We had a great time visiting the park. However they are at 100 capacity and do not enforce mask. Usually that is not an issue since the park itself is large and you can space out but the shows do get very crowded. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would come again but skip the shows.
Really cool place. The exhibits are kinda sad theyre so empty and dont have anything enriching in them. Id hate to be the shark that swims in circles my whole life. The touch pools are really cool. Its pretty expensive for what you see, $30 about per person but really only 20-30 min worth of stuff to look at if you dont see any shows.
Classic marine park. Older, but reasonably maintained. Unique because it is right on the beach with a nice variety of primarily outdoor exhibits. The alligator feeding was interesting - I have never seen alligators trained or interacted with before. They always seem to be depicted as primal eating machines. Though not highly intelligent, they were responding to simple feeding signals. Really fascinating. If you like observing wildlife it makes a nice excursion while on vacation.
It is still a nice place to visit for a few hours. The shows are still entertaining and informative. For those complaining about it needing an upgrade, well look how old the park is for 1 and how many hurricanes it has survived through over the years of course it has taken on ALOT of damage! Do NOT expect Sea World!! They do their best in my opinion. Could they use some enrichment, yes...would you like to donate to that or volunteer some time and actual ideas rather complain? Those would be much more helpful. If you have ever had to budget a business you may better understand how costly one is, especially one that is seasonal. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and good to the animals. The prices of admission, food and extras are what keep the place open. I am sure they are open to helpful suggestions rather than criticism that may keep people from even coming. Remember what may not be enjoyable to one person could very well end up being the best day ever for someone else that has never been anywhere! Be kind, spread positivity because it goes a long way!
This place was GREAT. We needed another option when the beaches were rough and this was perfect. The sea lions and the dolphins were fun to watch, and the other animals were too. We spent about 2.5 hours there which covered two shows and lunch (eat early while everyone is at the first dolphin show) and we saw everything at least once. And this place has been here for decades...
Always a great time. The Dolphin and Sea Lion show is fun and very informative. Kids 2 years old to 17 years old loved the whole time while there. Honestly for me family who loves it season pass is worth the money. My only grip is the cleaning staff, and the staff other than the trainers. I had ordered food and drinks because the baby was red, hot, and sticky and the oldest was hungry. Seeing a baby on my hip, no offer for a tray was mentioned, nor could I locate one. 2 drinks and 2 food items with baby on my side equalled dropped food. Not a single staff member offered help, not the first time nor the second dropping thing. Another patron stopped and asked if I needed help. The staff just walked around and ignored me. So with that thank you young lady in the green shirt, I truly appreciate you.
This place was great. Really loved the sea lion show. Tickets allow re-entry throughout the day. Food is also good and reasonably priced
Id give it 5 stars if they had strict mask enforcement like Disney World. As it was, there were some sections we couldnt go to because someone wasnt wearing a mask.
Wonderful experience to see all the animals up close. Park was not full at all which was another plus to have a better experience. Dolphin and sea loin shows were very nice! Small improvement could be the bleacher seating at the dolphin stadium. A poor elderly women fell on them as they are very narrow for sitting on.
Absolutely fantastic. Had the best time being a VIP Trainer and interacting with the animals. All of the staff were extremely knowledgeable and courteous. It is something I will remember for the rest of my life.
Wife and I enjoyed it. Took in the sea lions show. Nice display of sea creatures and others.
Super fun. Small enough to not be overwhelming and crowded but big enough to see many different animals. Great prices. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff.
We had an incredible time here. It was so much fun! Made memories worth remembering. Definitely a place to visit yearly!
The aquarium is small but very informative and clean. We really enjoyed the sea lion show and dolfin show. My 2 yr. Old grandson had a great time along with the 16 and 18 yr old children
Shows were great but as a whole, I was expecting a little more. Nice to do on a rainy/ cold day but wouldnt go out of my way to do it again
Not very crowded at all. Plenty of shade for those warm days. Several information talks about the various exhibits. Dolphin show was nice. The have a snack bar with food and drinks. Would advise bringing your own straw as drinks have no lids or straws.
If you are ABSOLUTELY bored .. you can take your kids here, but it’s not much of anything whatsoever. They had half the exhibits down (of course they don’t tell you before entering) and for $23 per adult, insane. Definitely not worth that. I always feel it’s to take care of the animals but it just seems it’s to pay the staff because the enclosures are so small and run down.I just definitely don’t think it’s worth it for a family to go and spend $100 for around 2 hours of your time.
I enjoyed the place staff is very friendly and the shows are a must watch, I seen the Sea Lion show and its very nice for the family to see.
Absolutely amazing experience!! so well built, little to no walking in between exhibits, and phenomenal shows!!
Nice place to bring the small kids. But not a lot to see. Small aquarium but great for small kids.
Good for a small aquarium. Saw everything in about 2 hours. My kids had fun and the shows were pretty funny so it was worth it imo
Went today with my wife and 4 girls (4.5 year old twins, 2 year old, and our 5 year old cousin). Dolphin and Sea Lion shows were great. Cool to see the penguins, albino alligater, sharks, otters, etc. all as part of the general admission. Great for a quick break from the beach and a very short drive from Destin. Food/Drinks at the concession were also very reasonably priced.
Not bad....but a lil on the pricey side for the small amount of activities they have here to do. Felt like I paid 200 for a dolphin show of 20 minutes...
I hope you read the reviews before you go. This place is soooo not worth! I actually regret going at all! Its very small, and you would think as much as it cost they would use that money to give the animals better enclosures. But no, they are filthy at that too. Poor animals should be set free than to be in this horrid place. It made me more sad than anything! And as far a covid..... it was so damn crowded. They said only 50% capacity at the shows and EVERY last seat was filled. People so close i could smell their breath! My kids absolutely hated the whole thing.. dont waste your time or money.
The animal shows are cool I just wish there were more animals you can get your hands on like a place where you can pet them
We were very happy to come here. We loved the dolphin show and got in on free kids weekend and got a military discount.
This place is awesome. I read some reviews about people complaining it is too small or too crowded. But I have no idea what they are talking about. This was one of our funnest experiences in Destin. They have an awesome underwater viewing area of the dolphins, a great dolphin show, but otters, penguins, sharks, gators, and so many more. My son loved holding a real starfish in the area where you can touch small sea animal life. And a little bit befor the dolphin show our son mentioned he hoped he could touch a dolphin.....i looked through our park map and saw something called the Dolphin star encounter. Went to the front desk and was told ( yes for extra cost - $30, well worth it for the experience he had) I could have him called onto the stage during the dolphin show and he could feed and pet a dolphin. He did it and just lit up with excitement. They asked him questions he fed the dolphin twice and he interacted with the dolphin trainers. The park i would say definitely isnt as large as a zoo, but is way qay bigger than your average aquarium. You just gotta go slow and really enjoy every exhibit. We went on a Wednesday at about 10:45am and it felt like we had the park to ourselves for the first two and a half hours before more people started to come....but never felt crowded so maybe early on a week day is best. Oh and the snack bar, while all we got was an ice drink, I was impressed with the prices. Back home uAt our zoos and aquariums everything is priced ridiculously high. But here they had icees in a souvenir cup for only $5. I thought everything was a decent price for what we got and am sad that the other three times Ive visited Destin we havent gone to the Gulfarium. We will be back one day.
My kids loved it here! So much fun and the animals were beautiful.
We had so much fun here! The dolphin and sea lion shows were awesome, the exhibits were great and food was reasonable.
We snagged a 2:30 deluxe dolphin experience and showed up at 1:30, that gave us enough time to see the dolphin show(2:00), do the encounter and then experience all the shows after til it closed at 4:30.The encounter although pricey was well worth it. There are a lot of exhibits and the kids enjoyed themselves.I have to be honest, at some point I was hoping these tanks were holding tanks as there is nothing in the tanks for the animals. It was a bit distracting as an adult, but my kids enjoyed it.
Great place for kids and adults. Their exhibits and shows is mainly outdoors. They do have a inside aquarium too.
I love coming here because its a great place to learn about and explore marine life. Most of the park is outdoors and offers a beautiful background of the ocean. There are lots of areas to sit quietly and view nature right in its own home.
Gulfarium is a fun Marine park with lots of wildlife! They have demonstration shows with Dolphins and sea lions and then educational talks about the other animals as well. It was a fun and easy walk through with great views. Staff was very friendly! I even enjoyed it as an adult even though lots of children were there. I thought it was well done, clean and a fun experience!
We had a good time. Took my daughter for fall break she loved petting the dolphins it was neat
I would Corporate to know that when my husband & I visited the Gulfarium on Sept. 11, 2020, it was apparent that it is not clearly communicated for the handicapped to know how & where to maneuver in your tourist attraction. The signage is not obviously visible as to those that use wheelchairs can access the shows beyond the first floor. One of your workers (I didnt get his name) spoke very rudely & disrespectfully to us as he directed us where to move. He spoke to as though he was annoyed. It really was a definite negative on our expected fun experience.
Pretty good attraction to go to, the Sea Lion and the dolphin shows make it fun
Lots of activities to do! Amazing performance by Sea Lions and Dolphins! I would highly recommend! Be prepared to spend a lot of money though if you want to do anything extra.
It was fun.. It was pricey for the experience.. But, it was fun to see the animals.. The animals looked happy and the people that worked there were real good to them.
Cool place to take the kid to see some fish and stuff. Little over priced for what’s there though. Although the dolphin show is pretty cool. So it was worth it at the end of the day.
Good place to walk around and see some marine animals. Shows are entertaining and informative. Have realistic expectations (this is not seaworld) and you will love it.
Fun, small aquarium and marine park. The staff is very knowledgeable and seeing the training/feeding sessions was a treat.
The birthday pack is not worth $300. We got cold food and an almost completely frozen birthday cake. They set up our party out in a public area where many people were walking in and out. We came here 14 years ago for my brothers birthday and it was much better than now. And believe me I know they have a private birthday room. On top of that they dont tell you the cake is an ice cream cake so even if we wanted to take it home we couldnt. The staff did not seem trained for birthday packs. They left two new staff members to run the birthday party area, but one of them who was 15 ended up running the whole thing and she was phenomenal even with little to no experience. The staff was mostly friendly having the occasional staff member who was not so happy. The trainers were also phenomenal. They were amazing and very friendly. It seems that the management is what is truly lacking. When we first entered they had taken my sisters picture as per the birthday party pack and somehow in the span of 6 hours the sd card had disintegrated destroying all the pictures. Instead of giving us a discount or anything of the sort they told us we could redo them or come back tomorrow. My sister is 6 and tired there was no way she would stay still for a picture now and we were leaving the next day so we couldnt come back. Id also like to say that a lot of the fishs tanks were unclean, which would lead to hurting the fish. Anyway DO NOT waste your money on the birthday pack it is not worth your money.
Awesome aquarium! very recomendable. If you’re around the area visit you will not be disappointed.
Enjoyed most of the day until one of the staff members was just really rude. Was going to get something from the gift shop as well but just ended up leaving after that lady had a rotten attitude. Not sure Ill return.
Such an amazing time. Plenty of family friendly activities. Worth the ticket price. Absolutely a great experience!
Awesome experience. Fun for kids and adults. Its a great way to get in your steps as well while enjoying great views on the beach.
People can hang out with a dolphin for about 30 mins. No swimming, but its a great experience.
Comparing this to the one I went to in Texas which was really good. I believe this park could use some minor improvements and be a lot better but it wasnt bad I enjoyed myself.
The park had many different exhibits, and all of them were interesting and educational. My favorite part of the experience was the dolphin show, make sure to visit at a time when you can witness it for yourself!
Great place to take the family. Kids will enjoy and so will the parents! Very educational as well.
Love the Gulfarium! The marine life is always great to experience. My sons favorite part was the shark in the aquarium. We missed the dolphin show but the sea lion show was awesome. They are so cute and so entertaining. Awesome job!!
My best friend and I did the sting ray swim last year and it was amazing they took so many great pictures (which we got digitally) we got to feed the sting rays, pet them and swim with them and also many fish and baby sharks! It was so amazing I took my boyfriend a few days ago bc he’s never done anything like that before. And well it sucked there were like 4 sting rays and A ... one sleeping baby shark. We hardly got to touch them as they swam by and we didn’t get to feed them because “carona”. It sucked I paid $140 to swim in a pool for 30 min and get a free towel, no pictures at all.
I loved it and encouraged everyone to go.
Fun place to spend the day with my daughter. Enjoyed the shows and chats.
This place was great! I took my daughter and nephew on the last day of our vacation. They really enjoyed the shows and the awesome sites of different animals. I must say I enjoyed myself as well. We went around noon and was able to catch all of the shows and animal chats.
My husband & I stopped by last year & the dolphin show was spectacular. This year we brought his mother, because we had told her & showed her videos & pictures. This time it was not good at all. The dolphin show lasted about 15 minutes, that didn’t do anything g except swim back & forth. The trainers didn’t even get in the water with them. We were very very disappointed!!
Though I had an amazing time interacting with a dolphin and being able to touch it. Paying almost $500 dollars for 2 people was excessive. (admission, dolphin encounter, and then having to pay 75 dollars to see our pictures digitally) which by the way there were 2...2!!!!, that had pictures of us actually with the dolphin. The pictures should be included with the package. On top of that, smallest aquarium I have ever been to and probably will ever go to. This was my first time to Florida and this was the only thing that disappointed me. QUIT CHARGING SO MUCH, NOT WORTH IT!
80 and cloudy and it was awesome, set up was cool, had show after show with time to explore in between. Concessions are very affordable compared to similar places, gift shop was cool too, had a great time and will come back when I go to Destin!
Lots of fun for the kids. Wish there were more fishes to look at but there are lots of outdoor large animal exhibits.
Great experience. Loved the close experience and the enclosed encounters with dolphins. My 6 yo enjoyed it very much. Staff was professional & nice.Gave 4 out of 5 because when we got pictures which is under a different company DEI, the manager so she said was rude, horrible customer service, pictures not good at all of our experience, and was talking rudely about customer in front of us while we were waiting.
Loved the dolphin show! We all enjoyed it so much and the aquarium all together is a good time and experience for the kids
Was my husband bday weekend. Enjoyed dolphin show! Spend the money family friendly.
Was better than anticipated. Its small, but the shows were entertaining. My daughters will most likely do an encounter next time we visit.
Loved it! My hubby and sister and I went and had a blast! Our favorite was the dolphin show!
If you are making a reservation for anything, take it with a grain on salt. We have made two reservations with the park. The first reservation we made we were bumped to another day because they wanted to accommodate a larger reservation even though we had reserved our party first. The second reservation was canceled on us the day prior to our event so we had no time to schedule anything else. Very poor customer service in this respect.
Enjoyed the sea lion and dolphin shows. Cool place to visit. Only attraction we. Have seen where you didnt have to pay to leave the parking lot.
Very good place for the children i had fun as an adult so that lets u know its nice all workers were great and friendly
Very cool place to take the kids. We watched a couple of the animal shows, had a bite to eat checked out all the exhibits. Great souvenir shop.
Small but a good place to take smaller kids.
Waited 34 years for the opportunity of a lifetime and I gotta say I was blown away beyond my wildest dreams. Amazing experience! Family friendly place. Great staff! Clean! This is a place everyone should visit at least once. I went twice
This was a very good aquarium. Small amount of space but they were able to fit a good amount in those spaces. There were plenty of shows to watch. Not very much staff seen, most were in shows.
Had a great experience here. Only giving it a four star rating because five-star entertainment is hard to achieve.
Girls, 4 & 5 totally had a blast. Unfortunately, no sting rays to pet & feed and of course wanted to pet everything else. Fantastic day.
Great experience. Fun show and knowledgeable staff. Fun for kids and adults alike. Also have experiences that you can take part in; like swimming with stingrays in the tank. Really want to come back and do that one with the kids. Reasonably priced too.
Great place for the kids informative and fun for adults as well
Nice place to visit with family, you will get to know underwater species more and more
Had great time ! Loved all of the exhibits and shows, I would definitely come back!
I just feel bad that the animals are trapped in confined spaces when the ocean is 300 feet away. They all appear healthy I just wish there was a better way to enjoy these creatures other than behind glass. Maybe there needs to be in aquarium where is built into the ocean and we can see animals in their natural habitats.
My granddaughter loves Gulfarium she is 4 and weve had season passes for 3 years. Of course the stufgies before we leave.
This was our first visit. We were very impressed had so much fun and will be back
If your a sea loving individual and in the Florida area...i definitely recommend it as a fun way to spend a day or take your special someone on a date.
Love how they have redone the place from years ago. Our family had a blast ! Definitely for all ages to enjoy !
Lots of fun. The girls ages 9 and 11 enjoyed our visit.
Our family had so much fun here. We will definitely visit again.
Pretty awesome place and the experience is worth the money. We enjoyed it on a day while it was raining but with all the awnings and shelters it was decently covered and we didnt get very wet. The kids loved the sea lion show, the dolphin show is pretty much all other dolphin shows, plenty to do for about 2 hours worth of fun.
Great family fun for all. I had a blast with my son here. It was so educational and the staff and atmosphere is wonderful. Cant wait to come back again. Highly recommended.
Loved the aquarium, very clean and friendly staff. I do not recommend the food, it was not good at all and a waste of our money.
Amazing time and knowledge of the animals and there living habbits
This place is bigger than it looks and its just awesome! Cant go wrong with a visit here! Extremely kid friendly and a great place for kids to learn and see some awesome animals! They have great and friendly staff too!
I love the dolphins so cute.
Would not recommend spending the $23 it takes per person. The animals looked/acted miserable. The exhibits were poorly maintained.
We loved visiting the Gulfarium! My daughter were so impressed by the shows. I would definitely recommend visiting. With or with out children it is a great way to get out of the sun for a few hours.
It was OK. Small aquatic park featuring Bottlenose Porpoise a d California Sea Lion shows. I liked the aSea Lion show.
We enjoyed all the exhibits and the dolphin and sea lion shows. Park, to include enclosures are very clean, and staff informative and friendly. Weather permitting, we try to go Wednesdays, when seniors get very reduced entrance.
First time here & it was awesome . highly recommend Great place for the whole family !
