Highly recommend. Like the others say: this is great spot for kids and dogs! Linda the camp host was very welcoming and even opened up the wood lot for us because we arrived after it closed. She also brought the wood right to our campsite. Clean bathrooms and showers. Beautiful trees, scenic river and grass to run with the kids and dogs. An oasis on the drive from Portland to crescent city. Camping sites are big and well spaced. Right on the river. Quiet with no road noises. Enjoyed falling asleep to the loud sounds of the crickets chirping under the full moon light. We will return!
The park seemed like it is probably nice. Unfortunatly, my family was not there to enjoy it.We arrived just after midnight last night due to being evacuated from our home because of the wild fires. All hotels are full from Medford to Portland. Or friend took out pets, but couldnt take us. He suggested we stay at this park as there are bathrooms and such.It was dark when we arrived and we were exhausted. None the less, we paid the $25 required for a night at a campsite and chose a spot.We didnt realize there were spots other than RV spaces as the actual camp areas were farther down the trail and we didnt see them.In the morning while we were getting ready to leave, the host came and was very rude. She made it very clear that we didnt perfectly follow the instructions and were in a spot that costs $35 a night. Thanks. We have no issue paying, but it was an honest mistake and she could have at least been decent due to the situation. The park wasnt even full, so although I admit we messed up, we didnt realistically make them miss out on any cash. The only saving grace is that she didnt force us to pay the additional $10.Look maam, I appreciate that the place is well kept, but show but of compassion and understand that situations like stress and darkness can cause honest mistakes. Please in the future, be kinder. We will not recommend the park do to this.
Nice county park right on the river. Spacious campsites, plenty of trees, nice showers, friendly staff. Stayed 10 days and would recommend, not a RV park but full hookups. Roughing it the easy way. No cable.
Cool park, beautiful river, seems like could be good fishing, definitely will be a good summer swim/hang out spot
Always a pleasure to stay here. Peaceful, relaxing. Hosts are wonderful
Clean, quiet woods campground. Cold at night, not too hot during the day. Wonderful park host.
Always have gone here since I was a little one always have a blast with calm water to swim in
Very clean and tidy park. Great fire kids
The camp host was awesome this place is fun. And super clean!
The park attendant at this campsite was the rudest human I’ve ever met. If you like getting woken up by someone screaming that your tent is in the wrong spot at 645 in th morning, only to see that your 10 ft on the wrong direction in an open field with NO one around then this is the place for you. Honestly this woman should be fired, her communication skills are awful. I’ve never been so verbally assaulted like that by a random stranger before. You would think if you pay for a campsite your wouldn’t be treated so poorly.
Great park! Love access to the rogue river
GREAT place.nice clean fire pits. A little walk to river, but if parked in good RV spot, you can see river. Duck that neads new 3d foot.Great atmospheres. Peace FULL, Ben there MANY times.
Very relaxing and clean park?
Nice calm water it was perfect for my 5 year old son to play in the water
Always a nice little campground.
Very nice well kept small county campground.
Nice place to look for rocks
Great camping the river was nice. Watched Hellsgate boats go up and down the river.
Great park for camping and day use
It was very hot the day we were there even before noon but then its August and what would you expect?
One of our favorite spots!
Great place to take the boat and cruise. Good fishing spot s well
No better place to dip in the river and watch the jet boats go by. Accessible by regular car but large rocks present. Loses a star because the single toilet is shared with the nearby park and the wait can be long.
Shade tables water...what more can you ask for?!
The facilities have improved since I last wrote my review. its a great park and the restrooms were clean and I was able to wash my hands and dry them. The campsites were cleaner and overall it was a really good experience.
Great place to go with friends and family!
Lovely river access. Good place for a group BBQ or other gathering. Room for games and children and dogs to run around.
This by far is one of the nicest riverfront camping spot Ive ever seen. Well maintained and quite. Great for everyone.
Great little park on the river
Have only been down there twice now but I like it. Its clean, and there is plenty of space. Another great South Oregon River Spot.
Went and saw the hydroplane boat races.
Great fishing and a great place to launch your boat
Typically very peaceful, and well kept. And not far from home. Enjoyed our time there.
Crazy lights up in them there hills.
Its nice
Beautiful place to visit
Its a pretty park to visit. Boat ramp, playground, large field, volleyball net. Camping area has only one restroom for men, and only one restroom for women. No soap in either one. If you dry camp (tent or FSC RV) your site will not have running water. Wish Id known that sooner. Throughout the entire campground, I found only one faucet available, and it was in someone elses site. By available, I mean nobody was connected to it. This particular sure (6) has two faucets, and the people were kind enough to share with us. Showers are closed from 8PM to 8AM. Although I understand why (so people who arent camping there dont use them), I personally found those hours rather inhibitive. I can see closing them at 9, but reopening them around 7. Due to the restrictive water access, restrictive shower times, and lack of soap in the bathroom, I have it a 3 star rating.
Easy water access. Fun for everyone of all ages
Nice wide open river the current was safe enough for the little ones
Park host is amazing, very friendly knowledgeable. Park was clean, stocked up with tp, and kept up very nice.
Is always clean and peaceful place to go relax by the river
Nice
Wonderful park, very clean with plenty to do.
This park is awesome
Unlike most parks along the mighty Rogue River, where the topography changes every year taking away many of our beach areas thus putting you closer and at risk of those dangerous currents of the mighty Rogue River. Griffin Park actually has more of a Pebble Stone Beach with sand currently at the waters edge. With a wider section of the Rogue River this allows you to have more river fun. Please always use proper safety when playing in the Rogue River keeping eyes on your young children !!
In 1966 my aunt and uncle lived up the road. We would go to the river and find cool drift woodWe would day camp with our grandma, swim in the cool water. We took the jet boat and went past. Oh the meormiesThanks.
Very nice. Easy to find. Easy to park.
Great spot on the river, Well maintained and clean. The park caretaker and host very friendly and helpful.
Nice park along the rogue river.
I have only visited this park to launch my boat and fish. Dont bother using the regular launching ramp. The gravel bar works much better and there is plenty of room. The restrooms are clean and the park is well maintained. There are regular and frequent law enforcement patrols so your vehicle is generally safe while you are out on the water. You can see bald eagles, deer, and occasionally otters. It gets very loud here, and for a mile up and down the river during the weekends leading up to boatnick as the racers make practice runs and tune their screaming two stroke motors.
Pretty park. Needs more full hookups.
Beautiful Riverside Park where you can park right on the river and setup day camp. The current is easy going so your kids dont get swept away too easily, dont forget the life jackets for them regardless.
Such a nice county park. Camping, day use, swimming, fishing boatramp and more.
Its a nice place.
Nice park with plenty of parking an river access.for boating, floating, swimming.camping at the camp area.plus a play ground for kids.a pleasant park to visit.
Beautiful area great fishing as always
Best place to take family and dog
We enjoyed the peaceful playground and mossy lawn, the pebbly shore of lovely stones and quiet solitary fishermen in the distance and opposite shore.
Beautiful spot on the river. Very clean Campground with good camp hosts. No Riff Raff.
Well maintained campground on the river
Clean, safe and easy access to the Rogue River.
Nice out of town, on the river park.
Beautiful place on the Rogue River.
Shady, clean, close to the river
Awesome park to camp. Not too far from home. Yet, away from the home and the host is very nice.
Parking space for travel trailer extremely unlevel. 2 drop off my bottom step.
Fun park on the river. Went there to watch the hydroplane races.
A beautiful place to go camp or for family get togethers.
Great Park. Very Helpful Camp Hosts. A special thanks to Jake for a Great Job Well Done. The showers and restrooms were clean.Camped 10 days in July.
This is a beautiful campground.
Beautiful
Amazing
Had a great family time here! Been here in years past and always love it! Great spot for kids to ride bikes play on playground and swimming. This years host were kind of a pain. Always on our butt for parking fees, parking location. Our company would barely get out of their car and they were right there in the golf cart. Little bit of a power trip. Apparently they have forgotten it is a campground and everyone there is usually honest people just trying to enjoy themselves. Very rude! Hoping that next years host are a little more chill and friendly
Great place but park host thinks her primary duty is policing not hospitality; wears a uniform and answers questions with questions.
Good access to the river. Driving out onto the rocks has some nice Sandy areas to hang out at.
Nice, clean and relaxing close to Grants pass and feels like your in the country
Great place to bbq and swim
Dont bother. Wasting fifteen miles on your car and then being asked for a day pass is a huge mistake. By the way, their website doesnt have a day pass fee listed on the main page. Huge scam.
Omgosh What a beautiful Park!
Great place for awesome day outing for the family. Slower water for kids, dogs and fishing. The sandbar goes out really far.
Our friends were camping here, so we went to visit them. Campsites are clean, the bathrooms are very clean. This is a very large Park.
Amazing green and clean and camp hosts are the BEST?!
Nice park by the Rogue River. Havent camped. Only day tripped.
Great park, very large area, great campground, showers/toilets
Beautiful
