What can I say...I was not expecting to find Vegan/Vegetarian options on a Sunday night at Midnight... thanks to a dismissive attitude from a local pizza joint..I googled Vegetarian near me..and low and behold...The Sinking Ship appears... their menu immediately grabbed my attention... I arrived to a courteous environment..great Beer selection...awesome music... my food was awesome!! And I will definitely be back when I visit my parents in Indy again...

I visited this bar on a whim while traveling through the area. What a great find! Food was great, drinks were decently priced, and service was fantastic. So...I went out of my way...about a 45 minute drive to take some friends to eat here again. I would love to come on a Friday night to see what it is like then. I will be back. Great little place you got there!

Hearing this was one of the most celebrated vegan food joints in Indianapolis, I could not wait to try this place out. I was really excited to bring my husband because he’s a huge beer fan, and the bar and beer menu are damn good. Service was outstanding. Ambiance and decor, super awesome, quirky, bold and eclectic. Love the patio on the back. Love the whole vibe. And the vegan food was very satisfying bar food. Huge portions! We are Milwaukee native and super bummed that we don’t live nearby. It will be a must stop every visit from now on!

Great little bar with good food and an amazing beer selection. We at at the bar and the service was excellent. They have a bunch of TVs for your viewing pleasure. There are also pinball machines and what looked like some board games next to the door. Beer stickers and signs everywhere. If I ever return to Indianapolis Ill definitely be stopping in here again. Almost forgot, they have a lot of vegan options.

Good concept. Decent small menus . I didn’t find much selection that was “out of the box”... vegan nacho cheese was good. Their vegan ranch for my side salad was tasteless and basically tasted like pure real mayo (nasty). Mac and cheese is very small for a meal. Didn’t like the jack fruit (basically a tiny bit of jack fruit mixed with a load of sweet onion). BF enjoyed his burger - very large and filling . I’m not into the atmosphere at all... dark and grungy, not necessarily what I would call “inviting and pleasant” ... not my style but great place for those that are into it I guess. Pinball machines were nice. A bit on the pricey side for the little you get (for anything that isn’t a burger). Overall very under-impressed.Waitress was a little everywhere for us. Probably just an off day.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this establishment. The food is amazing, the concept is brilliant, and the decor was fascinating to look at! The vegan pickle fries literally blew my mind and I crave them all the time! The vegan menu was amazing, not extensive instead of just a few options! I would definitely be a regular if I lived closer!

The mix of vegan and carnivore options is well played.. and the spread of pinball machines adds an element of fun. The food is good and the prices arent bad, but Im subtracting a star for the seriously light pour on each of the two whiskeys I ordered. It would cost $100 to get drunk here

I was delighted with this eatery/bar for lunch. The beer selection was full of options. My favorite thing was the menu which was creatively split into Vegan/Meat eating. My Vegan companion enjoyed the meal. We both loved the decor-especially the pinball machines. I will definitely be back and would recommend this So-Bro experience to others.

Always a great experience. The atmosphere is really chill during the day, and its a fun night out as well. As a wannabe pinball wizard, I appreciate the 9 to 11 pins they keep in rotation. Recent add is Stranger Things. Havent even mentioned the food yet, and thats the best part. They have both Omniverous and vegan menus.

The Sinking Ship is my favorite dive bar. The food is bar food but well above average, perhaps even elevated. I had the chili dogs and they were fantastic. They have all the drinks you could hope for, a wide selection of beers, including locals. More importantly they have cider. But most importantly; you can always find hockey on the bar TVs during hockey season.

Always awesome food, great service (if youre not a pretentious jerk), and a perfect atmosphere. One of the only places where one can go and expect to see a real sport like hockey on the screen and rest assured that no party buses will be stopping in. The food caters to all crowds, but the vegetarian fare is truly awesome... get the seitan wings with Korean BBQ sauce, you will not be disappointed.

Its like a grungy punk bar from the 80s, but clean & with good food. Seems like it would probably be a lot of fun on a Friday night with friends. But, my husband and I went on a Thursday at 6pm. It was relatively quiet & not very crowded. I got the Buff Cobb salad. It was nice: shredded buffalo chicken, hard boiled egg, avocado, blue cheese, tomato, onion (cut really too thick), & I think maybe some bacon? I found myself wishing it had croutons. The ranch seemed house made; I found it to be a little on the thick side but tasty. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich which we both thought was kind of run of the mill. It came with potato chips which were really good; kind of like a very tight, tiny waffle cut & dusted with what seemed to be a combo of bbq, sour cream, & cheddar. We also got the country mac which had smoked sausage & bbq sauce. It was pretty good. I loved their noodles; large, thick elbow. Their sauce was pretty saucy but not super cheesy. There was a piece of cheese baked over the top but I think it would be better if it were mixed in with the sauce. I was not crazy about the bbq sauce either (but bbq sauce preferences are completely personal).

I wanted to like the Sinking Ship. It had a fun biker bar vibe and my date was vegan so whats not to like? Draft beer selection was decent. Bottled beer even better. Im not from the area so I had the rare occurance where I hadnt tried a lot of them. The bartender said they I couldnt do a sample before deciding. Cant say Ive heard that from a bar but whatever, not an unreasonable policy. For food, we the wings, pineapple express black bean burger w/ fries, and seitan gyro wrap. The wings were really good with Korean BBQ sauce. Burger and wrap were honestly kinda dry. I was surprised that somewhere specializing in vegan food had such a disappointing meatless burger.I was there in March and came in during one of the final four basketball games. I was surprised it wasnt on one of the many TVs in place of the old hockey games they had on, so I politely asked the bartender to put it on for the second half. The bartender said they didnt play basketball in this bar. I made the mistake of asking why and she said only hockey was allowed. Rules are rules...until some old WWE match showed up on one TV. Then, not a half hour later she changed another TV to Mrs. Doubtfire. Yes, the 1994 hit movie showing Robin Williams in drag (see pic below). Its a great movie but not for a Friday night at a bar. I asked around and other people around me wanted to see the overtime basketball game as well, but we just got more fake clotheslines and custody violation movies. The owner did some dirty trivia later in the evening, which was fun and partially redeeming. Still, the weird & inconsistent policies and ok food didnt sit well with me. Wasnt impressed but might different on another day.

Pretty solid bar. Good food, reasonable price for drinks, friendly bar tenders. Real solid place to spend a few hours hanging out.Definitely NOT hockey-centric though. Only playing 1/3 games available, metal over the stereo instead of the games, etc......No real complaints and I will probably go back; but based on their description I expected a relaxed sports bar and instead got a clean dive-bar that also has sports channels.

Absolutely one of the best places to get vegan food in the city. The entire non vegan menu has basically been made vegan and its amazing. So many options, all so delicious - you cant go wrong. Friendly waitstaff, fun atmosphere (punky/metal/horror) - and if in the past the super loud music out you off, good news, it is now at a very acceptable level! They also have great beer on tap and pinball machines for some fun times, and are open late (including the kitchen). Highly recommended.

Friendly bartender (unfortunately I forget his name), yummy food (highly recommend the chili cheese fries), and a well put together interior. Extremely less than average. I had heard so much hoopla about their vegan menu that I was hopeful that it could be somewhere my husband would enjoy. I got the chicken wings and curly fries for me and the cheese and mushroom sandwich for my husband. The fries were fried way too hard and the wings were not worth what I paid but they were good. My husband said the sandwich he had wasn’t worth it to him either. Won’t be going back.

I chose this place because I am plant based vegan. My Happy Cow app lead me to this place. The bartender was very helpful. The restaurant is not vegan but have quite a few vegan options. Mostly fried which I try to stay from. I ordered a black bean burger blackened with garden veggies and jalepenos. Unlike some residents there black bean burger is made from scratch. Although I have had better this burger was pretty tasty except for the monteray jack Teese (cheese)..yuck.This place is a sports bar and they even have pinball machines

I was happy when I found a place with a large selection of vegetarian options. Usually I go with healthy stuff but its fun to get some bar classics every once in a while. I ended up getting the chili-cheese fries and Buffalo seitan wings with vegan ranch. My boyfriend got a vegan Cajun burger. Everything was fresh and hot and tasted great. The only nit-pick I would give would be that the wings should come with more celery and/or carrots because they really enhanced the flavor (Im sure it would be easy to ask for more). I couldnt finish them but they were really good reheated, too. The fries are breaded which I dont generally love but I thought they were good.
