We came to visit the temple for the first time in October 2020. We arrived at 9:30 and all the food was ready to purchase but there was no line. Because of covid they have changed the way you order. Park near the Buddha and walk to the right around the building. It was very quick and efficient. You walk up to a lady at a booth and they have a paper sign with what you can order and prices. You pay her cash then step back and wait for them to call your name. We ordered 1$ Thai iced tea, pad Thai, pho soup, amazing fried rice. Fried chicken set which came with wok fried chicken, papaya salad and plain sticky rice. And 1 pork satay on a stick. We walked around the area where they were cooking and observed the different methods. People were kind and spoke to us. When we went to visit the statuary and person from the community was so friendly and answered any questions we had. So beautiful. Such a unique vibe. The monks come out and get food for the week from the community around 11 and do alms and songs.
I go most Sunday mornings for some delicious authentic Thai food. They only serve on Sundays from 9 til 1:30. Cash only. Its an outdoor market style spot. This is the actual temple where the monks live and worship. I believe the proceeds from the food sales and with many volunteers helps run the temple. The food is wonderful. Do yourself a favor and go experience it.
Ive been going to the Sunday market for years now. Cant get $1 Thai teas anywhere in town. Make sure you get there early if you want to beat the lines and get pork tips/Papaya chicken. Ive learned to get there at about 8:45am. Only downside is if you are looking for vegetarian food, they get upset about making any modifications. I really think the Wat should consider offering vegetarian options!
Great food, wonderful place to congregate and you cant help but admire the families that put it all together
We love to go here, great community, they pray Sunday morning and on Sunday they also serve food, like street food, amazing, authentic, and delicious, and you get to eat it outside. They have pho, pad Thai, chicken and rice, pork on a stick, fried sweet potatoes and fried plantains, also fried chicken with sticky rice and papaya salad. And in the far back they sell produce and desserts that you can buy for to go.All to support the temple. If you are in fort Walton or surroundings you have to visit this place.Thank you
Sunday market was great. Probably the most genuine prices and high quality food Ive ever had.
Wonderful experience! Sunday market is an excellent lunch and great time eating among the trees. Pay a visit to the statuary.
Beautiful temple. Every year or so I come down and there is always something new and a little bit of expansion has been done. I love the Thai market on Sundays. The chicken and pork lines seems to be the longest. Which is fine because I love eating the noodles. A lot of Thai sweets and vegetables. I do miss the coconut dessert stand. There is a little play area for the kids and people do bring their dogs.
We both really liked the experience. The temple is beautiful and the people kind. The food is fresh, local, and really good.We had a soup that was like a Ramon dish with beef or pork, and noodles. Is was awesome. Many other foods to try and the farmers market was very cool with many unique things to try.
This is s MUST if you appreciate Thai culture and food. It is cash only, but great Pad Thai, fried rice and Thai fried chicken.
Just went there on their first day of reopening to get some authentic Thai cooking. There was one small sign stating Order with an arrow pointing to the open yard.Walked around the roped off area and asked a couple of the people cooking how to order and they did not seem to know. Piles of cooked food and no way to get to it. Probably will not go there again
This place has the best Pad Thai and Fried Chicken. The lines are usually long and slow moving, but that is how you know it is going to be good.
Friendly workers great food at a good price
Leland Vanderpool: Lol if youre only intent visiting temple was *to eat*, perhaps you should visit more often, to gain an acutal mind, body, spiritual experience, and not that of gluttony- just saying- IMO. Be best.
This was an unexpected surprise find! The market on Sundays have great food, fresh produce, unique gifts. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy your food under a canopy of trees. Don’t forget to try the cookies! Get their early for their chicken on a stick, it is so good, the lines get long and the always run out!
I love attending the market and eating the fresh made market food. I have tried food from every booth. Everything is amazing! Be prepared to wait in line for the fried chicken and papaya salad but its worth the wait. I also recommend making a trip around the building to the statues. Its beautiful.
Love their $1 grilled pork sticks and sticky rice. The beef soup is amazing. Everything is fresh and prepped at the temple. They usually run out of grilled pork before 12 so I try to go early.
Wow. Exquisite. The vibes are just.... wow. I cant really tell you about it, youve got to experience it yourself. Its just,... wow.

A friend introduced me to the Sunday market at the Temple and I’m so glad I discovered it! The coconut rice cakes are to die for (they’re 5 tokens/dollars)! I also love the noodle soup served by the nice man with the cool mustache (it’s 7 tokens). The fried potatoes are also delicious. Bring cash to exchange for tokens. This place is so peaceful to visit.
There is always great food and great people. All locals should know about the Sunday market, its amazing.
The used to be hidden gem of Fort Walton Beach is no longer. Long lines for food on Sunday but so worth the wait. Great atmosphere and people, and you learn to appreciate and respect a different culture...what more could you ask for.

Low quality food served by unfriendly people! No hello! No thank you! No vegetarian options! every dish has meat in it! FYI they only take CASH! You have to buy tokens from a desk. Actually the lady who sold the tokens was the only friendly person. Will not go back!
Good food at a reasonable price. Go every Sunday.

Love the food and great prices
Thai Temple has a Ceremony once a month in addition to the Sunday market. For the big ceremony you can enjoy Thai dancing, Thai boxing, etc. Even you dont join the creremony inside the building, you are welcome to ask questions about the Buddhist religion. The monks are very kind and the Thais are so friendly. Right now, they provide a Thai Summer School teaching Thai Language, Culture, and Music for children by Thai teachers from Thailand for American children who are interesrted. I saw those kids enjoy learning different culture without flying to learn in Thailand when they are too young. Overall My family and me enjoy the activities at the temple and it worth to spend time together over there.
Very nice place
Go for the food market, stay for enlightenment.
Sunday lunch here is great!

Closest.thing to a market in Thailand you could ever hope to find here. I drive from Pensacola every Sunday to pick up goodies for my family get together. All the ladies are friendly. The produce is always amazing and you will find ingredients not available and your regular markets.
The Sunday food and market 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., is wonderful with Thai ladies cooking a variety dishes in front of your eyes to your heat preference: fried bananas, green papaya salads, pad Thai, spring rolls, noodle soups, and coconut rice pancakes. The market supports the monks and the temple. The temple features a large gold Buddha welcoming visitors.
