This is definitely a nice path just off the main road either going near Loveland or Fort Collins. The first part of the trail is gravel and wide but once you get up to the bathrooms which are a mile away it increases in difficulty. Goes down to a normal trail but encounters loose rock gravel sand large step up/down. The views are amazing but I have heard on the weekends it can get very very busy.

This can be a busy trail on the weekend so get there early. Smooth, wide trail to the cabin and interpretative trail. Trail narrows after this and becomes more work. Switchbacks mean some good climbs to the summit.

Even though the parking lot is sometimes packed, Ive never felt like the tail is too busy. Coyote Ridge has some great wildlife and pretty views. Beware of rattlesnakes and parking lot break-ins. This is not a place to leave valuables in your car.

Great place for a family hike. Nice place to ride mountain bikes too.

This is a great short hike, limited parking though. Great bike or hike for about a hour. There is a bathroom on trail but no water so bring some. The trail goes all the way to the end of the devils backbone if you feel like going that far. It also has a nature trail and a center where guides tell you whats up in thw area. There are snakes because there are lots of rocks and they love those to hide under so be carefull.

Nice run except the last bit up to the top is so rocky that you have to go slow up and down for fear of tripping.

This is a great spot for a “mini” hike or trail run. It is about 2 miles to the top. Excellent views when you get up there. If you like to ride horses this is a good trail for horses. Things to keep in mind are that Dogs are NOT allowed AT ALL so plan ahead. There is a decent bathroom at about 1.5 miles that makes the trail a good one for kids.

Beautiful area! Nice for a quick jog or longer hike if you have time. Be careful of evening critters & rattlers. We went around 6:00pm and saw a rattle snake on the side of the trail.

Watch out for prairie dogs! Seems like a great place to train and run but for a tourist spot, not a must stop place when there are some great hiking trails near by

Great place to do some easier trails so highly recommend for anyone that is beginning. Love the views and the cabin is a nice place to sit and rest up to just to enjoy the beautiful sights. Just a warning dogs are not allowed on the path though so be prepared for to leave your baby at home.

Nice place for a hike, run or mountain biking. The City has improved the trail in this past year, but be prepared for a very rocky section on the way to the top. The road before the single track is suitable for strollers, after the cabin and restroom, not.

A nicely maintained trail, theres an outhouse about a mile in. After that, its switchbacks for another mile until you get to the top of Coyote Ridge. There youll have a lovely view to the west of a valley, more foothills and the Rocky Mountains beyond. A pleasant couple of hours if you can do the hill climbing.

Slight lack of parking during busy times, but the trail up and down the foothills offers some stunning views when you reach he top of the ridge. Great for a hike or trail run, just be prepared for the rocks all over the trail once you begin your ascent.

Keep your valuables out of your vehicle. There have been several vehicular burglaries in the parking lot. This is a pleasant quick hike to the ridge. The trail continues down the other side and loops through the beautiful valley over the ridge. Few folks travel down the other side. This is a fun mtn bike ride.

On the top of the ridge I could see for over 200 miles on Christmas day. From the Rawhide power plant to the north all the way to CO Springs. I love how close it is yet how remote you can feel. I usually run into more deer than people.

Short hike with easy terrain and a fair incline for a bit. Its a very adaptable trail. If you need a longer hike, it connects to the Devils Backbone trail west of Loveland. Its also a great trail for beginner trail runners (like me). Its pretty heavily trafficked especially on weekends.

Coyote Ridge Natural Area is a nice place for a hike in the cooler months of the year. The first mile of the trail is on a dirt road and is relatively flat, making it a great place for families with young children. There is a very active prairie dog colony about a half mile from the trailhead. Due to its proximity to south Fort Collins and north Loveland and being right next to a paved road, the parking lot often is quite full. There is a pit toilet about 1 mile from the trailhead. The second mile of a trail ascends a gentle inclined to the top of the second ridge, rewarding you with spectacular views of the Rocky mountains to the west.

Ro
Review №60

This place is an awesome hike for beginners and veterans alike, has trails for walking and separate trails for biking and horseback riding. The only draw back is that on some sections of the trail, bikers and walkers have to share, but its a minimal issue as long as you are aware of your surroundings. It is a very popular trail as well, so some times i would imagine the parking area could potentially fill up. Nonetheless, go ahead and give it a try, for up at the peak is a rewarding and beautiful scenic view!

This is an Awesome place for a hike...it is especially nice in the evening. Animals, cool plants, and insects, a cabin you can walk back to, and even rock with fossils as this area used to be under the ocean. One of my absolute favorites nearby. Easy to begin and then intermediate. Eventually meets up with trail that will take you to Devils Backbone or Horsetooth.
