Just awesome if you do more than just look from the parking lot lol. Go on the other side of the wall and walk out to get some great pics. If you know a local or someone who can get you to the cave that passes underneath this lookout, go there! The cave is awesome and it leads to an even better, up close and personal view of the ocean and sea creatures right at your feet. You will get some amazing photos as well.

Feel the great power of mighty nature. Big wind gust, huge splashing waves. I felt very very tiny standing at this lookout, and all life problems no longer seem to matter compared to the view in front of my eyes. It was very refreshing, quite glad to have made this stop!

Definitely a scenic spot on the south east coast of Oahu. Panoramic views of the ocean and also you can see rock formations very well because of lava flow over millions and millions of years.Definitely recommend to stop over and enjoy the view.Better to go during the early or late part of day since midday is usually heavily crowded and it is tough to find a parking spot here. You can actually step out of the parking and walk a bit further to feel little adventurous.

Lana lookout allows for a great view, one can see for miles. Pull over on the right to a small parking lot allowing for everyone to enjoy a beautiful Hawaiian lookout. Take your self around the island and on a clear day you can see the other islands and feel the wind bring fresh air into your life. Check out the view on to the beach below and get ready for more of nature as you drive around Honolulu.

What can I say that the pictures below won’t say fir themselves. Just amazing out of this world viewsCaution - if you dare to travel below the kava rock small fence as I did - please pay attention to the water and lose gravel! You will easily slip and slide it’s lava rock it can be sharp! Not to mention that rouge waves are know to crash up onto the rocks! Be safe and be ready to save yourself if need be! No lifeguard on duty except for a lifeguard stick that floats and is visible!

Nice stop along an island drive around. Per someone else, just wait and a parking spot will free soon. You need to go over the wall to get best views. Note there is a sign to not go any further, although it appears everyone was well beyond the sign to get best photo and selfies. It is pretty far from the water unless you climb all the way down, but not set up for stairs, so at your own risk. Looks fairly manageable you can climb wall level easily.

If you are driving east along the coast and wanting to quickly stretch your legs then this is a great stop. The parking may be full when you first pull up, just wait for a few moments as people are constantly in and out of this parking lot. You will be able to see what the waves have done to the rocks over time and the amazing design on the rocks. If you hop the wall (at your own risk) you can walk down to get a closer look. The rocks if wet and also the sandy parts can be slick so be careful. You will love the designs on the rocks...they are great for photos. This is one of the quick pull outs that is says is worth the quick stop.

There is a very small car park, for about 7 or 8 cars so you have to be quite lucky in order to stop here. Because its quite dangerous, there is a short wall that, in theory, shouldnt be jumped over, but everybody did that. Once passed, you can walk, at your own risk, until the end of the cliffs.

Went freediving here.Certainly the most exciting dive I have done.Wouldn’t get in a without a local guide unless:- You are very comfortable in rough water- Winds and swells are down- You are comfortable swimming at least a mile in open water (in case you get swept out and need to exit elsewhere)- You have studied the site and the information there is online, and found the “bathtub” exit and are comfortable exiting from there- you have been hit against rocks beforeIf all of the above are true, continue to exercise caution.

Stopped here as this, as I was told, was a prime spot for seeing whales breach as its the passing way for whales between the islands. I was actually lucky enough to capture a whale breaching its fin as there will be a series of pictures Ive attached that show this feat! There are also a few pictures of blow hole spouts.Parking is iffy as spots are limited. Oftentimes, its treacherous trying to get out of the parking lot especially if youre heading west as there is limited visibility to your east. May take a few minutes to execute your turn but it beats getting broadsided or going over the ditch edge on opposite side of road... Youll have a helluva time getting outta that one!The Lookout has great scenery, beautiful dark blue waters and weathered cliffs facing the ocean. Not too far southwest of this spot, there is the Kahauloa Cove, as marked on Google Maps.

Review №91

The Lookout is great and all, but to get the best experience, find the secret cave, about 100m to the north of the Lookout. We Love this secret place. You park at the Lookout, cross the highway, head north to a non-descript bridge/overpass, scramble down the non-ocean side of the bridge to a small tunnel (there is a spray painted arrow on the bridge pointing the way). The tunnel is not very tall, so if you are 74 like me, prepare to duck a bit and bring a flashlight as the tunnel has a lot of potholes. Not many tourists go here because it is not the typical Waikiki/Honolulu/east side beaches thing. A word of caution, it is also a bit dangerous to get to as you have to cross the highway, then parallel to the highway. Once you pop out of the cave, you can climb down the cliff to the waters edge but be careful and not get to close. A rogue wave could easily pull you into the water and no one is going to get you out alive.
