You get to double down here with 2 items of view.I will say when I punched it into google it did take me to the pier walk side vs the boardwalk side.So pay attention so you can walk out to it.We walked the opposite side but still had great views and it was lovely.If you do walk the pier side be cautioned of slippery surfaces with the moss on the pavement.Water crashed up and the breaker is wet so I wouldn’t wear tennis shoes or you will have wet feet.

It is the best light house and beach in Michigan. I have never bored to come here to get refresh, relaxed. Any season of the year, It is alway beautiful. Sunset time is the gold time! When visit west coat of Michigan, this is a must see place.

Was beautiful to bad Google maps took us to the wrong side. It was a 21 minute drive to get to the right spot and we were heading home and didnt want to go 21 minutes and then travel 35 minutes back in the other direction to head home. So make sure to double check directions before going.

We enjoyed spending some of our honeymoon in Grand Haven - walking the beach, watching the fountains, attending a concert, golfing, and spending time together. Terrific beach getaway.

The Grand Haven Lighthouse is a cool place to go to when you want to beat the summer heat in West Michigan. It sits near a really great beach that has plenty of room for playing volleyball, playing in the sand, or just soaking in the sun or swimming in the water. It is really fun to go there in the winter time and see how the ice changes the look of the lighthouse and the surrounding area. Be careful on the ice though, it can be dangerous.

Well worth a visit in ALMOST any kind of weather. We were there again in June2018. We were sad to see that the trellis was gone.

This is a beautiful pier. You can walk your dog and I even saw a Parrot while there... someones pet, but hey, you never know whats going to be out there. Also, loved that it was next to the Campground. It is well maintained from what I could see.

Historic Grand Haven. Visit the pier every time Im here at the park.

Visiting the pier and lighthouse is a must for anyone in Grand Haven. The lighthouse is an iconic Michigan site. As of late 2019, the pier has been resurfaced and the catwalk has been repainted and repaired. The catwalk is not accessible to the public. The same goes for the interiors of the lighthouse and lighthouse-attendant house. You can walk to the end, but be aware of strong waves which tend to roll over the pier. Overall, the lighthouse is a great photo-op and provides an opportunity for a nice stroll that fully embraces the icon of Grand Haven.

Its just not really fair that we get to call this place home. We gladly share our space with the tourists every summer, because it really is breathtaking. Best place for sunset fishing. Glad to see the lighthouse preserved. Proud of this place.

I stopped by this place while travelling from Silver lake, MI. Nice beach but it was busy during memorial weekend (what can you expect). Took a walk around Lighthouse. Beach is beautiful and clean. Less food options are available.

I come here often. It is a gorgeous place, the locals are friendly, and the whole town is easy to navigate. It is well worth the visit - even through the current renovation process.

Wonderful way to spend a day by being able to walk out to the lighthouse.

The deep water level is now over the original cement and use extreme caution if you venture to the front because the waves come right over the pier and WILL sweep you off if you are not paying attention or go on a wavy day

Currently they have the pier to the lighthouse blocked off, as the catwalk is being repaired. Its a beautiful place. Sign said end of 2017 for pier to reopen.

I loved spending time at the beach with my wife. I would recommend anyone who wants to walk the pier to wear appropriate footwear. With the wind driven waves I wound up with soaked feet.

Popular Tourist Area with spectacular views from the pier. Undergoing restoration currently. Active Lighthouse with no tours. There is a State Park adjacent with a beach front, but this is not a site for young children. Heavy water current around pier with steep drop offs, and no barriers.

Very dangerous pier. I do not suggest going out there unless weather conditions are perfect. Parking lot is also terrible and falling apart. Also no beach access. I suggest the south pier if you want to enjoy a nice beach.

They just need to finish the end of the pier, but great for walking from downtown to the pier everytime I come down here.

One of my favorite places to visit. Beautiful Lake Michigan beech, shops and restaurants.

Walking down to the pierhead is fun and amazing, you get splashed and can feel the breeze. On the right side the water is wavy and restless, as boats enter the pier, but on the left side is calm and has amazing colors. We took breathtaking pictures.

We catch big cats out there, nive people and dnr is more than friendly. Grest placr to fish

I love going out here whenever possible. The pier has just re-opened after extensive reconstruction and its an easy walk. I also ride my bike out often. Warning to those not from the area: be very very careful as Lake Michigan is very high at the moment and the waves are often washing over the pier. People die or here nearly every year who have underestimated the power of The Big Lake. Definitely come again when the catwalk goes back up in 2019. The people-watching is great and the people are all so friendly. Great place to see a spectacular sunset.

Beautiful beach, and pier

The Grand Haven South Pierhead Outer Lighthouse, commonly called the Fog House, is one of the more unique lighthouses along the West Michigan shoreline. Easily accessible via the pier, it was recently renovated and is a must see for lighthouse fans (it is currently not accessible because of pier reconstruction, which is scheduled to be finished in the fall of 2018). During the winter months, spray from the lake and cold temperatures transform it into an ice sculpture.

After entering Grand Haven State Park, be sure to take a walk out to the very end of the pier. Its a very nice place to contemplate success and beauty.

A spectacularly red and distinctive lighthouse jutting out upon the pier towards Lake Michigan. If youre in the Haven and happen to be by or in the state park, look towards the water and spot this olden lighthouse, its still maintained today. The walk on the pier gives you great views.

I love the sea breeze and the walk on the pier.

If youre not careful, then you might drive right into some guys driveway. Theres another park across the channel that may get better views of the lighthouse at sunset.

If you’re looking for a great view, this will provide just that. The pier is the perfect distance for a nice little stroll, and the lighthouse is a brilliant red that contrasts the background. I went in the winter when the shoreline was frozen, and you could walk on the ice and get a very cool perspective. There were a lot of people even for how cold it was. It was nice to see so many people enjoying it, though!

When this pier and lighthouse officially opened January 1905, it was a big deal. Unfortunately, the ship captains did NOT know the lighthouse had been relocated north. Very cool pier that worth seeing. Its a long walk but its right next to the beach so you can cool down there after. Saw a few teenagers jumping of it but i would be a little cautious doing that specially when the water is not clear.

Take a walk down the Grand River board walk and end here.For those adrenaline junkies out there. The lighthouse is a great place to jump off into the river.
