Not a lot of parking next to the lake, but a big lot on the backside. Kinda shady in some areas of the park. Loved the wildlife!

The park is gorgeous. Lots of families having a blast. The lake water was warm. And I saw a high quality Shakespeare play. It was an awesome experience and Im excited to go back.

As a park, absolutely beautiful! A great lake to swim in, wonderful play area Id estimate suiting 2—8 yr olds. Only reason I took a star off was to grab attention of potential hikers? Obviously its not advertised as a trail, but usually theres some kind of loop/walk you can take to talk with your friend, but be aware that this park doesnt have one. Just a warning if you were looking for a place to take a run through—this might not be it.

Nice park to go and spend the day solo or with family and friends. Lake is pretty it has lots of parking and located right off the freeway. Lots of stuff to do large play area for the kids, public fishing dock and basketball ball area. I wish you could actually walk around the lake but that’s not an option. Lots of grass and shade. I really wouldn’t suggest bringing your dog unless your just walking through

Pretty large park with boat launch, picnicking areas, lake front with a man made beach.

Place is great for kids swings, sand, play ground, open grass far from parking lot, bathrooms, and a little fishing spot off to the side. CONS bathrooms are nasty, lake I feel isnt swimmable unless you have multiple types of shots, and some days the excessive bird poop lol... But I bring my kids here a lot because the trees and water make it cool.

Excellent park for young n old. Lots of picnic areas n grass, lots of people fishing in the lake on the docks, and the playground is amazing!! Lots of slides n even ramps for wheelchairs to come into certain parts. Swings, sidewalk stations with brail for the blind n sounds to listen to. Tons of fun for everyone

Fabulous playground area, with lots of murals, right by the lake. Enough sand on the lake beach to build sand castle! How fun. Covered eating areas, swings, and big grass area too.

We had so much fun in this Place. So much to do, very nice and clean.

Sat and ate dinner in the car overlooking the water at sunset. Park is kept clean, definitely a local community park. There was fishing, play area for the kids, and a nice little water front to dip your toes in.

Great park in Federal way. Lots of open space. Play equipment for kids. And a nice long dock and boat ramp for fishing.Added bonus if you like watching planes. This is a good place to watch planes from SeaTac airport fly over head.

It gets pretty crowded. Not family friendly as it used to be. Nice spot to fish. We went SUP recently and the kids got swimmers itch....

Nice lakefront park with fishing pier, picnic tables and a childrens play area. There is also a picnic shelter for reserved large gatherings in non-COVID times. Large parking lot at the south end of the park. The park has a basketball and volleyball area, as well. A public boat launch has been provided for kayakers and small boat enthusiasts, touring or fishing.

Nice small local park with plenty of parkings. Big playground for kids. Has boat launching dock. The lake is perfect for kayaking and swimming. Also good for BBQing and hanging out.

Beautiful park whether its sunny or cloudy. Plenty of picnic areas and a decent sized fishing dock with enough room for your chair, tackle box, and cooler and still have room behind you for people to get around

My kids and i come here all the time. Its clean AtM the restrooms are closed. My kids age from 1 to 7 they all have something to burn energy on. Volkey ball area lots of parking.

This playground is the king of playground! It is so big and not at all your typical structure. Lots of new and interesting things to walk across, hang on, crawl through. Lots of potential for imaginary play. Both regular and baby swings. Best for probably 2+. Very small area for younger babies. Huge grassy areas for picnics, running, ball play. Lots of picnic tables. Brown Sandy beach leads to lake. Some shaded/wood grassy areas.

Nice little dock to fish from, little ramp to launch from, little parking lot ...you seeing a theme here? Yeah, the little restroom is alright. It sure beats using napkins outta your glove box and a trip into the trees! The park its self isnt something Id care to rave about, but its not bad. In fact its really quite nice. Just a nice little park all in all.

As of 8/14/2020 it is closed due to Covid-19. Very disappointing to drive there with excited kids only to see the big closed sign with the park blocked off

This is a great park. The playground is amazing, and very safe other than the merry go round.In the summers, once school is out they usually have music in the park Wednesday evenings. Its a great place to take the family, a blanket, and have a picnic.They have BBQs and gazebos that can be rented. There were basketball hoops near the exit as well as a sand volleyball court near the exit. There is also a giant grass field for soccer, foThere is beach access (real sand), a dock, and a boat launch (non motorized).Lots of parking, but HIDE YOUR VALUABLES AND LOCK YOUR CAR! It is still Federal Way. This place can get a little ghetto.. especially near the upper end of the upper lot.In the summer months they also have a concession stand.And... Clean Bathrooms!

Great place for family time! They have both water AND a huuuge playground all next to each other with bbq pits all around. Kids absolutely love it. Water not too deep so makes me feel safe when kids our out playing in water. Great place.

The park and swimming aspect is good. The dock fishing is alright

For fishing it is ok, you can normally get at least 1 fish or more. You get bites but not guaranteed a catch. I would say it is good for family fishing.

This is a great Park. It has a fabulous playground, a nice beach, grassy area, picking tables, a covered area, and walking trails. It has one of the best playgrounds around.

One of the largest playgrounds around with some unique features. Dont go when wet... I found a gnarly screw poking out in a corner, no tool to fix it or I wouldve.

Wouldve given it 5 stars but 2 of the 3 slides are damaged and blocked off. Made the playground less entertaining but overall a great park for kids!

Open 24 hours (scamdemic wont phase them) awesome selection of international foods for whenever I want to make Pad Thai at 2 in the morning I got older and they have all the ingredients usually for any crazy idea I have and crazy good prices on many things. Your dollar will stretch far at this place. Hispanic, Asian, American, meat, Deli,fruits and veggies.Pharmacy. This place saved my butt a few times when I had a fever and everyone else was closed at 1 in the morning and whoever was open didnt have what I needed but this place always has Theraflu seems like!

Great little park. Nice large play area for the kids, a beach, and plenty of space to run around and hold events. Can be very busy so plan accordingly or prepare for lots of people.

A great place for family reunions... a huge playground, swim area, vendors and suites stores you can reserve with picnic tables and barbecues provided! Parking gets a little crazy, but just be patient and ignore the rude persistence ogf those trying to tell you you are not leaving fast enough. The lake has sandy beaches and the park has huge trees. Good photo ops!!

Squirrels were a bit aggressive and lots of duck waste on the beach.

It was lots of fun for the kids. There was a concession stand near the park for ice cream, hot food and beverages. There is a big field to play in as well. The water made for a nice scenery though i would not swim in it, too many reviews on people getting swimmer itch. This is a great place to go for a family outting or family get together.

A very large grassy area lots of parking, a dock you can fish from, a good sized swim beach as well as a roped off swimming area. A boat launch. Big play area, BBQ grills a large shelter you can reserve lots of picnic tables, and on nice summer weekends, LOTS of people. All on a pretty good sized lake. Several free concerts there. Also the Kiwanis Salmon Feed fundraiser is held there. A nice park that I should go more often, but I always seem to forget about. Maybe because all of my kids are grown and live in other cities.

Walking around the lake and looking at the ducks is a lot of fun. The play structure and park itself is especially enjoyable, especially with the super soft and bouncy surface that they put in. We also love the pirate theme and all of the different nautical structures. This is a fantastic Park to take the whole family too, plus there are lots of areas to grill at and have a big family barbecue. No better Park in Federal Way!

Love the lake and picnic areas! Has baby swings that not all parks have. Wish the rest of the playground equipment was maintained a little better.

I love this place. It’s quiet and serene on a non-weekend day. During the weekend on a hot summer day you can find a swarm of children on the beach or on the massive play set. So depending on your flavor make sure to pick the day you go.

I love steel lake!!!! Great place to take small children year round!! Huge play ground! Lots of places to go exploring! Fun place to fish! Good place for birthday parties, easy to make reservation, great place for picnics, family gatherings! I have always loved this park since i was a little girl!!!!

Perfect skatepark for all levels really. Some odd transitions but after a couple try’s, relatively easy to pick up. Sometime busy but not often.

Really cool family oriented place good for the kids to play if they dont want to swim in the lake. They have a huge playground for the kids to just get lost for hours and the parents to just chill while the kids just have fun. Although I think they could upgrade the bathrooms and put in some showers so people can rinse off after they swim in the lake. Will definitely visit again and Barbecue with the family.

Even though it was overcrowded and the library was full of pamphlets the place was well kept and the people were friendly.

Great park for family functions n more..just trash everywhere even people left diapers on the grass smh..only if people help out to keep the park clean it would be perfect.

I love that this park has so many different ways for kids to have a good time. Its clean, family friendly, bathroom on sight and snack store. :)

This is my new favorite park. Theres something for everyone here. The park is well maintained. The playground is amazing. I have a 7 and 6 year old who love this play area. There are other picnic tables to use other then the reservation sites. The bathroom is down by the swimming area of the lake. Be aware that kids are running up from the lake to use the bathroom. Floor will most likely be wet and gritty from the sand. You can fish here, and use none motorized boats on the water. Never seen any homeless loitering around or signs that they are camping out here.

Come here for parties mostly, but they have an amazing playground! And the beach and dock area are very nice. This place can get very crowded, so arrive early if you want a good spot to hang for the day.

The play ground with beach n seasonal swimming lake. theres similar style of park in maple valley but I prefer this one.

Absolutely massive park. Loads of space to picnic, toss/kick a ball around, and several grilling stations. The playground is huge and generally maintained quite well. Theres a small beach on the lake thats always fairly clean. Great spot for kiddos and all manner of activities, but can get a bit crowded on nice weekends.

Great huge playground for the kids and bea scenery. Pretty large park with plenty of space for fun, food, and hanging out. Shelter #1 is the largest shelter adjacent to the playground. Lots of tables for a large gathering and available for rent through the city.

Great park, with a fantastic playground, swimming area, dock, and areas for picnics. If you want to swim, arrive earlier in the day as the swimming area in the shade later in the afternoon

Awesome place to fish when it’s open. Plenty of parking and plenty of picnic area. Great for family time. Friendly family friendly. No issue or violence so far based on my experience.
