Great tennis court. It gets crowded at times. However, I cannot deal with the aggressive tiny flying biting bugs. Worse than mosquitoes. They are tiny and terrible. Bring deet! Also tried to go kayaking but they required us to bring our own life vests due to COVID precautions. Not sure if the policies changed. Call before you go.
I love this park. Great prices. Only opened selected days out of the week during this time though, be sure to check the day you go! Also their life vests are one time use only per day. When they run out, youll NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN!! They did not tell us that when we called and when we arrived around 2pm for kayaks on a Sunday, we could not go.
A beautiful and serene setting. Lots of other friendly kayakers and paddle boarders. Up close nature among the mangroves and distant city skylines. The dock and walk-in paddle board launch area is very easy access to launch and the parking is very close. Great area to launch for a short trip, or can spend hours among the trails and across the lake.
Great place for all family fun and activities. We went swimming. There are many other sports in this area.
Kayaking and Paddle Boarding rental was good. Relaxing and fun waters.
Rented a kayak here to go out with my son. It was a beautiful day to be on the waters. Will certainly be back here.Went back with my daughter and even better.
Its a fantastic park. Its well maintained, clean, and has what I think is one of the best views of the Hollywood area. Highly recommend for excercise and recreational activities.
Wonderful spot! We took our paddle boards and went for a paddle adventure. You are mostly protected from strong winds, with some places to hope off and explore. And only $1.50 per person to get in! You can also rent kayaks, and they have a nice playground, beach volleyball courts, and grills. Nice place to spend a day!
Such a wonderful adventure we experienced in our trip to Florida. I wish more people know about this cool place. Our group enjoyed our kayaking experience a lot. The nature was spactacular and having the chance to see all the little birds as we were paddling and those two little iguanas made it even more fun. The staff are the nicest gentlemen you can expect, patiently answered all our questions and help us have such a blast . Didnt I mention how cheap was the rental? Well it was student-friendly and we were so appreciative of finding this great place before we leave Florida.
This is a very nice park to bring the family. They have Basketball courts, tennis, volleyball, a water sprinkler park for the little ones. You can also rent kayaks for a 3 mile tour through narrow passageways in this immense mangrove system. They also have a paved trail along the water for walking and bike riding. Yes, there is public restrooms on property. Im not saying its the best park, but not bad for those in the area looking for someplace different.
Great park for kayaking. Gorgeous kayak trails.
Ive been coming here since middle school pretty much . A good 10+ years. Full courts Mon & Thurs @ 4:30pm.
Awesome, beautiful park! Great tennis courts, nice picnic tables and great intracoastal water-access also. And, also amazing is that during Coronavirus, Broward parks and recreation have waived all admission fees, so its amazing to just have a chance to get outside and enjoy lazying on the grass, playing some tennis, paddle-boarding, running or roller-blading.Just made for a great place to connect with friends while being socially distant and also get outside some.
The view from the oberservation deck was amazing.
Quiet place. No racoons.
Love to kayak West Lake. Never to crowded once we paddle out of dock area. Some days we get treated by wonderful plumage along the shores. Bring your own boat or rent.
We had an awesome time kayaking- the staff was great and the trails were beautiful and well marked. Very peaceful and relaxing out on the lake and a lot of fun navigating through the trails.
I loved it, beautiful, boat ramps, water skiing fishing beach front
A great get away park. You can kayak, walk, have bbq and many other things
The park is great but there absolutely nobody/staff to help you if you have an issue there. The tennis court has a sign saying that private classes are not allowed but there is always at least 2 courts giving private classes every Saturday morning, so bottom line, the part is good but there are no rules there, just go and do whatever you want.
Ann Kolb Nature Center is one of my favorite places to hold special events/weddings. Its beautiful, secluded & quiet. Youd think youre on a deserted island. Enchanted...by night; beautiful by day with nature all around.
Love this place please dont tell anyone about it
Nice little park to picnic or stroll, tennis, kayak, look at wildlife or the clouds. Im told there is one alligator in the lake, I have yet to see him tho.lots of fish.
Good for a brief walk. Neat and clean place.
Cool park for hiking trails and pretending your in a swamp. Not to crowded compared to TY Park.
West Lake Park is a large, serene park located along Sheridan St. and is open daily from 8am - 7:30pm. The entrance fee is $1.50 per person on weekends and holidays, and free during the week. The park offers so many activities for family fun such as:* Basketball courts* Interpretive/picnic shelters* Water play fountain* Small playground* Fishing pier* Handball courts* Racquetball/tennis courts* Volleyball nets* Canoe & kayak rentals* Vending snack concessionYou can walk around the parks trail to view the amenities. The park is so quiet that you can hear these big green iguanas crawling through the grass...EEK!Ive learned that the park has canoe/kayak tours and classes. You have to register for the programs. Once youve completed the Basic Kayak Class where you learn the required equipment, techniques, paddle strokes, braces, and turning methods necessary to properly handle a canoe and/or kayak; you can then experience either the Moonlight or Sunrise tour on West Lake. The West Lake Paddling Eco-Tour explores the trails of West Lake, learns about its history, and discovers its inhabitants.
Great park plus free parking on weekdays
This a little hidden gem of a park, They have kayak rentals, volleyball court, basketball court, tennis court, handball court. They have great paths for walking or jogging; the park is dog-friendly. During the weekend a lot of families do picnics and birthday parties.
Best experience for beginners, enjoy the white trial
Its amazing place. You can rent single kayak / paddleboard or double kayak / canoe. This guys work 7 day a week. We came from New York and have a lot of fun here.
It was better and will be agsin. All of the cool playground equipment was removed pre-covid and is now just blocked off. There are some nice open spaces and the boat rental is fun when its open. Its a good place to have a quick picnic, but then go across the street to Anne Kolb Nature center to hang out and walk around .
Great place for biginner kayaking. Cheap too $15 for and hour
Truly an amazing experience. Its highly recommended for nature lovers, family time, or a cute date. Great park for walking, kicking back, barbecues, basketball, tennis, and just getting some air.
Nice place, it is open now, small but quite.
Amaizing place to spend time with the family
Gorgeous well manicured park. water tower visible in distance. many parents out with their small kids to check out the play structures. there is kayaking and canoeing on the beautiful lake as well. entrance to the park is $1.50 a person on weekends (free on weekdays), and the boat rentals are somewhere around $20/hr. absolutely gorgeous park, very spacious and scenic. would come again with family!
Great Relaxing place.
Is very relaxing and quite scenic
Beautiful park I had my daughter birthday party here
Rented a pavilion for a party today. Firstly the nearest restroom was under construction, (exchanged with Port a Potty) the splash pad closed/gone, the staff picking up the recycles/waste, was less than customer centric while gassing the truck engine while we were crossing the sidewalk. All that and not even a discount for the troubles.
Love ️
This is such a gem! We rented a double kayak and went along the mangrove water trails and in the lake. It was so cool! We saw birds, fish, crabs, and a stingray on our ride. The staff was really helpful in explaining where to go and what to look out for. It was a great deal for the fun we had!
It was beautiful there. Muscovy ducks, iguanas and American crocodiles are living in the park. Theyre is a playground and lots of picnic areas even some covered.
Good for a walk. Nice and quiet.
West Lake Park is an amazing place to kayak! There are plenty of different trails to explore with the opportunity to see Wildlife everywhere. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and courteous and will do their best to ensure a great experience for each kayaker. The full moon paddle is a fun and truly beautiful even . 5 stars for this place. The only negative is that the marina doesnt open till 9 AM. Wish I could get an earlier start, especially on hot days
We love this park. Geocaching is fun here
Take some time and see what Florida looked like before the high rise condos came, once its gone it cant come back.
They have the best kayaking trail i have experienced. Great
One of my favorite places to rent a kayak and just wander through the mangroves and the water
Nice beach.. Very dirty
OMG! The water trails are simply AMAZING. We saw wild animals (birds, a huge inguana, fish) so close to us on trees and of course you kayak through falling branches in water. Their tandem kayak is better than any place I have seen in Miami ($20 per hour for double and $15 per hour for single kayak). There is $1.5 entrance fee per person. I visited in January.
Beautiful beach we loved it
Canoe and kayak trails are great!
This is a great park nice trails free parking ..plenty of wild life...I go there to walk alot.
Wilderness in d middle of d city...
Great spot well worth it ....come one come all! Bring the family load the cooler bring food snacks plenty of drinks and have awesome day in this beautiful city
Nice place to chill out
Awesome place to kayak and bird watch
Very good park, but certain parts need attention. The park itself is great, just need a bit of investment. Kids playgrounds and restrooms for example.
Excellent place for an afternoon walk!
This was so fun for my husband and I. We rented a double kayak for $20 and had a blast kayaking all afternoon.
We rented a pavilion for an employee appreciation here. There were about 25 of us and we fit well in the six tables at the pavilion, which was a decent size but relatively small. A plus was an electrical outlet right in the middle. Most of the water feature was broken but enough still worked to keep us cool. The bathrooms we were closest to were under renovations, as well. We really enjoyed the basketball and tennis courts because they were well maintained. Were all employees of another state park, and so it was nice to go somewhere else clean and versatile.
Great park. Great for canoes or a good long walk. Bring water
It’s usually a lot less crowded than other parks in the area, that’s why I love it so much. It’s also very clean and I’ve never had any safety concerns here.
This is a Beautiful park with a Boardwalk. They also have Canoes to rent. Boasts to Rent. The Staff is Kind and Helpful. They have a Midnight Canoe Guided Trip on the Full Moon Every Month! You Must Try This as it is an Awesome Experience!Plenty off parking.Handicap Parking also.Handicap entramce also. All safety gear is provided for you.I Highly Recommend This Place for All Ages!!#
Great place to kayak and paddleboard
Clean and very educational. Enjoyed the boat tour. Great place for the kids to learn about the wildlife around that area.
Beautiful place .....
Canoe and kayaking rentals by the hour. Paddle around the mangroves. If you like the outdoors, you will like it.
Nature at its best
It brings back really good memories for me
Good park to go kayaking.
I love visiting Anne Kolb Nature Center. Great meeting hall and exhibits. Nice nature trails. Cute items for sale in the office.
Its so peaceful and relaxing
It was quite interesting kayaking today. The lake itself was nice and fun. But then the worker told us to take the Red Trail and let me tell you, it was WAY too narrow! The mangroves full of crabs were so close to you, you couldnt even puddle! So we had to turn around and couldnt even finish the trail. Then we take the North White Trail back, like the woman told us to, and let me tell you how TERRIBLE that was! It was so shallow my kayak was rubbing the bottom against it. At one point, we hit a huge mud bump and had to WALK our kayak. If I wanted to go on a walk, I wouldve saved my 24 dollars and gone to a park and walked around! Our paddles couldnt even go in the water because the water was so shallow all there was was mud. When we get back to the marina, the man said he didnt know why the woman sent us down that path, apparently they never send people down there. So here we are coming back doing the womans job for her telling people not to go down there. It was the worst kayaking experience Ive EVER had! West Lake will not be getting my business again.
To call West Lake Park a gem is an understatement. This place is such a pleasant nature retreat to escape the pressures of urban life. I love kayaking here. During the week, this place is not busy at all. Even on the weekends it is usually not a problem to rent watercraft at the marina. I went last week Wednesday and me and my friend were the only ones on kayak between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. We took the Red Trail to Anne Kolb Nature Center. The marina workers and the park rangers are super nice. You can see birds, iggy iguanas, flying fish, and crabs here if you keep your eyes peeled; the animals camouflage well. I mostly kayak here but there is also a cool short jogging/walking trail that I have used.
Fantastic place to go kayaking. Make sure you go during high tide when its more navigable. But even if you dont, the main trails are deep enough.
Great place. $5 boat ride is totally worth it.
First time in area. Never used electronic pay parking app. Tried to download, register and use. Foolishly watched boat traffic for 10 to 15 minutes. Returned to car and found $20 ticket. Dont like this parking system at all.
Loved it my son had so much fun
Totally awesome place
Great spot to launch kayak. Quiet park to walk around in. Dog friendly (on leash)
The ship wreck boats were cool even though i dont think it was initial and i did sea the bird in the diagram. Peacful area. Not bsd at all. Make sure you have the app on your phone to pay for parking.
Nice little park.
Very nice park to go to and rent kayaks.
Great park . I use to LOVE this place and I was taking my dog for walks twice a day there and sometimes I paddle boarded there too BUT never again since I saw 3 alligators eating ducks . My friends still going there and they see the alligators too . I called to complain but they said they will not do anything about it until a dog or a child gets hurt . I don’t want to be the first victim ... I don’t recommend anyone to go till they don’t make the park safe again !
A very beautiful park! Everything from volleyball and basketball to tennis and kayaking. Had a wonderful time. Would highly recommend for you and your family. Much to do.
Such a nice place to de-stress. Quiet and serene with an exhibition hall, lookout tower and a pantoon boat ride. The boardwalks through the mangroves are well kept and the are is very nice. Loved it.
