The GEM of Hattiesburg! When we moved here, our expectations for the local zoo were pretty low. Im so glad we were wrong! The way they have utilized the space available and the effort theyve put into their facilities is amazing. We love the Hburg Zoo!!

This is a great place for family fun. Lots of different animals. Theyre even trying to add more to the zoo. Like giraffes & elephants i think. Nice zoo. Only took me an 120 minutes to get there from Biloxi. They normally have a petting area but of course its closed do to covid. All though we still feed some goats.

Such a cool zoo! Interesting animals. Fun for little ones to enjoy a day out with a short hill to slide down and a splash pad to play in. Keep a sharp eye to make sure you don’t miss the baby alligators. Well designed walking trail through the park. Priced fairly for the size of the zoo. The gourmet popsicles topped off a great family outing.

August 1, 2020, The price has gone up a little bit, to eight dollars per adult . It’s a great zoo they have zebras, cows, the birds, alligators, different types of cats, monkeys and so much more. They have concession stands, snow cone stand and drinks. They have different things to also do there like a water splash pad for the kids, a train, you can walk on ropes above the people. It’s a great little zoo it’ll take you maybe 2 to 3 hours.

Always A Fun Day At Hattiesburg Zoo! We visit many times a year with my granddaughters. Its like home to us now. We all enjoy every moment of it. The staff are very informative, and nice. The animal exhibits are well kept. Animals are well taken care of. Many things for children to do. Not Expensive either.

I absolutely love this zoo! You cannot beat the price for the animals you get to see. We spent about 2-3 hours here. Small enough you can make multiple rounds and actually get to see all the animals awake who were sleeping on first pass. Lots of fun stuff for the kids! If you’re local or passing through, it’s worth checking out! We will be back!

A fantastic inexpensive outing for the whole family. Its hard to beat the value. It is a small zoo so there is not as much to see here as say Audobon down in New Orleans but the exhibits they do have are well curated and taken care of. Plus the are constantly improving and expanding. Cant wait to see whats next for the little zoo!

Myself along with my brother & sister in laws went to the Hattiesburg Zoo on Wednesday October 22. The weather was just right, we had a marvelous time . I went to the Hattiesburg Zoo for the first time in years, and I must say I was very impressed! The cost to get in was lower than I expected. They have a good variety of animals for being a smaller zoo, but my favorite thing was how many activities they had for the kids. Splash pad, train, carousel, ropes course, tray sliding hill, and the list goes on. They also sell Pop Brothers popsicles which are totally worth the $5. They also have a grill which serves alcoholic beverages for the adults. I’d recommend going in October because they go all out for Halloween. Will definitely make the drive from Brandon to visit again!

Awesome for kids!!! We stoped by on our way through Hattiesburg and we’re there for 2 hours. For entrance, train and carousel It came out to $12 per person for us, not bad at all! If you are wanting to see a lot of exotic animals, then you won’t be that impressed, but most zoos I have been to don’t have a lot of things for kids to interact with and this one does. Would definitely go back! I do wish they had recycling there, maybe something they will choose to do in the future.

We visited the park area today and went to a quiet area on the side of the Walking Track. There was a good bit of trash on the grounds, used condoms in a few places, soiled baby diapers and various drink bottles strawn on the gazebo area. There was a large lined garbage can easily located in clear view as well. The grass had been mowed and the flower beds looked really nice. I cant fault the park for what others leave behind but isnt it a shame that when out of town visitors come to our Park and Zoo, they see how little we care about our city of Hattiesburg and areas our children play?

Hattiesburg Zoo is a nice little attraction an hour north of Gulfport. The zoo is on the small size which makes it easy to navigate. It probably takes an hour to walkthrough all the exhibits. The grounds are extremely clean and maintained. Its obvious the organization that runs the zoo takes pride in it. Theres also a splash pad and train for the kiddos. My family always enjoys the visit to the zoo.

It was very enjoyable, except when we got to the High Rope expedition. It was 3:25 and the girl told us they do not give tickets after 3:30. Ok well, it wasnt 3:30! Needless to say, we still didnt get any tickets for the High Ropes. My 9 year old daughter was very upset. She even cried. She was born missing her left had and can do everything, but she wanted to give that a try and wasnt able to. Shame on them! Everything else was good though!

I was disappointed to find out that the zoo that we love so much was not only not offering refunds for last night, but they won’t even do transfers. My family excitedly planned last night so that we could spend the evening with my dad. We hadn’t seen him in 2 years and he desperately wanted to spend time with us and the grand children.Due to our work schedules, we were unable to get to the event until 7:00. We were hopeful, and really tried to make the night work. However, as soon as we pulled into the parking lot, the bottom fell out.My father has failing health and can hardly walk as it is, let alone in a downpour and the kids wouldn’t have been able to even see because the rain was so hard. The smallest of them, would have been struggling to breathe. Most of us have been laid off and struggling for months and the money we spent to go was a sacrifice. If you and your family are some that weren’t able to attend or did attend because you were told no refunds or transfers allowed but didn’t enjoy due to the horrible weather, I encourage you to email the zoo at [email protected] and let your concerns be known.️UPDATE️Sooo, the verdict given....No refunds or rain checks despite lightning and heavy rainfall. Their excuse “ they were open.”So because they made a poor choice to stay open we have to suffer through hazardous elements with our small children or waste our money.Sneaky theft! The absolute least they could do is offer rain checks so families could get a fun outing, but it shows they don’t care about those who support them, only lining their pockets with stolen money.I have screen shots of lightning reports, screen shots of their denial for refunds or rain checks, screen shots of others who actually went in and tried to enjoy but ultimately had to leave due to lightning and hazardous conditions. It was THEFT!!!!!!

Its a must see for people coming through zoo is under construction to make it better for the animals. Its got a zipline, a walk through area where u can get closer to the animals, mining gems thing for the kids, got several play areas, they have a wonderful splash pad for the kids to play so make sure you bring their swimsuits, train around the zoo, a carousel, and a concession stand. Zoos very well kept especially since the city has taken it over and shaded areas and fans for the parents watching their kids play. They also have a park on premises with various playground equipment. Also has a petting zoo with sheep and goats. On another note the animals look happy and well taken care of unlike some zoos I have been to.

Based on todays experience alone I am kind of upset. I called and asked them if they were sold out of the zooboo tickets because I wanted to take my son. I explained to the woman on the phone I did not have a debit or credit card and that I couldnt reserve the tickets online and the lady said they were not sold out yet and that I could pay cash at the door. We got there and they would not let us in and the people out front said they werent even set up to take cash. My son was really disappointed and started to cry when I told him we couldnt go in. I got him all excited and told him what all he was going to get to do at the zoo during our 45 minute drive there... They could have told me on the phone that they werent selling tickets at the gate and I wouldnt have drove so far or got his hopes up so bad.
