Best thing about this store - appears to be a bit of a puppy outlet for the ones that didnt sell in the first several weeks. We bought both our pups here at an incredible discount and they both have the best temperaments I could hope for! Sometimes the staff here can be a bit sketchy, as I think good help is hard to find at this business. However, I felt good about my pups when I purchased them here. Clarification of sketchy description - employees seemingly avoidant of helping customers and going outside in pairs for smoke break. Secondly, one young man was assumed to be very high on some drug and behaving oddly while on the job. Also, just general lack of professional appearance on the job amongst some staff. Most recent visit to this store, they were quite behind on cleaning poo out of cages and again, more interested in going out for smoke break together than tending to customers or catching up (in my observation). It isnt this way at all Uncle Bills locations.

Absolutely horrible experience. When we first picked out German Shepard up from Uncle Bills East Washington location we financed to get her home 3 months ago. Later found out a week later the computer didnt process the financing correctly, so my wife and I had to drive an hour back up to the store to attempt to refinance and we were able to finance yet again (by the way it hit our credit twice),.. 1st payment didnt come out and we called the processing company the financing was going through and they stated that the account had been canceled yet again... This is beyond a huge inconvenience, but a massive annoyance because we have had our puppy for month than 3 months now with uncle bills screwing up their end, and I dont plan on giving my puppy up now. I have attempted to call the East Side location however, nobody answers or the phone is busy for hours. I need to speak to someone at corporate to get this corrected IMMEDIATELY!!After going through this experience I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND Uncle Bills pet shop to anyone, go to a breeder to get your puppy instead of this place. We are still dealing with the issue....

I was extremely upset with 4 different people from there telling me completely different things about a my ferret that I bought from there 2 weeks ago. No one could tell me the same story twice and had I known all I would have bought it else where. I pay almost 300.00 for a fur baby that I bring into my home that one of your ex employees knows that this ferret was a bitter and then to hear from another employee that no she received no shots and they require rabies shots. You would think you would at least give the same story. Im hopping upset and pray that I can aquire a vet before anything happens.

All of the employees are extremely helpful they greet you as soon as you walked in the door and make sure you have found everything that you need I do not believe I will ever go to any other pet store they are like my second family I love them all and I recommend to everyone come to Uncle Bills Pet Center for all your pets.

A lot worse state than before, back then youd see a large variety of animals and they were all kept and cared for. Now half of it is empty or just has pet supplies, wouldnt be surprised it it ends up being a supply store or goes out of business. It just feels so depressing to be in, they just have your basic animals you can find anywhere else, and better taken care of.

This location has so much more than the others Ive been to. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Especially the man that rung up our purchase. They are also one of the few locations that carry Dubia roaches.

They seem to have a pretty good selection, but since I went into check out the fish department, I was was thoroughly discussed. The tanks were filthy and some were so bad that you couldnt see in them. The store itself did not have a bad odor so that tells me that at least the other animals cages were taken care of.

None of the employees were wearing masks and most of the customers in the store were walking around with no mask on. It was extremely uncomfortable and I had to immediately leave because of how awful the health precautions were. Not to mention the fact that the service was just terrible anyways. Workers on their phones or nowhere to be found. One person doing essentially all the work while everyone else twiddled their thumbs. Feel bad for those poor animals.

I try to shop local as much as I can and understand that I may pay a little more to support a local biz. I was surprised at how high some of the prices were at Uncle Bills. However, they have a friendly staff and I still purchased the item I wanted. I did shop elsewhere for most of my items due to the cost, though.

Some times it takes a while to get someone to help but they are all nice people!

They should remodel this location.. everything still looks the same from when I was a child lol.. could use a good cleaning, and for employees to clean up after animal accidents

So we went to buy fish. Selected fish with MANY people in the store without wearing masks including what appeared to be the manager. We waited in line behind a group buying a tank and waited at least 14 minutes to check out. When we asked how long to the manager, he didn’t respond. Then we said we were done and needed the fish put back. He said okay and took the fish while turning his back and on his phone yo continue his conversation on the phone.I truly have never experienced such piss poor service in my 49 years. I will not be back and hope that all of the animals under this team’s care are truly cared for.

This is the worst store ever my boyfriend and I went here too see their ball python selection and we ended up purchasing one. I’ve owned a few before so we thought if anything was wrong we could figure it out or uncles bills has in store credit if your animal dies within a week of owning. With in 2 months of owning our ball python he has now died from not eating. He ate the first month but the whole second month he wouldn’t eat at all and became really frail. Snakes can go a long time without eating so this was not our doing. Uncle bill’s never talked us through an eating schedule, told us if they feed live or frozen, but they did try and get us too buy everything that had nothing to do with snake nature, survival, or comfort. They’re prioritizing dollar signs over animal safety and people safety.

Based on the description online, I thought this place would have lots of animals. From the details listed, they were supposed to have a wide variety of exotic pets. They didnt. There were no sugar gliders, no pufferfish, hermit crabs, etc.I went there to drop off my bunny today as I can no longer keep him and was disappointed. The worker looked freaked out about the rabbit (who was anxious btw) and said I dont like rabbits. And handed him back to me to go get a worker who could actually do their job. Literally why work at a pet store if you cant handle a simple rabbit..? All the animals were in tiny enclosures and all the rodents looked sick. Im hoping this is just THIS pet store and not the rest of the Uncle Bills chain.

I was in there earlier today asking about the bull dog puppy. I was told I couldn’t pet it and when I ask how much he said to Expensive. I felt like he was judging a book by it cover. All I wanted to see if we had a bond with the little puppy. Before I paid for it. I will never come back.

We have been raising turtles now for the kids fun adventure and what an experience this is. They are actually cool to watch and see them grow. This place has everything for our needs food, cages, filters, chemicals. Man they even have knowledgeable people that can assist you along the way. I like the fact that it is a local place with so many options. I can use credit card or cash. To my knowledge that havent ran out of anything I needed from time to time. We always go check out the pretty dogs when you arrive. So cute. I recommend this place for all your pet needs.

Always has a good selection of small and large animals.

We wanted to buy a rat as a pet, the employees explained that they’re feeder rats, but could still be used as a pet. One girl employee continued to pick it up by its tail, and the girl manager was saying “I don’t do rats”. Like why do you work at a pet store if you’re going to freak out about rats. Then, as they were holding it by its tail, they drop it on the concrete floor. After paying, we got in the car and realized it’s tail was broken off at the tip and bleeding a lot. We went in asking for a refund (but to still keep the fat because he’s hurt and we know how to care for it) and they were saying we can’t get a refund just because it’s a feeder rat and we’re saying “oh it happens all the time”. They were all very careless in the situation. And I would not recommend this store.

The place is a dump. Reptiles and arachnids are housed incorrectly. Tarantulas are underfed and dehydrated. Fish tanks need cleaning. There is zero excuse for how niche pets are cared for. They need to hire experienced people for specialized species.

I love to look at the animals. Esp the birds and fish.

Have been going here since I was a small kid, and we ride our bikes there, and sell them snakes we caught in the woods. Always have a decent selection. Their dogs are very over priced. Great stock on fish, and am excited to see the aquarium renovations! Much needed, as some of those aquariums, I think are from when they used to be at their old location.

I was excited for a new pet store to visit until I saw $2,000 puppy mill puppies in the back. Insane! Dont support them!Edit after their response: I checked out your website. Good breeders dont have at least 5 breeds of dogs with puppies at the same time. That is the only breeder on your site as well. I would hope you care for them if youre selling them for $2,000.

They let me hold as many rats as I wanted to as I chose companions. They were very helpful and patient, and they gave realistic advice about pet care. This is a good place to go if you want to talk to staff about how to care for your pet as you buy it.

My granddaughter cajoled me into entering this pet palace. Of course we left with regrets because we saw at least a half dozen perfectly playful puppies that this grandma couldnt afford! All of them priced well over $1000 dollars. They did have a financing program - but thats not an option for me, since interest rates would cause the animals price to be even higher?!? No thank you. I kept thinking of how many dogs needed to be rescued, because at one time someone thought they NEEDED an adorable puppy. Then they abandoned, it because of the time, attention and expenses involved in raising such wonderful loyal creatures.That being said - everything else is amazing in this pet store !! A variety of animals to choose from! ALL had clean cages and bedding, with genuine caring staff. And I appreciated the public restrooms, because we did spend a lot of time in there - admiring all the beautiful animals from Sugar gliders to live rocks.

They always help me when Im in and need to get some new stuff for my pup or chinchilla.

They have some good pets there but they dont really take care of all of them good. It seems to me they dont really research some of the things they get and that they really just dont care. For example their axolotls, weve had to report to them multiple times because they were in bad conditions. I dont really recommend getting pets from here unless you wanna think of it as you rescuing them.

Any time I need help in the store, staff has been great! However any time the pet store chain has to give back to the customers in form of a free bag of food earned by customer. It doesnt happen.

I went and bought 6 glofish, woke up in the morning and one was dead, went and got the one fish exchanged, got home and it died by the next morning. I think they might have sick glofish mixed in with healthy glofish. Either way Im taking my business to petsmart from now on.

Love Uncle Bills...but this location on East Washington not so much. No dubia roaches and no bottled water again.

Uncle Bills is a horrible place in you should never get your animals from there. If you truly want an animal just tried going to a pound or a dog shelter go and get a dog that you know needs love not one thats from a puppy mill

They have a better aquatics department that Petsmart. And they know how To house Hermit Crabs.

Its a nice place to go to get stuff for your pets kind of pricey though.

Its been a few years since I went into here. The staff seemed really nice. I didnt buy anything. I just like to go look at the pets. They are remodeling the back room. I was curious why there wasnt prices on the puppies. Maybe it is a thing idk about. :)

Great selection of puppies food

The selection is great, but the customer service leaves something to be desired.I was interested in purchasing one of their dogs, but no one ever came by to check-in on us. I finally asked someone about the dog, but they said they didnt know anything about him.

The dogs behind glass wanted to play but wouldnt get let out and one was eating its own poop and an employee heard us talking about it and didnt do anything about it....Also the place wreaked.The fish and rats were cool though.

This used to be a great place for all of our saltwater aquarium needs as well as a great place to buy coral, saltwater fish,and live rock. Over the past 5yrs the saltwater aquarium section has gone down to almost nonexistent. The last two pieces of coral I got from there had aptasia and it took over my tank causing more headaches and hassle then it was worth. Unfortunately I have to travel up north to get my aquarium needs and they are getting to be hit or miss as well.

This location is the worst uncle Bill’s, I was interested in a puppy all the workers were around us but anyone stop & asked us if we need help, they just ignored you! Special if you’re LATINO

The last couple of times i went in to get adult feeder mice, for my snake, they were very small. I asked about the size and was told the vender has been sending smaller mice. The price went ip recently and now the mice are smaller and i have to buy more.

DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!!! I will never buy anything from Uncle Bills ever again. I recently spent $40 on supplies so that my 4 and 7 year old daughters could each have a gold fish. Both fish were dead within 2 hours. When I called the store, I was told that they would not replace the fish because their policy did not guarantee them. I asked them if it was worth losing a customer and a negative review over 80 cents. The manager of the store hung up on me. I called back and promptly was hung up on once more. I called again and asked for the number for corporate and they gave me a cell phone number that was a private citizen. I called back again and they called it harassment. Never again. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!

They have a great selection of pet foods, including the only type that our elderly dogs will eat. The staff was extremely friendly and quite knowledgeable about pets and the products they sell. It is the most pet-centric shop Ive found in Indy.

Its amazing

This place is great. They have a lot of amazing and healthy animals. They carry an assortment of some of the best dog and cat food brads. They have birds, rodents, fish, reptiles, dogs, and cats. I love coming to this place and enjoy walking around looking while I shop. The staff is not pushy and the store is kept pretty organized. The only thing I wish is that they carried a little more stuff for marine and saltwater tanks. Like live plants and corals. All and all this place is great and where i do most of my shopping for supplies, new fish and reptiles.

Yo some of the employees were hella rude about which door to use. The place was a bit unorganized. Not a soul asked if anyone needed assistance.

Staff seems to be all high school people which would explain the lack of customer service. The place seemed unclean and rather disorganized. And the smell of urine was pretty strong.

Wish the fish were properly labeled and tagged . proper inventory needs to take place. Hard to buy fish if they arent labeled or identified correctly. Primarly south americans were mislabeled or not shown with proper species identification and tagging

Employees at this particular location are not very friendly or helpful. Most (if not all) walk around on their phones and completely ignore you.

The cashier couldnt find the UPC for the items we wanted to buy! We left without purchasing anything...very disappointed!
