IF YOU ARE ON VACATION READ MY REVIEW!!! This place was one of the most amazing welcoming and educational places on my whole trip. I was walking from dania to Hollywood and there was A/C while I was cooling off I took a chance to read the many displays they had available. It made me conscious of the ecosystem that I was calling a vacation spot. I became very conscious of my footprint and did my part like we all should to protect marine life and their enviorment.
A beautiful sanctuary and historic place in Broward County Florida that predominantly focuses on Sea Turtles and their care. Must see!
Wonderful staff with great educational experience of turtles. The best time to go is when they feed the turtle(s)
Meet Captain, a female teenager turtle who has had quite a life! She survived a boat-crash. They have converted The Carpenter House into her new permanent home after having visited several facilities. She seems very happy during her meal at 3:30pm you can enjoy a brief story of her life and ask questions to the feeder in turn. It does not open sundays and mondays. It does have a wheelchair access and there is parking right on the streets
This was a private home built in 1941 but recently turned into an education center focused on marine life; specifically sea turtles. It is on the north end of Hollywood Beach, Florida. The place is full of up to date and full of informative displays. But the most interesting attraction is Captain, their resident green sea turtle.Time your arrival right and you can see Captain fed and ask questions to the marine biologists caring for herIts free although parking is a bit pricey. You can access the beach via a nearby boardwalk.
Excellent environmental and marine education center, located on beachfront property.
Stopped by to learn about turtle conservation efforts. Always a good place to take kids. It raises awareness of the actions needed to preserve our environment.

We had a great day touring Carpenter house with family. Captain the sea turtle is very friendly. She will not be able to return to the ocean because of her injuries. While there Captain ate breakfast. Our guide Derek is very knowledgeable about the turtles, sharks, coral, beaches and our salt water ecosystem. You dont want to miss an opportunity to visit Carpenter House, Captain and the view all the museum exhibits in the main house and beach house.Carpenter House is open Tuesday thru Saturday.
This place is small, but really nice. Very educational for my kids and I. We loved seeing Captain the sea turtle. Its right along the beach and there is plenty of meter parking nearby.
