Came for the tennis courts which are free. There are 4 hard courts in very decent shape. However, the lights for night play are not great with many bulbs missing and there is generally a wait to play in the evenings.

I had a great time today at Florence C Hardy Southside Park with friends and family. There were a plenty families there today. I believe the City of Fort Lauderdale host and event at this location, with music provided by the City. The park is very nice, picnic tables, nice playground area for the kids. The Park also has ample lighting, conveniently located restrooms. We purchased seafood from a local restaurant but also wanted a place where the kids could run around a bit.

We are visiting Ft. Lauderdale and this park was located close to the Embassy Suites. I love, love, loved this park. There were shaded structures covering both playgrounds which allows the kids to play under the shade even on the hottest Florida days. Both playgrounds had fun obstacles and slides and were toddler friendly. There were also swings to include an ADA swing, baby and regular swings. Other amenities included an open field with soccer goals, tennis courts, benches, beautiful landscape, a booksharing library, bike rack, recycle bin, workout station, information station and a clean restroom facility. I would highly recommend this playground.

Very large and spacious field for pretty much anything. They have a tennis court and a playground area. Its very peaceful and quiet.

This is definitely a nice and safe neighborhood park. I love that it is right by the train track. Sometimes I would come here to study on the picnic tables and take quick breaks just to watch the train pass. Ever since FLL released the no horns law, the trains do not create a disturbance at all. I also run on the trail that surrounds the park. I do this early in the mornings when its still dark out and just use my headlamp. I have never ever felt unsafe. There are indeed a couple of homeless people that hang around but they are harmless and are mostly just resting or sleeping. In addition, there are usually 2 or 3 police cars in the parking lot. I think thats their meetup spot... they are usually there until 6am. That ensures safety as well. I will miss this little park once I move.

Well maintained park with shade, this is Florida so they get extra points for that! Parking can be tight if they have events on the field nearby. I really like that Ive seen security there not all the time but more than Ive seen at other Ft Lauderdale parks.

The park is very nice. Well situated in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Large covered playground for the kids with picnic tables under awning. Large football/soccer field with seating to watch game. Walking trail around park with exercise equipment available. Parking is adequate with lots of handicapped spots. Park has tennis courts and is on same grounds as the cultural center. Has public restrooms near playground and a free mini library. Very nice park.

The kids part of the park is closed while the other part of the entire park is open.

This is my daughters favorite park, 3 year old. The park has everything you need and everything that children can play on. One of the best parts about the park is that the vast majority of the jungle gym is covered and in the shade. The railroad isnt to far away and is visible across the field, younger kids really enjoy watching it go by. There is a bathroom.

Great playgrounds with clean, well equipped facilities!

No place for family and friends to just go and hang out and relax. if youre lucky the about youth soccer game going or group of people get together and play soccer always something going on most nights. Afternoons are pretty laid back.

Great park. Appreciate the shade. A serious homeless problem. They dont bother you but definitely makes me keep a closer eye on the kids.

This park is great! The play area is covered with the exception of the swings. It is very spacious with two separate activity/slide areas one for smaller children and the other for elementary to middle school aged children. There is also a nice size pavilion in the middle of both play areas making it easier for parents to keep an eye on their children. Additionally there is a sidewalk path on the perimeter that completely encircles the area (great for walking exercise or bikes for small children). I was able to enjoy playing with my granddaughter without being exposed directly to the sun for which I was most grateful.

This is an awesome park. This park is one of my favorite spots to bring the kids out to play. You also can have birthday parties, social event, and a baby shower (this is where I had my first baby shower). You can rent the pavilion for just ONLY $75 that is a price you just cant beat!! This park has lights, a soccer field, a tennis court and also a trail to run, walk, or just exercise. Only thing I wish it had was a community pool, and a basketball court. Overall very neat playground.

Great place for the kids. There is a play ground for both young and older. Plenty of different climbing equipment that is fun for adults too. Swings for all ages. Plenty of spongy artificial turf and mulch. No sand. Bathrooms are available. There is a pavilion area for parties. Exercise equipment and a soccer field are available. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there is an occasional homeless person there. Not at every visit. Just every now and then. A great place for the family. I highly recommend trying it.

Best Maze. Its one of the best covered toddler playground Ive scene. Lots of swings including disabled swings. And also the jungle gym for toddlers is low enough to the ground for you to keep up as you run behind them. One of the best features also is large bathroom with changing table and several stalls.

Love the location. The park is suitable for anyone. Big playground for any age kid. Bathrooms are near the playground and very accessible to the whole park. Has a field and a section for fitness workouts.

Huge play area. My daughter never got bored. Great soccer field. My son loved it. Right next to train tracks. As stated by others, there were a few homeless people loitering. Felt slightly unsafe.

Park rangers need to walk around this park more often. Adults smoking pot right in gazebo, next to playground. Had to leave with child, smoke was covering playground area. Unacceptable.

This was my first visit here. Its a nice spacious playground that offers bathroom facilities. It also has soccer fields. Its in close proximity to restaurants and a publix store is nearby.

May not be a very big playground for kids to play in but I just like the fact there is a little workout area, large field to run around in with nearby bathroom, picnic tables, and water fountains.

Very nice park. 4 tennis hard courts, soccer and ball fields, running track, workout equipment, kids play area, cultural arts center, and its all lighted to 9pm. Theres restrooms and drinking fountains. Its across SW 7th St. from the Hardy Park Bistro restaurant, and one block from Publix (for tennis balls and sports drinks).

Beautiful park in a beautiful location. Family oriented with two covered playground areas, one for younger children, the other for older ones. There is also a large soccer field with a trail around the perimeter for walking. It would get five stars if I wasnt repeatedly told by other patrons that their cars were broken into or stolen.

Nice place to take the kids on weekends, very clean and yes that even includes the bathrooms. Bring cold water with you specially in a hot day, water fountains have fresh water but it may not be enough for kids running around.

Park is awesome huge playground for kids excellent workout area lots of space to do laps excellent soccer football field decent parking and right next door to the Cultural Arts Center the old downtown school building right near the tennis courts and Hardy Park bistro excellent area.

This park is always fun for my daughter. The equipment is new and clean. There are separate areas for bigger and smaller kids. The tennis courts and large baseball/soccer field are also well maintained.

We play pick-up soccer most fridays at the croquet field. Park has decent ammenities and new dedicated parking. Fun for kids and adults.

This is a nice clean park near downtown. It has two shaded play areas with swings and slides. The picnic area is also shaded for our hot days in Florida. It has picnic tables and bathrooms.It also has an area if you want to workout.

This park had so many upgrades my kids love it and now it have adult fitness. The city is investing in what a matters (our citizen).

This park one of the biggest playgrounds Ive ever seen! It also has a rather large cover/canopy but depending on the direction of the sun, it may not be 100% effective (same goes for rain). There are bathrooms available and theres a soccer field with goals sometimes on the field. Just a heads up...there is always some sort of homeless person presence.

It has two large covered playgrounds but theyre also very filthy. Everything is covered in a layer of dirt. The place also has fleas!
