Nice small park to walk around. Several areas of shade to hide from the sun. Dog friendly here and spread out so you should not encounter too many people. Historical landmarks to discover and photograph. There is some curb side parking if you only want to pop in quickly and its located on Monument Drive across from the shopping center. There is a small parking lot located on West Ox road with disabled spaces marked. Signs posted prior to the turn.
This is a terrific little park with a short but lovely interpretive trail with very helpful and poetically written interpretive signs. The Battle of Ox Hill is where Union Generals Stevens and Kearny fell, and the signage well conveys the drama and tragedy of the battle. It takes only about 15 to 20 minutes to complete the trail, and is well worth the effort. You’ll learn a lot in a short time and may feel thoughtful and moved when you’ve done it.
A nuce small battlefield. Interesting facts on plaquards. Nice loop to walk around too.
Its usually a very quiet little park. Only downside is that there is almost no parking spots. But its cute.
Great place to learn a little history while walking my dog
I regularly take walks here with my son, it’s a short but sweet walk!
Great little walk. Historic and nicely documented.
Small park. Tells the history of the battle that was fought there.
If you have visited Manassas Battlefield and were interested in what happened after the 2nd battle, Ox Hill is worth a stop. Learn what happened to some of the retreating Union Army.
Very interesting park that educates about the battle of Chantilly
Nice little park with some history. There is parking on site and walked my dog with the warm weather lately. It is a little hidden, but isn’t hard to find.
A Fairfax county gem. If you like Civil War history and are local its a cant miss. Looking at the park you feel transported back 150+ yrs. Quintessential mid-atlantic forested vegetation surrounding a wheelchair and stroller accessible loop with historical markers. Parking available. Near a wonderful deli (Chutzpas) and stores. Cant miss for locals!
Fantastic little park with tons of history packed into a small area. Very informative signage and a short walking path takes visitors on a journey back in time to an important Civil War battle. My kids, dog, and senior parents all enjoyed visiting this park. If you need bathrooms or refreshment, cross the street to the strip mall and find many restaurants and other vendors.
I was In Va watching my grand animals, a lovely area. A lot of history close by. Ox Hill battlefield has some great history! Check it out you won’t regret it!
Very cozy area to sit and think about the Battlefield. I was kind surprise that the are was not clean and no fresh flowers for those deserve
Small park with a lot of information signs about the battle.
Outstanding battlefield park with superior signage to describe the battle. Great place for a short walk(brick paved walk) by yourself or with your dog. Civil War buffs will highly enjoy the battlefield descriptions.
Great place to walk, and play Pokémon Go.
Nice little neighborhood park for jogging or walking. Very relaxing due to the greenery
Not very well maintained. Very small, but that is what makes it worth a look. A quick stop will definitely be a memory!
Good place for your children history educational.
Excellent place if you enjoy civil war history
This is a little park with a tremendous history behind it. It is well with your time to stop and take a walk through this park to read each of the small signs describing the events that took place here. This is a must stop if you are civil war buff and a great place to start your civil war discoveries.
Good walking path, added history, shady at parts. Parking lot isnt very large though.
Lots of history, landmarks and visuals. Short serene trail with relaxing sitting areas.
Really small l, but a good location to go get pokemon. There is very little to any parking
Very tiny but lots of info provided about the historical events that occurred there. Limited parking - only 5 or 6 places. Seems to be mainly used as a community park by the surrounding neighborhoods.
The park is quite lovely. There are several plaques which explain what happened. There is a paved path in a loop. It is not very long, and I believe it makes the park accessible. There are no restrooms.
A great place to sit and contemplate life!
Nice little park. Short black top path, lots of info on the history of the area
The park is beautiful. There are, however, no amenities. No restrooms, no water fountain. However, there is a lot of shade.Really, I would never have guessed a battle was fought in that area. It is an island of tranquility in a city. Green grass, mature trees, squirrels and rabbits and birds. Very lovely.I visit for the Poké Stops and Poké Gyms (2 on the property). The trail is accessible and not too long. I highly recommend a visit. Parking is limited to 5 regular stalls and 1 handicapped stall.
Good for a very short walk and spin a bunch of Pokestops and two gym. I took my son in his wheelchair and, except the uphill run, it was fine.
Great place to just walk or sit with family and friends and your dog! Walking path around entire park. Always well kept.
This was a very nice historical park, including plaques and a memorial site. My kids learned a lot of local history here. There is a small parking lot, and a circular path. We spent about 45 minutes here.
This was a very minor battle, mostly an afterthought of Bull Run, but one biggest battles in noVA during the Civil war. The park itself occupies about 15-20% of the original battlefield, but allows for a good look of the terrain. There is a 1/2 mile or so track that surrounds the park allowing for the visitor to read through nine different placards that describe the unfolding battle of Ox Hill and some of the main characters. There is a small parking area at the bottom/entrance of the park as well as three miniature pavilions with more placards.
Nice little walking park and has some interesting Civil War facts posted around the park
Great place to walk with a lot of history. Shaded in the summer and safe
Small piece of history. Worth the visit. Small park. Only takes a few minutes to walk but a lot of history. No restrooms
This park is a remnant of a much larger civil war battlefield, which has been diminished in size by urban encroachment. There is a small parking lot (7 stalls), interpretive signs along a walking trail, an outdoor covered historical center where you can learn more about the Battle of Ox Hill (Battle of Chantilly) and memorial stones for each of the two Union Generals who lost their lives here.
Nice grassy little historical park but no bathroom or water fountain
Great open area. Very historical place. Great for families.
So much history packed into a well laid out and small area
This is a critical place because the nearby development caused historians to realize that battlefield areas should be perserved. There are monuments to two fallen generals here in a very small area.
Interesting small park that is good to learn about civil war history By The Way.
Great for a morning stroll. With or without pets.
Expected more... or at least more beautification in a such a tiny park...
Not much to see, but still a fascinating cautionary tale about what happens when history and modernity clash, and the latter wins. A must see for the civil war buff.
Very small battlefield.Good interpretive trail. In the middle of lots of suburban DC sprawl.
Small but a nice area to go walking and learn about history
Historic site too close to main roads to enjoy
Its a small park with civil war gravestones and info about a famous battle.
Love this small park.
There is literally nothing here, just a small park
Small parkLove it !
Ingres portals only
It is a small park
A small park but a real gem.
Mostly used to take pets for walks
Nice place for walking
Small Civil War Battlefield with some interesting plaques.
Small little circular park with a little bit of history placards strew around.
