You can view the Diamond Head Lighthouse from both the Diamond Head Road just above it, and also from Diamond Head Beach about 75 meters below it. There is no access to the lighthouse as it is off limits to the public. Just below the Lighthouse, there is a steep hillside and from this elevation, you get good views of the surfers and of Waikiki Bay.
The views from area are so stunningly beautiful, that we chose the base of a mimosa tree nearby as a final resting place for some of my mothers ashes. As I look at newer pictures of that cliffside, it pleases me to know it... I will return one day!
Cant get to this place. Its behind a fence, completely inaccessible by the public. Looks cool though.
Great place if you like jogging along the coast.
There were real Pineapple fresh drinks very reasonable
Good view, but has alot of homeless activity around area
Well, you cant really visit as its government property and you can only view from outside the gate. So unless you get permission (somehow) or know someone from the Coast Guard (guessing), you wont see much.
Hard to get to, steep trails and angry homeless who are being push out off other areas. Any other place people have compassion for the homeless but in Hawaii the state takes all there stuff in raids that they call sweeps and harasses them to no end. No so see they are angry.
You can see this relic of the past when you jog or drive pass Diamond Head Road. Its a United States Coast Guard facility and its gated. I dont think there is a way for you to go inside or up the lighthouse for a tour or anything like that.
There are no tours. You have to view it thrue a fence.
You can veiw from afar only, because its a home to a navy Commander
