised they dont have any Memorial spots for all the men and women who served our country on this base. This park is always so empty, they should really put in a drive-in theater. To get more people at this park. This all just looks like a big waste of money.
Beautiful place. Huge! Open space! Lots of room. Easy to maintain 6ft social distance.
Great open space park basketball courts volleyball nets soccer fields great place to hang out during Golden hour. The only thing I do wish is that they would put up at least one 18-hole disc golf course there they have the space for it:) doesnt seem very popular yet as long as theres no soccer games seems like its locals only. Id enjoy it before more people start becoming aware of it:)
Very clean, impecable. Few people, great time with my wife and 4-year old.
This park is clean and open. I love the timeline. With all sporting events being canceled right now, its not crowded and a good place to take in the outdoors and maintain social distancing. I was a little annoyed that someone let their dog poop in the middle of the soccer field and not clean it up when I went there this weekend. That is not normal for the park and hopefully is not going to become regular behavior of the patrons. The soccer fields are artificial grass, but they are bouncy and not as painful as other fake turf if you happen to slide or fall on it. They also have batting cages now.
Its huge, lots of places to park. Great place for sporting events and for a nice walk, jog, or bike. Love the wwii plane, carousel, and giant balloon
This place has gotten better over the years. There are a ton of fields and courts for everything from volleyball to soccer and tennis. Im surprised a lot of people dont even know the existence of the orange balloon, but at this park is where it lies. Or if youre PoGo player, it has a ton of stops and gyms while taking a scenic walking path through the park. Not sure of the crowded times, cause with my random visits it has been both packed and absolutely empty during the day. Plenty of lights placed around for a night stroll too, for the safety. If you havent been here in a couple years then its worth it to return and check out all the changes that have been made here. Almost forgot that they have an ice rink now, Great Park Ice & Fivepoint Arena. I havent really checked those out though. Not in my interests.
It was my first time going there. And i love it there!
Fun drive in concert series. Thanks for finding a way to still have fun during the pandemic
Awesome park huge. Great for teniss soccer and base ball and just running around freely
Great, open door space with the cleanest public bathrooms youll ever find. Lots of trails and green shady areas.
Have to say I am impressed with whats been achieved here. Still plenty of work to be done but its a huge project afterall. We have some of the best local facilities anywhere now for sports I would imagine.
Amazing walking paths, cool playground area, lots of wildlife running about and the views are spectacular!!!
Big park. So nice here.
Great open spaces and sports fields / courts. Can get hot in the summer - not much shade
Awesome international festival! Fun for kids and a great place for the whole family to enjoy outdoor activities. They had food/ drink booths, performances, cute petting zoo. Reasonable pricing, parking is free and they provided golf cart rides to and from the parking lots. I cant wait to attend this festival next year
Awesome park with excellent facilities, fields, and parking. Lots to do with lots of space.
Many activities, food market on the weekend, festivies, and even new homes, schools, workplaces and more. Come by and explore as we build a new community.
Walking around this park, you have no doubt that you’re in Irvine. From the immaculate trimmed bushes and the state of the art playground equipment, all the way to the park restrooms - ((complete with DYSON hand dryers!)) I’m at least relieved to see that Irvine puts some of its tax money to good use!
Big park with lots of soccer fields, both grass and artificial grass. There is usually a team that plays ultimate frisbee during lunch as well as soccer. Great to take my dog for a walk here. They have lots of dog clean up stations and trash cans around the park.
I was there today as part of a coalition to have a Botanical Garden included in the Great Park plan. Every single person that I met and spoke to so positive and thrilled that we were really pushing for this. We need to have botanical garden in Great Park. It was a beautiful day people were extremely friendly and there was a lot to do.
Really enjoyed the Irvine Global Village Festival. I was happy to see that after you pay the entrance fee you dont have to pay for every single game, activity, etc. There was even free face painting, candy floss, nail painting etc. Food from all corners of the earth to buy, drinks as well. Really enjoyed it.
Great place to visit and enjoy the weekend evening.
Really neat park. It seems endless. There are so many fields for sports. A big soccer stadium and concert venue. A brand-new Ive rink is really nice. There are any cool areas for special events. We were there for the Diner En Blanc. It was really nice especially with the big balloon and carousel as part of the backdrop!
Huge area for all sorts of sports activities. Theres a farmers market on every Sunday. Nice produce, relatively cheap and fresh. But it can definitely be bigger and attract more people. A wonderful place over all and its definitely a place to everyone
I cant think of a better name to describe it! This is a Great Park.
This park has amazing facilities. Multitude of soccer, baseball, softball fields, open spaces, tennis courts, ice skating/ ice hockey.
This is the best park in town, clean and safe, thanks guys for this awesome place for our families! And its FREE! Love this place..!
Good park and balloon ride need to pick a good weather day. 2 doller for 1 ride and 3 dollor for all day is not bad.
Amazing park lots and lots of fun stuff to doBallon Rides....soccer..baseball..etcc
Its huge and great as its name suggests. Had been there for the Irvine Global Village Festival. It was fun to explore cultures of different countries. Yet to have the famous balloon ride though.
Massive park in orange county with many fields for different sports. Its open late. And you can visit many modern playgrounds for children. Events happen here often and there are plenty of family oriented activities you can do here as well, some free of charge and others with a small fee
Amazing place for the whole family!
We have always passed this place on the freeway but came down for a lacrosse tournament.Excellent place for lacrosse. (Tribz Tournament is one of the best).Overall we had a great time and there is so much to see and do. Parking at the time was not easy as it was full due to a tournament but overall I would assume on a normal day the parking would be fine. The bathrooms are very well kept up, we had a few thousand people at this tourney and they were spic and span.We give this place a big thumbs up!
Great place to go for a walk or run plenty of things to see!
The sports fields have reopened. Baseball Im and soccer practice were in full swing. There were also people walking, riding bikes and scooters. The balloon rides are still closed.
Great Park. Not much more to be said. Fields were very well maintained. Trash was taken care of and parking was easy.
We had a very fun time
Before we visited the park we called to inquire about the attractions and costs. We arrived at the park to learn everything is closed. Apparently Californians don’t know how to act when water falls from the sky. Since it rained they shut everything down! They could have told us on the phone before we drove out here.
Fun place, lacks enough shade, but trees are still growing.
4.5 stars... fabulous soccer facilities with bathrooms placed in multiple locations. Only negative is the lack of a concessions stand. The small cafe is an automated kiosk canteen. It has drinks, chips and limited snacks with a very small selection of premade sandwiches. Staff at the information desk is friendly and helpful.
Very nice an huge park with a lot of activity to do. Always clean and grases groomed perfectly. We always go there for our soccer games and it is always the best experienc.
Super impressive park for Irvine! Never seen a park like this before.
Large open space.
Really lovely soccer playground
I attended the Irish fair on Saturday with my friend and it was a very nice atmosphere very family friendly there was a 4 or 5 bands and they all played good music. It seems like a lot of people attended but the place is so spacious that it was not crowded. We had a great time! My only suggestion is to have canopies over the tables and benches that are already there so that there is more places to sit down and eat or take a break. There was other shady places but the picnic tables are all spaced out and needed their own shade covers.
Paying tax Irvine resident since 1984, great parks in Irvine but try using one, kicked off in minutes. Can’t use a small grass area to play 4x4 pickup. Why not designate free use on atleast one field. I’ve talked to people in charge and basically told by reservation only and pay arm and a leg. Forced to play in Newport and Tustin no issues, shame!
This place is awesome even though it’s still being constructed. Immaculate describes what I witnessed. The mile history lesson is amazing. The reflecting ponds are serene. I could go on and on. Trust me and visit this place
Far-flung area - we visited for the Irvine Global Village Fair and loved it! Easy parking, well-kept grounds.
Lots of space, very clean. Easy access to bathrooms, bubblers, parking (no matter the field you are playing at) and vending machines. My only gripe is that the soccer nets have a lot of holes and really should be changed out.
Very nice park. Alot of open space and a few other activities to keep the kids busy.
So clean and so many things to do here. Safe family fun.
I live visiting the Farm and Food lab!
So many activities to do at this park! Must go on the helium balloon ride for a beautiful view of Irvine.
Not a lot to do other than the orange balloon ride.
This park is HUGE! First time there and I had a great time.Everything is very clean.Very nice place.
Big open space for variety of events. Plenty of parking space.
This place is awesome even though it’s still being constructed. Immaculate describes what I witnessed. The mile history lesson is amazing. The reflecting ponds are serene. I could go on and on. Trust me and visit this place
It look nice come on enjoy the fun
You can walk your dog and enjoy this amazing place. Its fun
This park is HUGE! First time there and I had a great time. Sure is going to be GREAT working right next to it....
Its a good place for field games soccer, lacrosse etc. Downside not enough shade for spectators. And not nearly enough parking.
Nice place to relax and watch the soccer games. Lots of shade from trees yhat are closed to the fields. Everything is very clean. Just take your own snacks, the snack bar was close if there is one there.
This place is awesome even though it’s still being constructed. Immaculate describes what I witnessed. The mile history lesson is amazing. The reflecting ponds are serene. I could go on and on. Trust me and visit this place
Great Big Park. Nice walking paths and bike paths. Unfortunately the playground is under construction.P. S. Great for playing AR games like Pokémon GO and Harry Potter
I do not hate this place, this is because city authorities lied about what was planned to be built here as the largest park in the nation. City is selling the city lands to developers to build residential building that not only is opposite of what supposed to be built, but also adding to the city traffic in a fast rate.
This is a large sports complex with multiple sports fields. Quality of the soccer fields was very good, for the most part. Some of them artificial turf. We were there during the North Huntington Beach Soccer tournament and our only complaint was the parking. Most parking areas close to the fields are small and fill up quickly. To get a spot, youll have to walk some distance.
This place is like paradise for sports-lovers.
Great to take my dog for a walk here. They have lots of dog clean up stations and trash cans around the park.
Today we went to the farmers market and stock up on fresh vegetables
