Wonderful place for anyone interested in history! From the Homestead Act settlements to the recent flooding and earthquakes in 2019, this place has it all.
We mainly come here for the play room upstairs. My children LOVE to play there and admission is only $1 per child. Adults are free. Definitely check this play area out if you have kids!
Lots of neat stuff!! Kids enjoyed museum and surrounding area.
Small but interesting museum mostly dedicated to the local history of Hutchinson KS. Entry is technically free, but suggested donation of $2 per adult and $1 per child 12 and under. The Attached Oodleplex is fun for young children, nice place to play when the weather is bad. There is also a small research center for local history. There is an elevator for 2nd floor exhibit and Oodleplex.
Good selection of local history!
This place is so cool! I love it.
Interesting to see how much some things have changed, If you are a long time resident!
This museum is great! The little museum is free to enter and is really worth the looking at. You can get through in about 30 minutes depending on how much you read. The gift shop is nice for its size. The jewel of the place for me though is the Oodleplex. Its a great playroom for kids under a certain age. It is $1 per kid but it is well worth it and your money goes toward upkeeping the place. The staff is also really awesome and will let you leave for lunch and come back without having to pay the fee again. There is just so much to do though. A boat, a train table, dress up, a general store, a kitchen, a school, a jail cell, and all sorts of toys. You can also have birthday parties upstairs across from the Oodleplex but I am not sure on the prices.Anyways my kiddo loves it and it is great on days when we want to go out and have fun but the weather is not permitting going to a play ground.
It is a nice free museum for adults and kids to walk through. There is a kids play area that costs $1. My kids loved playing there. They also have a cheap conference room that I have rented for several birthday parties.
Learned some valuable history about my new forever home town and county.
I am Kansas author Jae Byrd Wells and I approve of this interesting interactive educational museum. Although I have visited Hutchinson a lot, I didnt know this place existed. I hope to frequently visit and become more involved. The restrooms are kept nice and well stocked. Children and adults alike will benefit from visiting.
Great place to host an event, very reasonably rice. The exhibits are always nice and the play area for kids is a great option for when the weather is bad or just something different.
Born and raised in Reno County. The museum does a great job of covering all the little towns in Reno. They took us into the back and let us see the rifles my family donated years ago. They had had them restored! It was awesome. Thank you for that!!!
I had such a wonderful experience this past month for my wedding. If you are looking to have a indoor or outdoor wedding. This would be the place to go. With the downtown views, And rich history in the museum its self. Also being able to walk through and look at all the great things inside. Having the kids play area open to friends and family was so nice. And to have the staff that would be great and most helpful in anyway to make your day as spacial as possible. Thank you to one of the managers Katie who was most helpfully!
We had my sisters bridal shower there and it was a good space. They were extremely accommodating and affordable which was really nice. They had plenty of extra chairs and tables. The room was upstairs and there was an elevator. However we only had 30 minutes prior to set up which was not a lot to set up everything we had planned. Overall it was good and we would probably use it again.
Great but I do not like the doors for wheelchair accessible
Very interesting, learned a lot. Thanks a lot.
Great little museum. Loved the new exhibit on Black history in Reno County.
Great way to explore our local history!
The oodleplex is a great place for kids. My kids would spend all day there if I would let them. From the schoolhouse, to the boat, to the grocery store, to the dress up area there is so much to do and the kids get to use their imaginations.
Neat place to let the little ones play.
This is a beautiful amount of history
I enjoyed the museum. The public exhibit was unique.
My lady working there is surrounded by loving people who genuinely care and respect her.her along with staff make museum a wonderful place to visit
The Main Street showing was splendid!
Excellent have not spent a afternoon enjoying myself so much in a long time thank you Reno County
Staff was friendly and my daughter, whos 3, loves the play area. Only $1 for all the entertainment she loves! Will return!
Love the play area for kiddos makes you join in like you did when you was a kid
If you want to learn about different towns in Reno country and different thangs
Really cool for kids
This is a great place to visit. Even the kids had fun
A great place for kids to go and play.
Well kept
Not as full as youd think with the size of the building but its alright.
Great People & Good Place to Vote. I presented my passport, unable to process. We used my drivers license. Again, dont change this Voting Precinct..
Daughter had fun!
Exciting place to see all kinds of things
A gem in Hutch. Free and interesting.
Used to take my son here sometimes when he was little. He loved it.
