A month ago I moved to Houston from NYC and I couldnt find a place in the city that I liked, this park makes me remember Central Park for its lakes and the zoo as well as its sidewalks! I would love to see people running or taking photos or sitting on the grass like in Central park but so far it is my favorite place in Houston! the Japanese garden reminds me a lot of NYC.
I was not so impressed, may be because its still feels like winter. As a person just came from Colorado and never been to Texas before, I expectation was to be much warmer and green scenery with colorful flower. I guess winter is cold everywhere :). I love the new flowers coming out in some trees welcoming the spring and very glad to share them with you.
This is situated along the eastern edge of McGovern Lake and is adjacent to the main entrance to the Houston Zoo. There are lots of birds and the water fountain on the McGovern Lake is beautiful. Also the Plaza includes Kinder Station (the main station for the Hermann Park Train), the Hermann Park Conservancy Gift Shop, Pinewood Cafe, public restrooms, the Tiffany & Co. Foundation Bridge, a pedal boat lagoon.Nearby parking is available.
Beautiful. Always fun.
Thought I would get a chance to get some good pictures... The entire area is blocked from Drones. Just a heads-up.
