Amazing hidden nature park next to the beach. It might look small but there are lots of walking trails full of beautiful views and wildlife. Bring water and hat! There are public bathrooms and great picking tables to enjoy the views. There is not fee to enter the Park. Bonus: go up the tower to get breath taking views of the whole park.

We saw so many crabs and iguanas! This is the second such center we have been to in the area. Nicely maintained boardwalk, all the information centers were closed. The tower that lets you see the surrounding estuary was a great idea. It has elevator or stairs. The boardwalks appear to be wheelchair friendly.

Congratulations to Anne Kolb and everyone else who was involved in preserving this little piece of paradise.Congratulations too on their efforts to reverse the damage that was done to the environment by greedy developers. There’s a lot to do and see here, parking is free. There is a guide book available to match up with trail markers to give you a better understanding of what is around you. The trails are very easy to walk and are ADA friendly. You could easily push a wheelchair down anyone of these trails and not have a problem getting around. The trails are open so the sun will beat down on you. Wear a hat or bring an umbrella to protect yourself from the sun and bring a couple of bottles of water so you stay hydrated. It’s a great place to spend time with the family and a great place to spend your lunch break if you work in the area. Go to the website to experience the full extent of what the nature center offers. When you’re walking the West Lake trails approach quietly, there’s a good chance you’ll see some interesting wildlife that won’t disappear before they hear or see you. Fun day!

Cool park to go to, huge location. They have bike, boat and other rentals. Place looks a little old or not maintained with the huge amounts of duck and geese. Will def come back for another walk but wish there was more shade in the paths, but a lot of room for all the families.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. A couple different little trails, and an observation tower. Easy to do with kids. Beautiful spot facing west to watch the sunsets. It’s fun to see land crab holes, amongst other fun wildlife and fish. There’s an exhibit hall, and several beautiful little spots to hold ceremonies or memorials. Right off Hollywood Beach, fun to do in the am then hit the beach in the afternoon. It gets warm on the gravel trails, don’t forget water !

This is a wonderful place to see what the Florida coast looked like before development. .We saw plenty of white ibises searching for food in the mud of the mangrove grove. The nature center educates visitors on the local ecology. There is also a gift shop for those who want to purchase a souvenir or two. And the boardwalk provides a great chance to see this natural wonder while getting a little exercise. Many use this place to park the car (for free) and bike or walk to the beach which is very nearby.

What a gem! I’ve driven past this a dozen times and finally decided to check it out. It’s a great place for a long walk in nature. Different paths among nature. Surrounded by water, the inter coastal on one side. Lots of shade but I’ll wait until it’s cooler to go back. There was a learning center but I spent my time outdoors. I’ll definitely be back with more time.

The tower was under construction during our visit, but otherwise we enjoyed our visit; it was quite hot and muggy for an April day, but we saw plenty of crabs and and iguana during our stroll down the boardwalk through the fruiting mangroves. Entrance to the park is free and it made for a nice Sunday afternoon activity with plenty of opportunities for taking photos.

This place is a little gem tucked away in the deliberately preserved mangrove swamps of Hollywood. It has a meeting hall large enough to accomodate weddings (the day we first were there) and its a lovely spot for an outdoor and indoor celebration. But the best kept secret is that only at high tide, you can take a pontoon boat guided tour among the mangroves to see some of the local fauna up close.

I love crabs!! This place is great for crab hunting (with my eyes at least), but you have to be in stealth mode as the little buggers are really shy and critter away as soon as they see you! There are plenty of mounds where you can see a city of crabs live and if you stay reeeeallly still you can see them moving about out the corner of your eye. I think I even saw some crabs that were righties and others were lefties! The view at the top of the observation tower is great, there is an elevator for strollers or bad knees and the center itself has some cool exhibitions. Great place to visit!

I heard about the Anne Kolb Nature Center while staying at my favorite place in Hollywood, Richards Motel and through a recommendation by the manager, Tyler I decided to go check it out. I allowed an hour as I thought that would be more than enough time, but ended up staying for more than 3 hours. There is a lot to see there and I enjoyed it all. The boat ride was a highlight as it takes you through the beautiful mangroves and into Westlake. Our captain was named Tom and he offered much insight during the tour. After the boat ride, I visited the Amphitheater, uniquely surrounded by mangroves and hope to come back sometime for an event. The Exhibit Hall was full of interesting exhibits featuring things native to Florida. A second highlight for me was the 68 tall Observation Tower. There is an elevator, but I took the stairs and enjoyed every minute of the walk up and the view when I got there. After the Observation Tower, I walked the first trail, which leads you out to where the boat enters Westlake for the tour. Since I was just exploring, I went into the Visitors Center, where I had initially gotten the ticket for the boat ride. ($5.00 for the boat ride and worth much more). After the Visitors Center, I ventured into Mangrove Hall, empty when I went in, but is a place they rent out for occasions. Then to the second trail, which was my favorite. On the way I encountered many iguanas, Im one of the people who like iguanas, and some raccoons, who came right up to me and were adorable. The second trail was beautiful and more natural and that appealed to me. The park was now crowded at all, which allowed for a lot of solitude and gave you that moment alone with nature. All in all, I would encourage anyone to make time for a few hours at the Anne Kolb Nature Center and dont miss the boat ride. Ric
