I loved walking the nature trails here. It is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. It was great to see couples and families enjoying the beautiful weather and all that was offered to do here like hiking, fishing, the nature center, etc. Very well maintained also.

Free to park & wander the grounds. Grounds accessible dawn to dusk. Well shaded, well maintained, some mosquitoes. 3 or 4 loops 1/4 mile to 1.9 miles + another set of loops in the prairie on the other side of the parking lot (they dont really loop and theres no map, but its low grass so you cant get lost - be prepared for an hour or so. The sign indicTed To 9/11 Memorial but I never found it). Garbage cans & picnic table, didnt observe toilets or water fountain - likely inside building.

Beautiful place. Very quiet and serene. Nice paved trail around the pond. Other gravel trails that I havent tried yet. Maybe on my next visit. Ill be back!

Even though it was cold outside, it was a very enjoyable walk around the outer room. The staff is very very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyable!

They have a very nice nature trail and pond. Its free to visit and a lot of fun for kids as well as they have a wonderful outdoor play area. They offer a variety of classes for all ages and my five year daughter has really enjoyed her classes this summer.

Somewhat rustic, but an excellent display of native flora for the region. Basic, small, but very kid friendly indoor exhibition area. Lots of room outdoors for kids to burn off energy while Mom and Dad take a nice stroll around the stocked fishing pond.

A lot of different trails to walk. Nice little pond that you can walk and fish in. The ladies inside were very nice and helpful.

Very pretty place to relax, take a walk, have a picnic, fish, or canoe! Great for family outings!!

The walking trails have been some of my favorites for years...they are not difficult or strenuous, so they are appropriate for all ages and abilities. Ponds are usually lined with fishermen and their children trying to catch a bite. Geese and ducks are usually found. Butterfly garden is one of my favorite spots on the south side of the building during the months it is in bloom. The small child playground area gives plenty of opportunity to play in the dirt and learn.

Delightful place for a nature walk, jog, picnic or other outdoor activity. Beautiful areas and amenities to enjoy. The play area and indoor exhibits are great too.

FREE and a great place to let younger kiddos hang out for a couple of hours. There is a great interactive nature exhibit for those really hot or rainy days.Bring in a couple of quarters for turtle/fish food and go feed the wildlife!

Always love DNC, however outside access women’s bathroom is clogged, thanks to whoever left that mess, and someone else is squatting in the men’s room. Wish there was someone that would periodically check these things after hours.

Great place to hike and see nature

Our family loves this amazing place. The childrens play area is entertaining and brought out the child in us all. You can cool down (warm up) inside for some educational time. Buy the fish/duck/turtle food and head out to the deck above the pond. It is a great place for the entire family.

Its has beautiful trails that you can walk, ride your bike, or even take your dog along. They have a play section for kids that includes building your own habitat, making sand castles and outside instruments! Abd tons of fish in the fishing pond. Great for outdoor family fun. I would highly recommend it

So much exploring to do and fun things for the kids to do and learn about. The trails are interactive with your phone and provide information about plants and trees. And picture opportunities are amazing

This is one of my favorite places to go in Hutchinson. It has great nature walks. A fish pond. A childrens play area with sand and toys. It also has a great gift shop and museum. Donations are encouraged but not required.

Great place to enjoy a bit of nature. Good educational materials, opportunities for kids to have interactive experiences, and trails to walk, places to picnic, etc. I appreciate the interactions DNC has with organizations like Family Community Theater.

When you need a little nature time this is an awesome park. A short walk takes you to a nice fishing pond. We sat on the edge of the bank and watched the geese break up the ice on a cold mid December afternoon. There is a nice gift shop and people there can answer questions about the wildlife in the area and provides a restroom. There are plenty of easy trails to walk. We didnt visit the childrens area; although I have heard from the kids that its a blast . We go for the fresh air and quiet time.

A decent place to go to for young kids. Probably works for a first grade class pretty well. Dont expect anything ground breaking in terms of information or entertainment, but not a bad place to go for a nice nature walk.

My kids never get tired of our walks and adventures here. Always a great outing.

We saw 2 snakes lots of fish 3 huge turtles some friendly people fishing and best of all I had a great time with my boys. There might have been some sword fighting with sticks and a few whacks on the hind honches with the sticks but we had a blast.

Dillon Nature Center is a great little gem nestled in the NE corner of Hutchinson. It has always been a nice spot to get away for a quiet walk, jog, or to just sit and watch the birds and the fish. I have not been to the newest additions to the nature center yet but the look nice as well.

Thank you for a lovely evening. Thoroughly enjoyed the music and musicians. The cold water was appreciated. Took a walk during intetmission. Having parking attendants really helped parking go smoothly. Thanks again for hosting such a great event.

We went on a field trip here for work. Its a very large and interesting space to learn about Kansas Wildlife.

Its very beautiful and has awesome trails. Theres a trail that takes you around a lake, one that takes you through a wooded area and a prairie trail. We loved all the trails but the prairie trail was our favorite. Well definitely be back.

Nice, self guided tour, and all kinds of things about Kansas.

They have a small educational and interactive museum, that is free along with trails that are there. You can also fish there, but I havent done that. You can see a wide variety of wild life. It is quiet even though its ride on the edge of town. It is pretty.

Nice trails that are well maintained and well marked/mapped. Nice pond, great scenery... Easily accessible place.

Beautiful scenery, a lot of walking trails but poor fishing however they do stock the main pond with a good amount of trout in the winter.

I cant wait for it to be summer again because this place looks beautiful even in the winter time and thats just the outside the inside of the facility is phenomenal, I I think it would be a great place to have a little field trip or just like a babysitter day out or something like that.

I took an arts and crafts class here and it was great. But what I really enjoyed was bringing my grandson back Weeks Later to check out the pond in the play area for the children. This place is wonderful outdoor entertainment for children who have a difficult time paying attention to certain things. The outdoors the birds the water is so much better for children than video games and televisions and electronics at least it seems to be for some of us. Lovely place we really enjoyed the chimes in the play area and seeing the snails and leeches and Minnows and tadpoles and frogs and fish and turtles and ducks.

This is a peaceful place on the afternoon.. I am visiting in march..so still brown.... but nature is greay..and I enjoy watching the changes in the season..and this is a great place for young and old to enjoy watching these changes thru the year...

Grandchildren & I love this park. It is educational as well as beautiful. Nice walking trail. Learning center geared for children. Free parking available. Some wildlife such as turtles, fish & fish can be seen.

I will return. This park has trails, an information center, fishing, and an opportunity to feed turtles ($.25). Theres a kids area and a building that can be rented for special occasions. Pack a picnic, bring your camera, some bug spray, and enjoy the park.

This is a very nice park. There are places for picnics, hikes, fishing and a kids play area. Weddings would be beautiful here. The exhibits in the exploration building are very well done and educational.
