We had a fantastic time! The service was absolutely incredible and everyone was so so kind! At the Beach House their poolside snacks from the Sandbar were great!Brian Lee and Donna from the Sandbar were AMAZING!! They were the highlight of our experience and showed us the some of the best service we’ve ever received. Disney is lucky to have Brian and Donna as a part of the team!
Love this beautiful piece of paradise. Grateful to return there as a DVC owner when I can get there from time to time. & its by Shelter Cove, just about 100 steps away where you can shop, dine, listen to music, & take in the lovely yachts & marina. This resort has a quieter fabulous bay side view as well, with pool, walking trails, etc... & a huge added bonus is a private pool area for members only that is across the highway on the beach/ocean side. The resort is perfect for folks of all ages. This resort is a real GEM!!!
Absolutely loved it! We had our large family stay and we had 4 rooms. All of them were very nice. Enough towels and pillows to go around. The kitchen areas were nice and we had one that had views of the bay. Food here was great! The pool was fantastic! Kids and adults loved it! We will probably be back some day!
We are 1000% Disney people...and this is our first time to Disney Hhi, but not our first time to...hhi... again as always the CAST MEMBERS make the MAGIC !... We missed our trips to Orlando this year..but had the pleasure to meet a great HHI team...for ONE...night..and it is grand... protocols are spot on... all clean.. over the top... you can feel as safe as your own home.... would love to be back soon.... HHI team...well done ! Cast members MAKE the Magic... always.
Resort is great! Plenty of things to do...Disney style! Disneys outdoor mask mandate way over the top making it a challenge to fully enjoy oneself. Probably shouldve waited for the mask lunacy to pass. Hoping Disney comes to their senses soon.
First time staying here as a DVC member for a dozen years. The hotel is nice, rooms are very clean. The staff are great, friendly, helpful and kind. The rating for me when comparing to other disney resorts is between a 3 - 3.5, I rounded up. The location however is phenomenal! Outside the resort a beautiful marina area surrounds you, shopping, dining and bike paths galore.
We had the most wonderful stay at DHHIR. We were there the 1st week of April for spring break. The weather was a little chilly but it didnt stop our kids from swimming and playing at the beach. The grounds were beautiful and immaculate. And the outside activities were so fun! And they have every outdoor game you can think of. We played so much shuffle board we were sore! There are fun activities for kids that you book ahead of time at a cost. (They are slightly overpriced but were very fun) and several free activities that we really enjoyed like the camp fire and nature walk. We rented bike for the duration of our stay and really enjoyed riding them around the resort. The food selection is good but the on property locations are not open late enough in not opinion. Overall it was one of the most enjoyable relaxing vacations we have ever done. And cannot wait to go back. It is going to be our spring break tradition!
This is our go-to resort at Hilton Head. We love the location. The beach club is great. Convenient shuttle from resort to beach. Great staff. Excellent Disney-level customer service. The rooms are sized comfortably. Both pools are nice.
Very relaxing for adults. No pool or restaurant on site. Had to travel to another location. Other than that is was very nice. The staff was amazing.
Disneys Hilton Head Island Resort was an amazing stay for Mr O. The cast members were amazing, the facilities were incredible, the activities were immersive, and the location was stunning. If you like Disney and are chasing the magic, but feel like a real world escape away from the Parks, then this is the place for you. This establishment surpassed Mr Os expectations and thus was an easy 5 stars.
This has quickly become one of our favorite Disney resorts. The beach house is a short drive or you can catch the bus from the resort. The pool at the beach house and the one at the resort are both nice but the ability to hang at both the pool and beach are what draw us back time after time.
Friendly staff. Comfortable clean rooms. Quiet location on the marsh side of the island. Close to shopping and dining. The only downside is that its subject to Disney rule of face masking everywhere even outside. When its a hot muggy day its extremely uncomfortable.
Beautiful, quiet, relaxing resort! With the added touches of Disney! The customer service is amazing! Cant wait to stay here again.
We have not stayed here for an overnight stay. We live on the island and recently found out we could head over to this location and tour, shop and eat. We are going to go for Mickey waffles one morning with the kids and we can’t wait! We have shopped twice at the broadcreek mercantile. Cast members are always friendly. Grounds are out of this world beautiful. We forget that we are on the island that we see everyday. It takes us to that little piece of Disney when we can’t be at the parks. Once we can afford a stay we will be there.
Absolutely gorgeous resort, year round. The cast members are so upbeat and genuinely care about all guests, and remember repeat guests. I was especially pleased to meet a cast member from Canada! We will definitely be returning in the warmer weather so we can better enjoy the outdoor activities the resort offers, as well as the beach house. Our room (a 2 bedroom villa) was absolutely wonderful. It’s so convenient to have a kitchen in your room (we shopped at Kroger down the road) as well as laundry. The beds are SO comfortable, and the pullout couch and arm chair is also very comfortable (as I find all Disney pullout couches to be)! Very clean, and our housekeeper Pam had left a note on our fridge letting us know to call if we needed anything. The recreational activities are wonderful, and offer a variety of activities for the whole family. If it was warmer, my mom and I would have rented a bike - but the weather is beyond Disney’s control! We enjoyed the pool activities (the pool was closed today, as it was below 50°F) as well as the indoor activities we went to. We especially enjoyed the Mickey burlap wreath making! We cannot wait to return again!
I love being next to water so I had a natural attraction to this place. However for this to be a Disney property the amenities are few and the activities are fewer if your not a sailor. The convince to stores and restaurants is good. The overall experience is only average for me.
Great experience, but not a full Disney feel. That, coupled with Covid-19 activity cancellations, made this a good vacation but not a great one. Still, beautiful rooms and grounds and lived the Beach House.
Ive been coming to this place for years and how to continue to. Its a wonderful location and a great pace to live life. All sorts of wildlife you can see, great fishing opportunities, and the beach house is super close by!
Great place. Shopping and dining just across the bridge
What a fantastic resort! If you are a parent and not really into the whole Disney thing, then have no fear. The Disney-ness of the place is very subtle. As a matter of fact, if you didnt tell me the place was owned by Disney, Id be hard-pressed to figure it out.The rooms were top-notch with a full kitchen and the grounds were always kept clean and (amazingly) bug free! There was always something for our kids to do (which for them meant going in the poll all day). Some wishes: more space for fishing. You can really only do it from an area at the end of a dock and it fills up pretty quickly. Also, more outdoor game areas. Shuffleboard and other outdoor games filled up quickly due to only being a few available.Minor qualms about a great vacation destination!I would definitely go again!
Weve been going here as a family for years and have always loved it. Great rooms and incredibly helpful workers. The private beach house for guest is great to have as well. A great Disney experience!
Comfortable environments even for Covid 19 pandemics.
Is a great way to be at a Disney resort but not have the craziness of being at Disney. We are here in December and it is cold but very quiet. I would love to visit in the summer! I love the christmas decorations and every cast member we have encountered has been overly nice and welcoming. I will definitely recommend this to family and friends.
Love this place! Its Disney without the hectic schedule and crowds. The area is beautiful! The rooms are cozy, the cast members are friendly and helpful. Lots of hammocks to enjoy. Bikes to rent. Cant wait to return!
Had a super fun time here. Spent 5 Days there in a two bedroom and didn’t even get to everything. Both pools are awesome, fun activities for all ages, and I loved how they payed out the activity centers around the complex. Absolutely gorgeous views. We will absolutely be going again.
We had a wonderful 3-day weekend here. An easy 5 hour drive down from Raleigh, its a perfect getaway with the kids. We came over a February weekend, and because the two outdoor pools are heated to 84 degrees we were all able to swim both days (outside temp has to be over 50 for the pools to open). Huge hot tub, bocce ball court, corn hole, and camp fire ring added to the experience. The kids made tie dye tee shirts and we all played Disney Trivia in the community hall. We met the resorts real golden retriever mascot, Shadow, on our final morning. Theres a shuttle to the beach house, but we drove the one mile trip in our own vehicle both days. At the beach house theres a more adult inside lounge area, an easy lunch place to get sandwiches/salads and kid lunches along with adult beverages. Well be back!
Great place to stay. The fokes at Disney do it right!
Our first time here and its awesome!! Rooms are clean, roomy and quiet, lots of things to do and activities. Decor is quaint, currently decorated for Christmas. Love it!!
Love being here! This is truly our home away from home. The Cast Members are helpful, friendly and made our stay magical. We missed the appointed time for a resort activity, and when we asked they accommodated us by doing it at a later time. The food is yummy and I always enjoy shopping in the Mercantile. A small taste of Disney!
Definitely a family favorite all around superb service - weve been coming here for 10+ years, and its just as magical each time
DVC member for many years. This is a great beach, relaxing vacation. Not my home resort but love coming here
We had a one bedroom vila, and it was clean and spacious. The cast at the resort were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Very quiet resort, perfect place to get away and relax.
Staff was terrible. Super rude to us our whole stay. The bike rental staff and pool seemed especially tense about covid19 regulations and would go off on children for not using it at the proper times. I am a resort member but wont be returning to the island sadly. At least at Disney resort.
Nice resort, a fewer amenities than Vero and no elevators but nice overall.
Relaxing, clean, and quiet. Great vacation spot!
Wonderful resort, well kept and friendly helpful staff. Rent bikes if you’re able and see the local landscape.
Fun place to stay. Staying off season is great as it’s not too crowded and very relaxing.
Nice quiet place with the Disney touch! Stayed in studio in the Inn. It was roomy, clean and not far from the activities. Plenty of parking outside or below the Inn. Close to restaurants and stores, Golf courses, miniature golf and of coarse the beach, at which they provide transportation. The beach house is nice cant be beat, lounge area, snack area, swimming pool, ect. The main pool with the great slide is fun. Spent time on fishing pier talking with other guest, Had a blast.Cant wait to go back...
We have spent a week there in October every year for the last 3/4 years and are going back this October 2020!We absolutely LOVE IT ️
Cast members were amazing. Must meet shadow, the golden retriever mascot at the resort. Shadow appeared during the construction of the resort and then adopted as a cast member.
We love Disney properties and have visited nearly all the Disney resort hotels in the US. Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort was hands down the friendliest resort we have ever been to! Every encounter with a cast member made us feel welcome and not a single bad encounter the entire stay. Only down side is food options especially in the evening but we found several places close by and have some that will be on our list for future visits.
Boutique Disney experience that does not disappoint. Disney Hilton Head Resort is the smallest of the Disney resorts that offers a great chance to experience Disney without the craziness of the parks but with a sprinkle of low country charm. The staff is the key here- friendly and always looking out for your needs. It very much reminded us of the Disney Cruise Line experience we had. Whats great at the resort also is your options. You and the family can do as little or more as want. Plenty of kids activites available as well as adventures like kayaking and paddleboarding. The resort itself is situated on a Broad Creek island and is nicely secluded. If you like the beach, and Hilton Head Island has a fantastic beach, Disney has beachfront property that has a pool, food and drink that is only 5 minutes away. If thats not enough, the island has over 200 restaurants and plenty of other activities available. Come down and experience a side of Disney that is truly special.
This place is awful. If you do come watch out for a cast member named Connie. She is a “manager” and is very rude. I would stay away from this resort and go elsewhere. She made our whole stay awful.Beware of Connie and as long as she works here stay away from this resort!! You’ve been warned.
Masks required when out. Beautiful and very peaceful! Surrounded by waters and many kinds of boat to rent.
Our room was nasty, we found dirt and hair all over the place. The couch looked like it was taken off the side of the road and the bathroom was disgusting! I’ve been going to Disney World my whole life and have NEVER seen one so run down like this.
The floors here are extremely thin and you can hear everything your neighbors do 24/7. WiFi is horribly slow more than 100 yards away from the main building. Would NOT recommend this place for anyone and I suggest looking elsewhere on Hilton Head Island.
Beautiful Disney resort. Great staff and wonderful location.
The rooms are outdated the couches were falling apart they need to update this place pretty pretty badly spoken from a DVC member
All I can say is Amazing! This was one great vacation! Disney did it right again!
Most relaxing vacation! Friendly staff and lots of fun activities. Clean rooms, bike rentals on site, and beautiful views.
Really pretty place, love the surrounding area
Do not stay here. Ruined Disney for us. The doorman was the absolute worst and had zero Disney magic for our family. Seemed old and dirty.
We went during the Covid pandemic and the resort did well with handling precautions without making us feel oppressed. So bike friendly! If we went for longer than a couple days, bikes would be a must!!
We love all things Disney. Hilton Head gives you a taste of Disney Magic without being quite as in your face as a park. Every detail is attended to.
Ive been a Disney Vacation Club member for 19 years. Its always so nice to come here. The property is beautiful and the ocean is close.
I am a Disney Vacation Club member love this resort
Room was very clean and are stay as wonderful
Perfect customer service and attention
We have visited the last two years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Superb accommodation in a peaceful setting. Bike hire is essential as the island has excellent cycle paths and being flat it makes very easy. Would recommend a ride to the beach as the sand can be like riding on road.
Hilton Head is definitely the place to go! I went with my 2 daughters and they lived it! Three years later I went with my 2 daughters and son and they all loved it. Disney is one of our favorites so being able to have that in North Carolina is amazing!
Great place to stay. Wonderful people to enhance your visit from the people who check you in to those that take care of you. Entertainment is always first rate.
We were not notified that our reservation was canceled after trying to do online check in the DAY before we left for this resort. There was no notification no line of communication and no one willing to work with us on how to solve our issue me and my wife had taken off work, pack and had everything ready to go this leaves a very bad taste in our mouths about Disney and AWFUL customer service.
Great resort! Lots of activities for the kids. Many interesting things in the area to explore.
Typical Disney high standards. Very roomy and in great shape.
Incredible staff, beautiful resort! Amazing Disney service and southern charm! Very relaxing resort.
First time visit. Very hard to get in. Glad we finally a here. Looking forward to our stay.
What a beautiful little island! Made me nostalgic about the place I grew up. Fresh seafare to eat and lots of palm trees everywhere.
Always an amazing resort. Our stay was cut short due to hurricane Dorian but the cast members were nothing less than amazing with I formation and assisting g with moving our reservation to wilderness lodge in Orlando. Even though the team I am sure were preparing to evacuate the island I must say the majority of cast were at the resort helping prepare and help Guests. Highly recommend for a nice relaxing stay with Disney hospitality
We love this resort. The staff is warm and a true personification of southern hospitality. There are bikes to rent, activities for the kids, ocean access and beautiful pools.
What a beautiful, peaceful and fun place!
Awesome. Loved it. Always Disney quality and customer service rocks!
An amazingly relaxing place. There are kids activities, a heated pool and hot tub, rentals (bike, kayak, and canoe), a fishing pier, shuffleboard, table tennis, foosball, checkers, bocce ball, cornhole, and hammocks spread out around the resort. There are different size villas from suites to at least 2-bedroom villas with a full-size kitchen. Each villa has a balcony and laundry appliances. The pool and entertainment area also has a mercantile shop and a quick service food with outdoor seating. There is also a workout room. On Wednesday nights, there is a bonfire with smores. There is also a private beach house 1.9 miles away that can be reached by private vehicle, resort shuttle (every 30 minutes or when called), or by a walking/bike path. (It is well worth the walk/run if you like.) The pool house features a heated pool, table tennis, and billiards as well as quick service dining (yes, they have Mickey Bars!). The beach house also has activities, bathrooms, and an indoor area with TV. The beach house has direct access to the beach. There are showers to rinse off sand prior to going back into the beach house. There are restaurants close by (a few within walking distance) that will give you a 10% discount (the resort main desk will provide the list). The staff? What can I say? Disney staff = the best possible service! Weve been here three times and plan on coming many more times.
Absolutely gorgeous. Everyone is super friendly and the views are stunning. Perfect place for the biannual family holiday.
Just a great place to spend some down time. Great staff and very friendly.
My family and I had an amazingly magical time! We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and activities. I want to start booking our next trip!
Just visiting friends. Beautiful location overlooking Shelter Cove Marina. Small rooms but have a nice balcony. Nice pool and hot tub
DHHIR is paradise. From the peaceful views to the exceptional staff and the fun activities, it is everything you want for a relaxing holiday, whether it be alone or with family and friends. The beach house is a quick hop, skip, and jump away from the main resort, and the entire property is impeccably managed. Highly recommend DHHIR as a must-stay destination in Hilton Head!
We are not DVC members, but our family of 5, with boys ages 7 to 11, stayed here for 5 nights in a two bedroom villa in June. The cast members were extremely nice and helpful. The lifeguards were all super diligent keeping an eye on everything. This is a huge resort and even though it was peak vacation season it didnt feel crowded. There are lots of activities and everyone was friendly and knowledgable. The amenities were great and included things like: shuffleboard, life size checkers, bocce ball, horse shoes, and super warm water in the big dipper pool. Our two bedroom villa was plenty of space for my wife and I and our 3 children. It included a stocked kitchen with full size stove, fridge, and dishwasher. The main bedroom had a king size bed and the other had two queens. The only drawbacks were: the beds were a bit hard for our taste, the couch and chair werent super comfortable, and the quick service closed at odd hours.
Great place to relax Disney style!
The employees make this place amazing
Loved it. In traditional Disney style everything is well done. I will say I would have appreciated more open hours for food and drinks at both the beach house (lunchtime) and main pool (evening). Our daughters loved the beach even when cool and breezy. The pools are a nice relaxing area. We rented bikes and explored however there is a lot to be offered outside of bike range. We will be back!!!
My first Disney experience ever. Everything about this place was amazing from the service and friendliness of the staff to the pool and beach house with another private pool. As well as the private beach with beautiful soft sand and the views from the balcony. First off I want to thank Joe, the area manager. For his amazing customer service and friendliness,. On 2 occasions the beach house ran out of towels. Both occasions Joe kindly instructed me to go down to the beach and he would bring towels down to me. He was a man of his word bringing down towels as well as treats for our entire group (there was 9 of us). All staff members take the time to talk to you always with a smile. They truly make you feel welcomed and at “home” as they say when you drive in. It is conveniently located a 10-15 walk to the grocery or 2 minute drive. Our villa was 2 rooms with a full kitchen. We made every meal, the kitchen was well equipped with cutlery and plates for the group. Don’t bring lots of cloths if you stay in the villas. Their is a washer and dryer with a family out size we had at least 1 load of laundry to do daily. I just cycled through swim wear and sleep wear. On the grounds there are plenty little games. Horse shoe, bocci ball, mini putt, corn hole, checkers, basketball etc... they have jungle gym for the kids and bbq and hammocks for all. Lots of day time activities for all. Make sure to sign up early for the events and adventures and activities. The sun is hot and it’s humid, bring lots of sunscreen and drink lots of fluid. The only bad thing I can say is the night life on the opposite side of the bridge closes at 10pm. So no real night life after the kids have gone down for the night. This in no way reflects Disney as everything there is perfect. I think our group of 9 loved every part of our stay and would 100% come back. Thank you to all the staff for your generous hospitality during our stay. Hope to see you all next year.
Great resort for a family vacation!!I loved the experience of staying within a Disney resort that is outside of Disney in Orlando, Florida. The resort itself is nice and up to date. Nothing looked out of place or broken, which is awesome because it shows the staff takes care of the place. And the rooms with the beautiful patios are awesome! Two things I need to add!!!1. The Beach House, wow!!! Awesome idea, location, and place to spend time in!!! Super comfortable, and private, I literally loved it! Just one piece of feedback, you should really consider re-vamping the location. Make it look less run down and more up to date and fresh! Either way, the beach house is awesome, just wanted it to be more modern, up to date!2. We were really excited for 90’s Disney Trivia, we named our team The Taco Belles (lol). However, just a little disappointed that we did regular 90’s questions instead of 90’s “Disney” questions. Really took us out of that Disney feel!
Its Its beautiful and the people are awesome!
Shelter Cove Marina area. Most beautiful lights around..Boats too.
Was here probably 10+ years ago. Loved it then, forgot how wonderful it was, love it now too. Is Disney quality, lots of things to do or do nothing and its so nice to relax, lots of history and museums and outdoor activities.
Staff is amazing! Wonderful resort to stay at!
We are a family of 5 with 3 little ones. They are in bed by 8. The one night they had karaoke by the pool until almost 10pm. It was very loud. I would also recommend getting a 2nd floor unit. We could hear everything above us. We didn’t sleep well. If it wasn’t for the noise I’d definitely give this place a 5 star review. The staff was great and did what they could with our noise concerns. They even gave us a nice gift basket for our troubles. I would go there again if we could get a 2nd floor unit away from the pool!
Had a relaxing time. The beach was beautiful. Short walk across the bridge to shops and food.
We really enjoyed our stay here August 2018. The staff are always friendly and accommodating at Disney. We went to one of the evening story tellings. It wasnt what I was expecting but turned out to be a really good time keeping all my kids enthralled in the story. We were disappointed that there were no characters there but we managed to have a good time without them. There were the pools, games, auntys beach house, and the beach itself. Prices for food and drinks are on the pricey side but that is to be expected with Disney. The rooms were great though. We got the 2 bedroom which was more than enough space for the 6 of us.It was a very fun vacation with Disney.Recommend it to anyone.
You are supposed to be a guest to visit but we ride or bikes from Palmetto Dunes over to visit the gift shop and get some Disney snacks.
Had a great time here. Mickey pancakes and heated pool. Shuttle to the beach house on the ocean, with pool tables. Lots of kids activities
I was staying near by and wanted to buy something from their gift shop, however, they were being really rude and wouldn’t even let me purchase anything at their gift shop because I wasn’t a guest, and kicked us out right away.
This resort is on its own little island. The theme of the resort is a fishing lodge with a mascot dog named Shadow. It is extremely kid friendly. The rooms have full kitchens. The pool has a small slide with lifeguards. They also have great activities for both kids and adults. A very relaxing place for a vacation!
Great place to visit its not over the top disney.there is plenty of things to do on the island and in bluffton
This is one of the best DVC resorts there is!! Very relaxing, peaceful and beautiful! The staff are among the friendliest and helpful of anywhere Ive stayed. I would recommend this resort to anyone and everyone!
First time visiting here, sadly we were only there for 1 night, however we would love to come back, staff are outstanding. Accommodation was superb, surroundings were lovely and so peaceful. What a great place to relax at, the pool was a good size and had a kids slide, there were hammocks around the place, eating areas, shop, bikes to ride and a variety of things to keep kids and big kids amused. Highly recommend a wee visit here.
My favorite vacation spot ever.
Really enjoyed at Disneys Hilton Head resort. They have a real good atmosphere. Its a nice place for vacation. Staff are friendly. Go there every chance I get.
