Beautiful place. We sat and watched boats come and go. Clean, comfy. Quiet. Very nice.
Breathtaking! Romantic! Beautiful! A must see if youre in the area.
The fountain show is definitely worth seeing. It is free, and it puts the Bellagio fountains to shame. There is plenty of good seating, so there is no need to show up early to find a spot. The website for the fountain show will provide a play schedule of the synchronized music if you are interested. It is nice that they mix up the shows with different kinds of music.
Normally would be a great time and place but due to covid no light or fall shows wasnt as exciting as we hoped
I have been going to the Grand Haven Musical Water Fountain since I was a little girl and love attending it now with my family. In the spring, summer and fall, you can go on their website and see what music will be playing as they have a nightly set list. It usually starts a little after dusk. Sometimes they do themed nights like Disney, Star Wars, 80s, 90s and Country. If you get there early, you can walk over to the food area and get an ice cream cone or cup of frozen yogurt. The new seats are great or if you bring a blanket, you can enjoy it on the grass. Remember to bring bug spray!
We went to their 4th of July fireworks, there was 3000 fireworks set off tonight, it was AMAZING!!!You could tell how they orchestraed them all to music, and how much hard work by folks went into this awesome production.I cant begin to count the people that were in attendance, but not 1 bare spot was seen anywhere within blocks. The police help insure a safe departure for hopefully everyone, and you know my reviews..no sugar-coating, so..Be prepared to be patient and kind to others!! They all want on the road to get out, and everyone should let at least 1 car or truck in at each intersection. Its a slow way outta there, but in my opinion so worth it.The restaurants downtown are super expensive!! A burger, no fries can run you $12.00!! Plan to eat before hitting Grand Havens downtown district. Its all geared for tourists, there are tons of places to eat outside of downtown, and thats what we did last night.Hotels can easily run you $500.00 a night in the summer and fall, there is also a St.Park you can stay at, but reservations will be needed. There are plenty of other motels and hotels that are a cheaper off the strip, but again...reservations will be your key to finding a place to stay here. The musical fountain is always the best show, and runs nightly during the summer and is free, plan on bringing a chair or blanket to sit on, or you can sit in the bleachers if you want to come early.Happy 4th of July folks!!! Hope my review was helpful. God Bless the U.S.A.by
Nice open space. With few ice cream parlors nearby
Taking water and light to a whole new level.Ive seen the Musical Fountains for most of my life. It is an absolutely wonderful place to go for the evening. The show itself is truly a magical experience. You can really see the time and effort they put in to pulling off a great show. Walk the pier and see the sun set behind the light house, then head over to watch the magic begin.
It was a very nice spot for tourists. This is almost 70 years old!! Imagine how many people were in awe back in the day. Still looks and sounds awesome. The people working in the surrounding stalls are very polite and accommodating. Best to bring your own chair and come in early for an awesome view. Even the people watching the fountain were very polite. Everyone cooperates and respects each others view of the fountain.
It’s pretty great. I miss it being repeated throughout the night. It only runs once now. And I miss the classic old school start announcer. The pop music at times can make you cringe, but it still is pretty awesome. To note, they do not have food here or serve food here. The closest restaurant is across the street. Or the Coast Guard Festival will have food carts down the road. So a rating that says they have food or service is a mistake or fake. This is entertainment from across the river. You park your boat, walk the boardwalk, or sit in the park or stadium to watch it.You provide your own blankets or chairs. It is wheelchair accessible to watch this.
Beautiful and clean a wonderful place for a family get away
It was a nice night to people watch. But no musical fountains because of covid.
A good attraction to see if youve never seen it before. A fountain that moves and dances in time to music being played as it changes colors. The music changes so its not always the same. Its free which is the best part. It has to be viewed from across the river in the downtown area so dont follow the current Google Maps instructions which lead to the other side of the river where the fountain itself is located but is a private Marina area which the general public is prohibited from entering.
Beautiful place and awesome free musical color fountain you can watch from stands or a boat if you have one. Great thing to do if youre walking around Grand Haven some time
It really is great. Its awesome when they have themes. The colors are also really stunning. Definitely a must see before you die in my opinion!
No better way to spend a summer evening. Get an ice cream cone and sit back, watch and listen. Sitting in the new seating area is best for the sound. New sound system could be improved so the level is consistent.
Beautiful Great way to relax before heading home.
This is a great attraction for tourists and locals alike. Great playlists and light shows are entertaining and fun for all ages. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets for the most comfortable experience. If you forget blankets, THE WET MITTEN nearby has inexpensive ones you can purchase. The new lawn seating seems so much safer than the wooden bleachers that used to be there.
More for younger kids, but theyve made plenty of improvements to it over the years. Still enjoyable to see.
Fun late night event. Definitely worth doing while you are in Grand Haven.
Its always a nice show to sit and watch. Longer would always be better, but always worth being there. And the new sitting area is really nice too
Was in Grand Haven overnight and enjoyed going to the Musical Fountain. It started at 10:10 and lasted at least 20 minutes maybe longer. It is well worth the adventure to go and see this. Hard to believe its free. Kudos to the people who take care of this fountain and provide a lovely show for everyone.
The lights were absolutely stunning and the water was majestic but the music was a bit sub par, though that should be suspected at such a distance
Love listening to music at the musical fountain
Always a great time! Lovely shops and restaurants all around.
Grand Haven Musical Fountain a.k.a. Dancing Waters is a place/tourist attraction I have been coming to since I was a baby! I have introduced this to my husband and then to my kids as they have grown through the years, and my kids are all grown up now and we still make it a tradition to come to Grand Haven and come to the Musical Fountain, we enjoy the Wow (worship on the water) on sundays through the summer, we usually pick which one we want to see the most, wish we lived closer so we can see them all and see the dancing waters more. A must stop and see if your in the area, you wont be disappointed.
They only thing I can say about this is that you better come early for parking and a seat!! It fills up very fast and you need to bring your own chairs or blankets now as they did away with the bleachers.
The Musical Fountain was a wonderful evening experience. A must see! You sit at the amphitheater and watch the show. Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy.
Unique experience ! Lovely setting and comfortable seating to witness the singing fountains!.
Good change of pace for a Sunday evening worship during the summer months
Amazing shows. The best times to watch the show are the fourth of July and the Coast Guard Festival.
Absolutely a wonderful place. Kid friendly.
Beautiful Grand Haven staple. I wish they still did Christian music on Sunday nights for the fountain music. Glad there is worship on the waterfront.
Its an impressive show. Worth checking out once if youre in the area, and there are plenty of nice places around to grab some ice cream or a get a meal.
Loved the fountains in the past. Went tonight for The greatest showman....they have a new sound system that they have to tweak. Couldnt hear it, people left in droves. I trust this will be fixed in the future.
Clean, airy and friendly ♡
One of my favorite places in Michigan
Musical fountain is close for covd19
It was relaxing to watch and listen to the music!
Always a nice show.
We are here today for opening weekend. It’s very fun. Ice cream first across the street then the fountain. Dance if you dare in the pavilion
Our family walked downtown tonight for the Coast Guard concert. It was so many more people I think than last year. There was No parking anywhere near area so we had to park over by Culvers. We walked downtown and there were so many choices of food vendors to choose from it was hard to make a decision. The musical fountain is beautiful and so entertaining for all ages. Lots of fun!
They had a live band that sounds really good. Always a great time in Grand Haven.
So easy to get to (for even the handicapped). Very cool light show, fountain and sound system.
Great experience! On the channel. Fountains of colored lights set to music. New seating directly across & benches or bring your own seating on the lawns along the channel. Good family entertainment. Starts a little after dusk. I do recommend the experience.
Closed due to the governor questionable executive order
A delightful way to end the evening
Great place to sit and relax, great sounds! Great view!!! Overall great show! Will definitely visit again.
You will love this!! Kids love it too. Take my grandkids there!!
Totally amazing awesome stuff ... first time there ... they have different themes every week .. you gotta check it out
Beautiful!!! Went 5 nights in a row! Free! Spectacular fire works at the end of coast guard festival! ️️️
Very cool! Worth the trip!!
All of our friends raved about the fountain, so we had to check it out. It’s basically like a Christmas light show set to music. It’s nice to see that there are different playlists used, so you can go multiple times and see a different show. The night that we were there, they played my daughter’s favorite song, so she thought it was fabulous! Make sure to check their website for each night’s start time and playlist.
Growing up in this town- the fountain is just something that adds to the nostalgia of living here. Now, my kids love it just as much as I did as a kid.
Relaxing evening will go many more t6.
Great time nice music and light and fountain show
Awsome free family entertainment in a beautiful setting. Walking along the channel their are several concessions. The new seating area to veiw the fountain is really nice but many places to lay a blanket in the grass and enjoy the show.
We go several times a summer. Well worth the 2 hour drive! AMAZING!
Cool experience! Not sure Id make a long drive for a second experience again, but one was worth it. If I lived within 20 minutes of Grand Haven, I probably go frequently.
Our family really enjoys coming out and watching the fountain while enjoying some food from the nearby shops.
So fun the bands were great and the fireworks outstanding!
Great evening show. Nice music selection - free!
Did not see it working today.
Was just ok.. Christmas songs in July was not my favorite.. the setting is cool enough.. lots of friendly dogs and owners
Nice Star Wars show, the music was obviously great, the lighting effects are good, but once youve heard a couple pieces it gets a bit repetitive
Very calm and relaxing place. no Admission fee and a lot of seating. highly recommend it
Neat place.
Could use better music but we really enjoyed the show.
Fountain was a lot of fun, and the town is super cute. We checked the website to see what music was playing when and then scheduled our visit around that. Variety is pretty good-heard everything from Owl City to Matthew West. And Anthem Lights America Medley is fun to hear/watch as well. ((Note - the mosquitoes are bigger than birds, so make sure to slather on the bug spray!!))
Beautiful gem!
The water show was amazing but the BIG boat that blocked it not so much
We love Michigan ! Go Detroit
Never grow tired of this place. Watched it in the early 1980s.
Great experience. Hope to take family back someday
Wonderful time! I miss the bleachers though. Bring a chair.
Mesmerizing! Combines features of a choreographed Christmas light show on changing water fountains, with reflections on the river. Reminiscent of Northern Lights!
The tribute band we saw was great. Pretty city and people are nice.
Its shut down for now
Always a magical time
Fun for everyone, with modern music and classical its a great FREE event for the family.
Any night is a good night to go see the fountain !!
We go as a family at least once a year. This is the first year I wasnt happy. They changed the seating area and took out the bleachers. When we finally found a place to sit we couldnt really see anything because of all the people standing in front of us at the railing and people walking around. Probably wont be back next year. None of the pop machines worked either unless you walked all the way to the other end and then you dont get what you pushed the button for.
Fun family entertainment. Perfect to end a busy dat
Always fun! Great programs & show nightly in the summer!
Gorgeous and fascinating! My 2 year old loved it and enjoyed dancing and running around while the show played
