Its so relaxing listening to the water softly hit the shore. Perfect for a quiet place to take in natures beauty.

Awesome little beach front space. Really good to check out during low tide for exploring. High tide its a great spot to launch kayaks or SUP. Last trip there we saw bald eagles, osprey, and another very large eagle, not sure what it was.

I absolutely LOVE this place! Its my little hidden spot. Tucked away off Dash Point in a small residential community theres a parking lot off to the right you might miss if you dont know what youre looking for, leading down to a quite secluded cove. Perfect for dates, family get togethers or just hanging out in general. #1 place in Federal Way thus far.

I recommend this beach for families with children as there are MANY things to do:Swimming: The water is VERY shallow it only goes about 3 feet deep for at least 2-3 miles out so kids can go swimming here, and it is warmer than Lighthouse park, or Dash Point ( other nearby beaches )Lots of seaweed, sand dollars and sometimes little pools but they are all harmless and fun! :DShell collecting: There are a lot of different shells to collect, i recommend coming here at the break of dawn as the shells get taken pretty quick. :)WIldlife: There are lots of birds, fish and other sea creatures here to view, be sure to bring some binoculars to make it better :DTide: the tide sometimes goes out VERY FAR so great place to walk out pretty far when it is out enoughWalking distance: about half a mile or less, gravel walkway in some woods nice and peacefulSize: it is on the smaller side but the ampel swimming space, the wide tide changing and the little walking trail make up for it.overall i recommend you come here if you are looking for a great beach to swim at, view the sunrise, sunset or just admire nature! :D

Only about 12 parking spaces, nice beach but no amenities like picnic tables. Wait for a low tide, otherwise your space to walk is very limited.

A bit of a walk from parking area to the beach but well worth it. My daughter, her kids, my nephew and my daughters bestie enjoy it here.

Great little beach to explore. Easy walk down with slight grade increase back to parking area. Tide was really far out today which made for a great walk down to the shoreline.

Very easy wide short trail down to the water with benches along the way. Id say even accessible for wheelchairs. Small rocky beach with lots of logs for sitting or kids to run across. At low tide is best, that way you can wade out into the sound.

Clean, calm and peacefull... Except when the birds get all excited.lol. When the tides are out, this place is a great place to bring the family for an outing, play in the sand, beachcomb etc. Lots of wildlife and natural beauty. Even when the tides are not out, this place is awesome. I would highly recommend to others.

No birds anywhere; the landscape was barren on publicly accessible terrain. However, several pelicans flocked on private property area near the ocean shores where public trespassing was strictly prohibited. This may have been poetic justice or hibernation . Still an interesting place .

This place did not fill any of my expectations. While looking at the review I thought it would be a nice place so me and my family decided to take a look. And there was no one there, there were no places to picnic no picnic tables and you couldnt take a swim because the water was disgusting. We actually saw some people that were coming back from the beach and even they looked pretty bummed I would not recommend this beach at all.

Dumas Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is a Saltwater Marsh and Estuary set aside to help in the recovery of the Great Blue Heron, North Americas Largest Tree Nesting Bird. The location is largely unimproved, though a single wide, level trail leads from a Small paved parking lot down to the only Public Beach owned by the City of Federal Way.At low tide, this location becomes a huge sandy basin which is fun for beach combers however the site is closed to all shell fish harvesting and removal as it is a Wildlife Sanctuary. This spot also features a few birdwatching benches along the path and a small meadow area for picnicing.

Small but ample parking lot reached by looking for the sign on Dash Point Road (509) at 44 Ave. SW turn west and in less than 1/4 mile on right park here. There is a nice wide slight downhill shady path about 600 ft leading past lots of large trees and under brush down to the beach. Once you hit the beach area it opens up to magnificent views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mts. when it is clear of course. There is massive wetland area where Great Blue Herons and lots of other birds congregate and nest in season. Very clean and secluded. Not much human traffic here but good for boat watching and bird watching. Great place to enjoy the quiet surroundings!
