This place is WAY better than tappers. I recently went there and it seemed kinda run down but kinda cool but I went to this place last week and it is styled nicely, got neat lighting, and the games are way better! Not to mention the drinks and the SERVICE! Awesome service by two girls with short dark hair, one had lots of tattoos, the other had maybe one on her forearm, but I love that this company doesnt make them cover up! Good on you!The Carrie Fisher drink was great and the girl with one forearm tattoo even gave me another rock candy when I dropped mine!Though the food choices are slim, I love that I can be served a pb&j with my vodka by some nice people before I go play a video game! Will be back definitely and get their names next time!
I loved everything about it! The service, menu, atmosphere, sand egregated movie/gaming screens makes this my top go to places for a good time in Indy.
If you are into old school video games this is definitely the hangout spot! Has a wide variety of drinks theyre named after well known celebrities and its pretty awesome! The staff is really friendly and cool and also it is dog friendly so you can bring your dog in there to enjoy video games! Wide variety of beer on tap
Fun place to visit. Good cocktails and fun games. Worth taking the time for it when visiting Columbus. Especially if you are outgoing but nerdy. Nerdiness not needed but you will enjoy it more.Very stranger things, big bang theory crowd style fun. It would be one of my go to places if I lived there.
Drinks are all ten bucks, would be nice to have new themed drinks added to the list. The machines are not bad for their age. Would like to see more pinball machines
It was a very fun place..Just need to get some of the games fixed..But otherwise it was amazing..
SO glad this place is open! Tons of fun games, all for free except pinball (which is wicked cool). If you want to play pinball though be sure to bring quarters because the quarter machine has been down both times Ive been here!!! While thats disappointing, our server Madea (sp?) Took real good care of us last night and even gave us beer samples when my lady wasnt sure what she wanted to drink! Recommendations on point! Had some great convo with the bartender Jess while the lady was in the bathroom, she even came out from behind the bar to have a chat at a table cause I guess I wasnt supposed to be standing by the bar, WHOOPS!All in all, had a great time. Manager came by to check on us and make sure our drinks were full (I didnt get his name but he had red hair) and the girl at the door seemed sweet.Great staff, great drinks, great beer, great games and GREAT FUN! Will definitely be back!!
16 Bit is a Arcade style gaming bar located at E NY street in downtown. As its right at downtown so parking is either street or near by parking garage. This place is a great place and will bring your childhood memories back.they have a huge open style bar area with dedicated 2 floors of seating and unlimited arcade gaming options. Bar servers a full catalog of drinks to choose from and the only downside is that they dont serve food here. I like the staff on the bar as they are friendly and makes your overall experience amazing. A great place to hang out with friends and family. A different style of bar to spen time
1st timers .... 1st off our server which i cant remember her name but started with a M.. was very good she checked on us adequately as we moved around THANK YOU SERVER ... 2nd Atmosphere was GREAT ...I loved it brought back so many memories... lil disappointed about the food options but overall was great..3rd and most important to me was CUSTOMER SERVICE everyone from Hostess to our Server To the Guy walking around making sure everyone was good THANK YOU ALL... ok now THE BARTENDER... JESS Had a real UNFRIENDLY Attitude which put a DAMPER & TOOK AWAY from the Overall Experience...She ACTUALLY brought the 4 star Down to the 3 star and has me wondering if ill return To Spend My HARD WORKING MONEY.. .. Now if it wasnt for my SERVER M Sorry I Cant remember her nameI dont think I would return so THANK HER MR/MRS GM Because she just made me reconsider coming back BUT BARTENDER JESS needs a REAL reality chekk!!!!!
Pretty good bar lots of classic arcade machines here definitely a food time. Restrooms were a little sloppy but not too bad Other then that great experience
Couldn’t get a drink, wouldn’t go back if you paid me money. Off to somewhere with better service.
Pretty cool. Lots of games. No cost to play. Many needed serviced. Would have stayed longer if they had food.
Fun environment to meet up with friends. Typically has a good sized crowd on weekend nights. Outdoor space is large. The slushees are very tasty and I cant leave without getting one.
Good variety of drinks and games, huge indoor and outdoor space so big parties can spread out and still enjoy their time.
Awesome atmosphere, and tons of arcade games to play. I dont go to bars very much but I will come back here next time I do
Ehh. Its okayyyyyy... Its very now & hip but the games arent the super popular ones you probably remember as a kid and when you have a stranger over your shoulder breathing in your ear waiting for their turn, it kinda kills the buzz. The drinks on the other hand are F-U-N!! I recommend the cherry slush with Fireball and my date had a Cheech Marin... Also, dont forget to notice the wallpaper when there... Its the BEST part of the whole place!!At least for me.
Staff was amazing, fun atmosphere and the drinks were good (not watered down). The only thing is thought was strange was no food but you can order food from outside.
Just shy of the fact that 2 of the pinball machine being down and fix it Felix not working I had an absolute blast!! They not only had retro arcade games but skeeball too. Felt like a kid all over again. Will definitely be back!!
Had a great time celebrating our friends birthday here! The games are fun, the cocktails are unique, and the staff was nice! We enjoyed playing ski ball all night and got to try lots of different quirky cocktails that come with surprises like popsicles or bacon! There are super fun arcade games and you don’t have to pay for any of them!
Drinks are Bomb. Arcade can be improved. Creative Menu.
Been here multiple times since it has opened. I really hope it stays open! All the games except pinball are free. They have long tables for groups and you can reserve for groups. Ive held an alumni event here and they were easy to work with. Lots of drink options. They have an outdoor space and Im excited to visit them when the weather is nicer!
Fun place! Some cool retro vibes to have nostalgic 80’s/90’s evening. Also, there are a lot of sugary drinks... Too many, perhaps?
Great beer selection! Great hangout area! Too many games broken. Could use some good options
A fun place that has some really cool, old arcade machines that are free to play. The staff is friendly, and the place is modern and clean.
Loved it here. Equipped with 3 SNES systems. Got hit in the nostalgia feels real hard
We really enjoyed our time visiting here.Obviously nostalgia central. Most of the games are free to play; minus the pinball machines which are still affordable to play. Most of the drinks are specialty specific. The gas fire pits are a great touch of a cool evening. If you were considering checking the place out it is definitely worth your time.Enjoy.
Came in spent alot of money on the first three rounds. Went to buy the forth and she said to bring all IDs, no problem walkwd away and right back and went to pay amd my id is gone
Good time with great games. There is a GIANT Light Brite.
Very cool place with great people. Wish the game selection was a bit better and too many games are damaged in some way. Overall was pretty awesome though.
16-Bit Bar and Arcade had great drink choices, as well as a great atmosphere. There are places to hang out at tables on the main level, with games spread around the sides and upstairs. There is also a seating area upstairs that overlooks the main bar area. Loved hanging out here with friends and playing games.
An amazing experience! Bartenders are Top Notch and certainly can handle a crowed! The Arcade machines were in great condition considering the amount of wear they must receive. Love the open concept and plenty of places to catch your breath and chill.
As long as youre drinking, game play is included. Great variety of games, including skee ball. The decor is fun too.
The atmosphere is fun, the bartenders and waitresses are fast, Friendly, and all around amazing. I give serious Kudos to this place. Love it and will be back again soon for sure!Someone ordered a bunch of drinks on my tab without my permission. With no hassle, the manager removed the drinks from my tab.I felt bad cause that is money lost for 16 Bit, though at the same time I don’t want to pay for some random person’s drinks.
The drink called the game over is the bees knees. Lots of fun nostalgic arcade games.
Decent hangout spot. Has a good selection of games. Has plenty of indoor seating as well as out door seating. Definitely pet friendly!
Awesome place! Great drinks, every old retro game you can imagine!
This place is fantastic!!! They have the friendliest staff, tastiest drinks that make you feel like a kid again, fabulous nostalgia from the 80s and 90s, and a HUGE selections of arcade games! The best part is they are fur baby friendly so everyone can enjoy the fun. If you are looking for a great place to have some killer fun on date night I recommend this place. There is a bar on both levels and plenty of space to roam and make new friends. Thanks for coming to Indy 16 Bit Bar!!!
A great place to grab a drink. Went here for my birthday and loved it! As a dog lover I was very excited about it being pet friendly and getting to see all the dogs! The staff was amazing and Stevie upstairs was great and took excellent care of us!
Overall I thought it was a nice arcade bar. The drinks I had were very good. The one odd thing is that they dont serve food. If you want food, youll have to have it delivered. Little bit weird, but doable.
This place has it all. Ive visited 1up in Colorado and you two have nailed it perfectly. From the old School Games, Jumbo Jenga, and ski-ball your attention will always be kepted and entertained. I look forward to my next visit here in Indy.
Solid variety of vintage arcade games. Drink menu is very creative and filled with super fun beverages. Only drawback is the lack of food options. Itd be great to have some decent appetizers or something to munch on when playing games and drinking.
Every single time I go I end up having a great time. Even though it is consistently busy, you can always get a drink on the spot and play the dopest arcade games for free. Night cap or destination, always a solid spot. 10/10
Ive been to other places like this that do it better. Most places have you pay a cover and then all of the games are free. It gets a little too pricey when you have to pay for every game as well as moderately expensive drinks. The actual layout was cool and there was a great selection of games to play.
This is a fun place! All the video games and ski ball are set to free play, and the pinball machines are a quarter or two depending on the machine. All they ask is that you purchase at least one drink while playing.
Great cocktails good time!
Its a good environment and the pinball is only 50 cents a game. Cocktails and big beers are always a plus. As long as you dont want to actually play games its a good time. The ski ball games are missing balls. Seems like a third of the games are down every time I go in. The games that do work usually need maintenance of some kind. If you want to hangout and drink like a normal bar then this is a fun place to hangout if you want to play arcade games it can be a toss up
I wish I could give this place 15 Stars!!!!! Great for a first date or an 8 year anniversary. If yr an 80s or 90s kid you will love this place
Cool place with a fun atmosphere! They have some great old school games but if only they had a pool table.Great drinks, great bartenders!
Drinks are unique and creative. But service can be slow, understandingly slow, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. It gets crowded and can be hard to find the game. But go off peak hours and its a blast
Lots of space and a moderately fun atmosphere. If not for Tappers, it would be an easy recommendation. The main issue was the lack of variety/fun in the selection of games.
This place is awesome, great drinks and games! Wish they had one in Pittsburgh!
Very cool bar to grab a brew and play ski ball or some other throw back favorites. Most games are free play outside of the pinball machines. Slam some brews and buttons here.
Great atmosphere, fun and original drinks, and a whole lot of great classic arcade games. We had a lot of fun and set a new high skeeball score of 540!
If you are a child 70s, 80s, or even the early 90s this is your place. All of the old cabinets are free to play which there seem to be like 50+ in there. It brings you back to a time when you were a kid and can have fun but with the added bonus of having an adult beverage and socializing with your friends. Oh and best thing for me about this place is one word SKEEBALL!
The drinks have creative names and are delicious. The bartenders and servers are attentive and friendly. Games are free! 10/10 recommend.
I like this place, there are many games! That you can play by yourself or with friends! Variety of drinks, and nice crew. Love when they say welcome at the entrance, and say bye, hope you come back, take care when you leave the place!
This place is awesome! Fun environment, great staff and great drinks!
Excellent Spot....Great Drinks and Free Vintage games. Spacious as well. GREAT VIBE!
This arcade bar has ski ball unlike the others. I would say this arcade bar isnt for the super gamers its more for people who want a place to chill and just have fun. Tappers and One up are more chill gaming bars. This arcade bar is a perfect date night place or place to pregame before heading to the clubs.
A great experience! The tap has a plethora of delicious drinks, whether you enjoy a beer, cider, cocktail, or even a slushie. The space is very open, great for a large group of friends. Staff was delightful. I went on a Tuesday night and there were still plenty of people. Now to the highlight of this location...the Arcade games. All of these machines were in near perfect condition! There were 2 or 3 down, but thats it. 16-Bit has an amazing range of classics to choose from...best part is that they are free!!So lastly prices of the drinks, the cocktails are not the cheapest. I got an IPA in the small glass for $6 and caught the tab for my girlfriend for her Hulk Hogan. It came out to around $17.62. So really not to bad, just dont expect to come in and get watered down Bud Light for $2.FINAL THOUGHTS:Delightful space to hang out with friends, drink and play video games from a land before. There is something for everyone, from Games to Beverages! Great job 16-Bit!!!
Great place.Free play machines are neglected. Some buttons didnt work, some games wouldnt start. On the right track though.Fire features on the patio.Nice.Fire drinks..
You couldnt have a bad time here if you tried. The games are incredible and the patio is awesome. One of the best arcade bars Ive ever been in!
Some of the games were down, but its to be expected sometimes. Very chill atmosphere and great mixed drinks. Would make a great hang out place.
I can rave all day about the fantastical tasty drinks, the absolutely spectacular decor and the phenomenal people that work there but it is best for you to see for yourself! I WILL be back and cant wait. Whens the last time you took a pic of a bathroom? I was yesterday years old. Enjoy!
I mean, bar + arcade is accurate. Its a bar first, mediocre arcade second. A few classic machines were down and people crowded the 3 skee ball lanes so much that it seems hard to get into a game.
Instantly became a favorite bar in Indianapolis when I walked in. We went on a Friday night and it was packed with people. Even with everyone there, it was easy to get a beer from the bar and the bartenders are very friendly. The arcade games are mostly free except the pinball machines. They also have large jinga and checkers. Excited to go back and try the cocktails.
Nearly every arcade machine is in disrepair. Turtles joystick wont go right, Galaga fire button doesnt work, Super Pac-Man wont add credit, Robotron cant shoot down, SF2 Champion Edition has one button intermittent, etc. etc. etc. Its a shame, because they have a great selection of beer.
Brought back a lot of memories from games I hadnt played since 80s-90s ... great atmosphere, helpful staff; cant wait to come back
This place had a very cool atmosphere. Been to lots of arcades and alot lot of bars this place was cool
Decent ambiance, but the games are very lackluster. Mainly aimed toward the Generation X crowd or those that enjoy the very earliest arcade games. Missing a lot of arcade staples that Millennials grew up with.
Much more spacious than the one in Columbus, Ohio.
Great place to have a beer and unwind, lots of video arcade games from the 80’s
Great atmosphere and amazing drinks! Always a fun place to hang out with friends. The slushies are to die for!My only complaint and the reason I wont give it 5 stars is that the games dont seemed to be well maintained. Maybe its because theyre a chain? But theres always at least one or two broken and on the ones that do work you can tell they are very worn and sometimes dont work well.
Great place to relax with friends. Gets busy fast, just be patient.
Love this place the name of the cocktails and all the arcade games. Great staff and amazing atmosphere
So fun! Great atmosphere and drinks. Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles was swamped by ppl the whole time & some of the games were out of service. I wasnt sure if some required money or they too were just out of service.
Excellent bar staff and great selection of games. Would go back there any time. The atmosphere is a lot of fun too
Bar service was rough. They ran out of tall glasses at one point. Floor plan needs help - way too many choke points for the number of people in there on a Saturday night. Might be fun on a weeknight. Crowd was interesting - mixture of older gamers and younger college kids. Was disappointed to see many games broken.
Very laid back vibe. Vintage games for days! See you next Wednesday!
They have a great cocktails selection!! No food served though other than hot pocket. All games are free!!
This place was extremely busy, and I can understand why! The games are a blast to play, and the staff do a very good job. Definitely worth checking out of you are in the area
Would be 5 stars if they fix the games that are broken.Come here to release your inner child while consuming great beer at a fair price. I love this place. I will be coming back.
Cool bar! Loved the games. Everything seemed clean too. Id definitely go back!
If Tappers is an arcade with a bar, this is a bar with an arcade. The space is large, wide open, and very loud. Theres two floors, both with a bar. The games are just okay; its not a memorable collection (though they do have ski-ball, which is unique and contributes to the loudness). The decor is full of innuendo that makes you feel like youre in a fraternity house. If this was the only barcade in Indianapolis Id like it, but ultimately Tappers is just better IMO.
Cant deny its fun. Its a little loud and Id like to see maybe a few more games, like N64 or something. Drinks are great!Kinda cold (in temperature)
Great staff, laid back feel, progressive layout. What a cool place to game it up and have a few!
Went to 16 Bit for the first to meet coworkers for a drink after work. Decided to take my 1 year old pup, Sky, after calling to confirm they were dog friendly. When I called, the man who answered said “we love dogs, bring em in!” - not only is their patio dog friendly (the case for most Indy dog friendly bars), but the entire inside is. When I got there, the guy at the front stand greeted me with a bag that had a ball and dog treat, which was super welcoming and awesome. Sky had an accident on the patio in the fake grass, (I was embarrassed and felt so bad) and the guy working the bar was so patient and kind regarding the matter, and he brought me bags to help me in cleaning it up. He made me feel so much better and he even said “aww it’s ok - it happens”... Long story short, every person that works there was beyond kind and helpful to me. The vibe was chill and fun, obviously plenty of games to play, great craft cocktail and beer list, and patio/indoor was an open concept so super roomy. We will 100% be back, and it will be a new go to place for my coworkers and I for after work drinks! Thanks Indy 16-Bit for giving Indy what it needed - a welcoming, downtown, dog friendly bar with GREAT employees. ️
Nice place but the drinks are a little high priced. Fun environment.
Fantastic place! Prices on drinks are high, but you get what you pay for. This will always be my to go to place when I go to Indy.
Great atmosphere, open floor plan, lots of games, great drink selection, and you can bring your dog!
Amazing space, amazing ambiance, but you could really use a floor manager. There are more than a few broken games every night. For every bar and or restaurant I have been to, this is the only one that I have never seen someone walk around checking on people. I just want you to succeed.
Awesome ambiance. Love the nostalgia. Fun place to hang out, tasty drinks. Plenty of space, and a great outside area (which unfortunately allows smoking). Fun new place to check out! Walking distance from mass ave.
While attending a conference in Indianapolis, a group of us decided to tour the nightlife of the city. 16-Bit was a refreshing and nostalgic trip back to the days of the arcades of the 80s and 90s. The bar has an extensive number of local microbrews on tap. Nice atmosphere, and not too loud for and arcade. All of the games are free to play! I had a great time, I am definately going to be back.
