Really enjoyed our stay here. We were in a 40ft 5th wheel and had great space in our slot for truck, rig, and follow behind vehicle. Very large side yards between rigs. Clean bathrooms and beautiful park ON the river. Theres a playground directly adjacent to the other side of the park. Clean restrooms. Great location in town. My only complaint is that you cant stay longer than 2 weeks!
I grew up staying here for 3 weeks every Summer. The family that ran the park became family. We fished every morning, swung on the swings, played ball at the courts behind the park. Went back after many years. Its still the same. Even the American flag out of rocks is still there. Very clean. Each space has a lot of room. Good hook ups. Fishing still good.
We spent 5 nights here. great camp hosts. mostly quiet but for the guy with the very loud jeep cherokee.
I pulled in here to let my dog out and take a walk thinking that it was a park. but you must be a registered camper in one area which costs a minimum of $25 or have a pass to be in the other area which I am not sure of the price. so this is mislabeled. This is some kind of pay to picnic area.
Nice spot and quiet. Slow time of the year but still looks like a good place for summer activity
Our first ever state park. Nice and small. Located in town just outside of subdivision but you would never know it. Quite and forest appearing. We were in a pull through with picnic table and bar b que. Nice paved road. Park was small. Our rig is 31 w/toad and we needed to back out of our pull through only because dw wasnt sure we would make it.
Camped at Schroeder Park for a long weekend. The camp was clean, well kept, and was monitored daily. The showers and restrooms were clean and safe. Sites were close but good tree coverage and the way they were set up on the RV sites helped make it feel private. The tent sites were in a field with not much room between. Only other note was there is no soap in the restroom so bring your own. Great river access to tube or wade.
We sit and eat lunch quite often at this spot. There is a beautiful view of the Rogue River, and we get passed by the Hellgate boats daily! Its always fun to wave at everyone going by.
Great park to get on the river in Grants Pass. It has a nice boat ramp and slow current to get your rafts or boats etc. In the river with. I usually go down the river to Griffen park so its the perfect distance. This park also stays pretty clean so thats also nice.
Park host is great. Facilities are clean and there is a lot of wildlife. Campsites are very rocky and its hard to stake down your tent.
Had a lot of fun. Very relaxing. Was able to relax by the River and watch the floaters and jet boats go by. Camp host was amazing, very helpfu,l and friendly.
Nice park in city limits BUT THE COUNTY CHARGES WAY TO MUCH .SHOULD BE FREE TO WALK NOT WORTH $5 A DAY.
Great beautiful park with huge shade trees. My puppy loves to run in the dog park.
Schroder county camp ground is by best state or county park and camp ground and heads up above most the more exspensive resort type snooby camp grounds !! the park it self is gorgeous Rogue river running thru it and very nice camp sites clean several times a day by park host rangers and grounds keepers. Restrooms considering our COVIN19 problem are exceptionally clean to higher standards than the state parks! im speaking of Valley of the Rogue and mostly all in my 8 years in Oregon on the I5 corridors of Oregon State Parks. The Host and all Employs are extremely good at thier jobs well Trained by Sean The County Park ranger. The camp Host Miss Marissa is like a worker bee buzzing around and i must say in 8 years i been living. full time in RV is the most efficient hard working Host of any park i been a guest at.I believe State of Oregon should APPLAUD the entire staff at Shroder during our pandemic Covin19 crises for doing what i as a veteran consider above and beyond call of duty and be held as example to not just county parks but State Parks and rangers alike. Maybe Katie Brown might have this team men and women do training at all state parks particular city county also. Or to effect train staff who train other Parks to thier standards of protecting us the general public and guest at the park! So in conclusion if i could afford to stay permantly at shroder and county parks director let me i might,, but id miss my beachs ocean smells ocean moisture and sea gulls snoopy chases. As my friend Racheal would say I become a coastie now im spoiled, I agree. Thank You Host and Rangers and Park Employees for such a great park great stay and keeping us safe and in few cases reminding goofy old man to be safe for my benifit as well. I for one am thankfull during my fire evacuation off makinzie river route and Otter Creek north east waldport and the u. s 101 or.38 or36
Nice boat ramp great place for dogs to do bussiness
Awsome place to camp and there is a good swimming hole in the river less than a half mile away definitely take the kids.
Great for camping. Close to town also.
Good spot . $33 + $9 reservation fee .
Lots of memories here nice spot to run around with the dog once again
Great clean park. Close to town and easy access
I dunno, camping in the middle of town had always not been my forte. BUT, Shroeder Park is a nice lil spot. Green grass, plenty of shade over the camp sites, river, dog park, playground and plenty of food around since its basically on the edge of town. I would pry rate it 4 stars if it was somewhere if the beaten path. But for folks who want to be close for whatever reason, this is a good lil park. I enjoyed it.
Quiet and clean. Great river access.
Would have been a five star rating, but the cottonwood falling out of the trees was pretty bad. Hosts were great.
Nice all year round. You can find your Zen while watching the river run.
We were only in the park for 5 minutes when the camp host came up to my boyfriend and tried to get him to come party with her she was totally tweaked out and looked to have a bunch of druggies hanging around her camper .We were worried we might be robbed so we did not stay there.
Nice park Nestle right in with the trees and the river
Love finding rocks here
We use the dog park for Babygirl and she loves it and brings great joy watching her
Beautiful beyond compare
Right on the Rogue River, Acorn Woodpeckers here too! Nice efficient hosts, park is well kept, showers and restrooms. Close to downtown Grants Pass. And quiet!
Our park host was wonderful! Full/partial hookups. Tent loop. Boat launch. Dog park. Quiet. Some fairly private spaces. Clean bathrooms.
Near the river beautiful.
Had the best time today, Thank you Everett.
Literally 50 ft from the rogue river .Clean bathrooms also!!!!!
Great place to get peace of mind
Was my fave park in G.P. Oregon Coolest thing is when the speed boats zoom by or when the workers come and pick up leaves in their super-SUPER sized bags.
Was a great time very ️ and nice staff very corgial
Clean park. Very little homeless around if any Swimming is not a plus here. Fast flowing water. Great fishing spot and gathering spot for parties. Offers a Bathroom and boat dock . ducks to feed and a park Up above as well as cramping for tents and campers. The handicap spot at the rivers side is the best! We camp here often in the summer. Hosts are very nice.
We had fun meeting other dogs and their owners, and playing
Another Oregon gem! Our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the scenic experience and already have plans to return.
Nice boat launch. Camp spoys.
Great ways to spend the day. On the Rogue River with camping basketball and tennis and a beautiful dog Park for large and small dogs.
Trailer spaces are to small and too curved for trailers.
If you like fishing its the park for you
This is a beautiful park, it is clean, the park host are friendly, and helpful. The sites are large and the park is quiet, great dog parks as well a playground and basketball courts, then you can walk to the river and fish or just enjoy .
Great campground.
Its beautiful and quite serene.
Pay to play with my 5 year old son and my dog at the dog park. That should NEVER happen! Liberals need to allocate tax funds to maintain the parks. Not pan-handle patrons trying to have fun with their families and pets.
Nice clean park by the river. Good camping spots.
Camp hosts are way too old to do their job efficiently
Havent camped there because I live very close but really enjoy walking my dog . I buy the annual parking pass each year to help support my park. Seems well kept and peaceful
Beautiful and peaceful as always ... i really enjoy it here, its always very well maintained and has the best camp hosts . They keep a close watch on things 24/7 and still give you your privacy .
Beautiful park with picnic area, but no bathrooms by dog park or tennis court.
Great place to camp. Tent area is being remodeled. If camping this summer bring your own shade......
The park has not looked this good in many years. The landscaping and facilities look well cared for. Great Rogue River location.
Pretty expensive for a piece of dirt. Its as much as house rent or more per day added up.$240 per week just for tent spot and two cars. Thats $960 a month for dirt. RVs cost $1750 per month. Do the math. Josephine county Parks and rec ripping families off left and right. so much for taking your kids camping might as well just pitch a tent in the backyard. Oh wait Josephine county made that illegal. Getting the picture yet?
Closed part of the day use area, so now only available parking is by the boat ramp.
Very peaceful nature view & plesent
Joined here for the pub boat
Great park with walking trails!Love it!
Very nice for day visit and some RV
Lovely self-supporting County campground. Spacious campsites. Late arrival ok, space permitting. However, bathroom access requires a code, so no access if arriving after host hours. Nice landscaping, trees galore, reasonable prices ($30 for full hookup, less for tent). Nice looking yurts available.
This place is not safe l had homeless people outside my camper almost every night l was there. Also drug addicts driving through all hours of the night. I was told that it is in the country and the sheriffs department will not come after 7 PM. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
I have been using this very well kept park for 7+ years and mostly the small dog part. I always enjoy being there with many friends & their pets. The entire park is very well kept & I always refer my friends with RVs to use it they are always very pleased too
Nice quiet park. Friendly staff.
This park was vary clean and cozy. The hosts are very polite and welcoming. I would definitely stay again. It has a boat ramp and plenty of space. I think there is even a dog park and play grounds next to it. Very nice place!
Aggressive camp host.
Very pretty
The camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. I was disappointed that so many trees in the tent camping area were cut down but encouraged by new growth on the stumps, should look much better next year. The bath house could use some updating but is kept clean. Overall a good experience.
Boat ramp, convenient camping services, free use of floating devices
Its so beautiful here!️With that being said we were constantly harassed by the nasty awful elderly camp host woman, we paid on time both days but they never cease to leave people alone!Get some new camp hosts that are actually friendly human beings and ill give you a beeter rating.Until then, She made my weekend umcomfortable, awkward and like i had to walk around on eggshells, shame on you.
Nice little dog park kept clean and the grass is kept mowed.
Awesome place!
Ppl are friendly place was beautiful an clean only draw back bathrooms are small need handicap shower an toilet
Ive never seen it to be over crowded.
Neat, clean, friendly staff, pet friendly, woodsy, roomy, and very family friendly!
Very cute little spot to hang out by the river.Clean and private playground, large grass area, basketball hoops and doggie park. Great for picnics, lots of shade and tables.
I have stayed Schroeder Park for a week in May for about 7 years and Julie and Trudy are The BestCamp Hosts... in my opinion....Ever.... so accompanying and friendly...Great Job by them.
Peaceful there in construction for tent area right next to the ri er seen some nice sized Sturgeon
Finally, a dog park that separates the large dogs from the small. Well groomed and nice size. Wouldve rated a 5 if we didnt have to pay to visit there. We never seen a dog park that charges but other than that it was nice and all the folks we met there were very friendly.
Nice County Park! River access, fishing, boat ramp, camping, day use and I really like the dog park. Though the dog park could stand some improvement, its really a great place for you and your dog.
Spacious camp sights and friendly camp hosts. Just make sure to bring some bug repellent, the mosquitoes can be pretty bad.
I booked this place the night before our arrival date. Because it’s still chilly to tent-camp at night in April, and we have a toddler I decided on a yurt. We were very excited about this location because it was close to Wildlife Images and the Rogue River. However, when we arrived at 3:30pm the day of our reservation there was not a camp host available at the office. We waited around for about 20 minutes after I rang the bell, and decided to venture down to our campsite. I used the code that was provided on my yurt reservation and as soon as we opened the door, the aroma of marijuana and mold coming out of the yurt was so overwhelming we almost gagged. Also throughout the campground appeared to be permanent tent-dwelling residents. My husband and I knew we couldn’t stay there with our daughter. The park was also right next to a neighborhood and it didn’t have the rustic feel we were looking for. Very disappointed. We forfeited the $49 to stay here and ended up booking a hotel instead.Update: As of 5/1/18 The manager of Josephine County parks contacted us 1 day after our attempted-stay and left a long voicemail apologizing for the inconvenience of our experience and offered to refund our money. Reserve America credited my account. Thank you Sarah for your wonderful customer service and for taking reviews seriously! Moving my review from 1 to 3 stars for that! :)
My hubby and I was traveling staying in our car, decided to camp a night there no electric hookup was charged 30.00. The camp areas weren’t very nice and there were homeless folk living there. Wasn’t very impressed like we were when we went to the McKenzie campground up through blue river!
Hot showers.
Cool place to chill in your car and relax, but google is wrong there is no camping!
Great & clean dog park, large area. Quiet
Good to watch folks enjoy water activites.
