Beautiful beach located next to the Hilton Village. Nice place to relax during the day with plenty of rocks and coral in the ocean to look at. This is also a nice place to catch the sun set and on a clear day you can watch it dip beyond the horizon. It is also a good spot to catch the Hilton fireworks on Friday nights starting at around 7:30/7:45. Theres showers and public facilities along the promenade.

It was so clean and beautiful! The vibe there was just right partly due to Corona and the lack of tourist overcrowding. We moved to Hawaii a year ago and stayed in Waikiki for a month. We were on the beach daily but somehow missed this little pocket. It was very family oriented with soft sand, aqua water and nice palm trees right on the beach if youre looking for a little shade! Highly recommended.

Nice beach — sand is a bit coarse in places. There’s only about 5-10ft (depending on tide) of non-rocky wading before getting into some less pleasant surface to stand on. Beach officially doesn’t allow alcohol on it, but the rules seem pretty relaxed. Most people are drinking casually. Waves are pretty absent. Overall, not bad — Still Hawaii so you can’t complain!!

The beach was very clean, and there was lot of police patrolling the area. There is public parking across the street. The parking fee is $1 per hour. Plan to arrive early because the parking becomes very limited after lunch hour. There are also.food trucks by the beach, and the prices are very reasonable. Some of them have limit of $10 to use a credit card. The beach is public and there is no charge. You may take snack, and your own drinks.

While waiting for our 10pm flight, we decided to chill at Kahanamoku Beach and relax. The beaches are clean and sandy, great for swimming, and you can watch the surfers. Keep an eye out and you may spot a couple turtles near the shore as well! You can walk around the lagoon boardwalk and go swimming in the calmer lagoon if you desire. Shops and restaurants are just a couple minute walk up from the lagoon too.Overall would visit again!

Warning, I can only speak for the east side of the beach.Waves:Gentle waves majority of the time. Great for small kids. There are surfers and people on paddle board at this location.Crowds:Not as crowded as the beaches east of it. You wont have an issue finding space. Not a lot of young people at this location. It was mostly families with children.Ambience:The shore is short. You have a short area of sand to enjoy the beach. The sand is very clean. The water is warm and clear. The water is shallow, but filled with lots of baseball size rocks. So be careful when you are walking in the water.Amenities:Lots of rentals and places to eat. There is a public restroom and showers with no charge.

Why everyone congregates on Waikiki, is crazy to me. I get its where all the action is, but Kahanamoku is lovely! My sister and I stopped through Honolulu on our way home to Australia, after a very rough 3 months in Massachusetts. We loved this little beach, the water was lovely, the sand was beautiful and also the park next to the beach. On our last night we sprinkled some of our Dads ashes in the water, at sunset. Its now a very special place for us.

This is an amazing beach, I highly recommend checking it out. Due to the coral in relatively close proximity the water on this side of the island is much warmer than it is elsewhere. Warmer than Hanauma Bay and much warmer than it is at Waikiki. The surf here is very calm, hardly any waves at all, we took our 3 year old here and she has an absolute blast. The sand here is unbelievably fine, it feels incredible. This is a launch location for Kayak tours, so you will need to be mindful of that, but there is a designated swim area that they are not allowed to paddle around, only launch out and come back in through.

Great place to take kids. The water is shallow enough so the kids can play in the water and it doesnt get deep to fast. Its a man made lagoon so there is no surf s its not connected to the ocean. Great place to learn to paddle boarding as there are no waves so the water is smooth. You can catch many sizes of fish but you have to do it by hand, they dont allow fishing poles there. Lots of rental equipment to choose from for ocean activities as this is Waikiki.

It is a very relaxed beach with beautiful views of the mountains, the beach, the city, and pretty blue waters and there are also many things to do here. Taking a dive almost 100 ft. deep into the ocean just off the coast inside of a submarine was an insightful and wild experience for me. Cruising out onto the waters made me feel free from the land as I watched turtles and fish swim by. One thing I heard that sounded like a fun experience was SCUBA diving. Having visited in May, the waters are also appropriate for surfing mid-sized waves and laying down to read a book or tan. There are plenty of food and entertainment options such as luaus and performers for the whole family to enjoy.

Good beach! Not much shade by the actual beach but by the lagoon there is! The lagoon to the actual ocean beach is only a few steps away. Parking is by the lagoon as well. Most of it is pay to park but you might get lucky!! There’s food trucks and good place for kids! By the hotels. So pretty busy always but wan ohhh beach for everyone. I don’t like the rocks here... and the sand is not typical feet “sink in the sand” it’s more solid ground with sand! The water is murky but it did rain all day yesterday. There’s better beaches. But for being close to your hotel. It’s great :)

Very nice chill spot to hangout at. A lot of open space. There’s a walkway to walk along the beach without needing the step in the sand. The sand does leave a white chalky dust type look on you. There is a lot of tourists but you’re in Waikiki so it’s expected. You can see diamond head from the beach and there’s rocks that surfers and swimmers jump off of. one of my favorite beaches because the view is just so amazing and there are so many places to go walk and grab something to eat or drink.

Located behind a bunch of hotels and shops. The end closest to the private man-made lagoon is very rocky. Very easy to stub your toes or even get cuts from the rocks. Theres a bit more sand as you move away from there but the beach is quite sandy to begin with. It is quite a busy beach so get here early to get a spot. There are also lots of chairs and umbrellas around for people to use.

Easy accesible beach, lots of parking but make sure you arrive early as it seems it gets crowded very quickly! The beach has rock sediments which makes it a bit murky white. Only downside is the bottom is very rocky (at least the west end of the beach, near the breakwater) bring beach footwear if you dont want to step on those sharp pointy rocks!
