This park is great! The kids loved it. Has toy trucks all over the place which is really cool. The playground was really awesome! Great for really young and a bit old kids (bout 12 years old). There are many benches around the park. There are some porter potties, picnic tables, basketball courts, and an open field. The downfall is the wood chips around the playground is the worst.
Great playground in the heart of Fairfax City! There is a large covered picnic table area, one very large and one smaller playground structure, a sand box, and a fun swing. There are numerous slides and areas to climb on. The sand box has toys. They also have a big swing set in the back and a set of porta potties.
Amazing park lots of slide. Chill crowd no weird people. Friendly kids.
Nice place to play soccer
Park is pretty clean and kept up, nothing too special though.
Nice city park with a great combination of playground equipment. Lots of fun for children of all ages up to about age 12. Good share and a pavilion for eating. Only limitation is parking. Definitely worth the stop if you have kids with energy to burn.
One of our favorite parks in the area. I almost hesitate to provide a review, since I dont want to drive up traffic to this area and keep it a hidden gem. Its been a great place for our 2 year old to come play without the crowds of other Fairfax playgrounds. You can also reserve the picnic table area for private gatherings as well.
Awesome place
Always kids playing. A fun place for children. Lots of parking and pretty safe.
Park has been updated. Lots of room to run and play. Wheel chair accessible. Sand box with community toys. Portapotty available. Nice shelter/picnic area. The only thing I dont like about this park is that its next to a busy road . The road is up a hill so you can catch them before they get to it, but its nerve wracking if your child is a runner.
Such a great park for all ages! Easily accesible by my just learning to walk 15 month old. Complete with several slides, climbing options, swings, benches to rest or eat and a baseball field, its really a comfortable and convenient place for all ages to play and be outdoors. Only con is street parking
Within the last 3 years I have gave straight buckets to over 300 people and let them know it’s my park, hundreds of people would drive by everyday and see me cookin.
Excellent playground equipment. Restaurants and other businesses are in walking distance. Only real negative is lack of water fountain.
A good park to take a child. It has a sandbox, and swings of substance. Exquisite.
Nice, cozy park for families, pets or even to just sit out and relax.
Its a lot of fun to chill there, play, and have a picnic there. Ive been going there for about 6 years and its really changed. If you havent gone then you should go there!
Nice park...we love the sand area
Great climbing experiences. It was very clean and easily accessible.
Super cool park! Something for all age ranges
Nice park with a good playground. The kids loved it.
Awesome playground!
Safe place to take your kids
Really cool playground, kids of all ages will love it! Theres even a sand box with lots of toys for the little ones.
What a great playground. Can easily lose track of time playing here.
The kids love it, and theres a skatepark there. I hear theres a new renovation coming for the skatepark, too. I hope they put some more ledges in. Cool spot overall. Well maintained and clean. Looking forward to going back.
Fun playground for kids, ropes, swings, climbing equipment, slides
My grandkids LOVED this playground! One if the best we ever been to!
Such a cute little park with street parking. Kids love it.
Good one
Nice playground. Offers shade by a giant tree
Very cool park, all my kids loved it!
Great playground! My kids love it.
This park is close to the road, but set far enough back that most children cannot get to the road. If you have a child that is fast or likes to elope, do be cautious. You can easily park on the side of the road if space, but otherwise there are lots of lots in Fairfax City, just a short walk, or at the visitor center right behind the park. They have 2 toddler swings and more regular swings, although no adapted swings. The updated play equipment has tons of ways to climb, run, slide, and hang, and it all is in good condition. There is also a pavillion with a few tables and benches, but it does not have to be such as balls or bikes, etc. There is a large field to run in, though. Just need mindful that it can get quite swishy and flooded in some areas after rain.
Nice park. Very clean and well kept. The playground is for all ages. Basketball and baseball courts are well kept. Great place for a picnic or famly gathering. Only thing missing is a public bathroom and more parking.
Ratcliffe park is a great plave for a picnic or to let the kids run around for a while. We enjoy the shaded play area in the summer time as well. The pavilion can be reserved for parties.
Great park for kids. They have a sand box, big jungle gyms, swings, slides and picnic tables. No bathrooms
Brand new playground just put in. There is also a pavillion that is available for rental. Plenty of green space for the kids to run around. There is also baseball field and basketball court. Great neighborhood park! It is in walking distance from old town Fairfax.
Right by the gym, so warm ups are fun. its also I great place to get a pick up game going
Great playground in the heart of Fairfax City
One of the best playgrounds in this area
Good playground
Good park
Very nice playground and park with picnic area for an afternoon out with the kids. No public restrooms.
Full disclosure we live across the street from this park and we are here every day. Fairfax City maintains the park and they do a good job. There is a picnic shelter and grill. No bathroom but recently a port-a-potty appeared with a handwashing sink. Not sure if that will be a permanent fixture.People have periodically left sandbox toys in the sandbox which is nice for the kids. This summer my husband removed the broken ones and replaced them with some various toys - small trucks, one kid-sized large truck, a few larger shovels, etc. Within 2 weeks they were broken or stolen. We go every day so it was easy to notice. The broken ones make sense because kids break things but parents letting their kids steal communal toys is annoying. It wasnt the City because they never clear out the toys. We will replace again next summer.Besides that this is a nice family park with a lot of open space and shade for a good portion of the day. It rarely gets as crowded as Van Dyck.
Newly redone. Beautiful!
A small, triangular park bordered on two sides by busy streets but of good size for little ones to run around. Features: baseball diamond, basketball court, covered picnic area, swings, sandbox, two kids climbing areas, and a great shady sycamore which is nice on hot days.
Pretty nice area, would be nicer if there was a porta-potty
Good park with a variety of playground features as well as a sandbox.
Well kept, safe, well lit, nice area
This park is beautiful. It has lots of free parking places.
Just needs water.
Well kept park with two play structures (for littles and bigger kids), two swingsets with baby swings, sandbox (the crown jewel according to my 3 yo), picnic pavilion, softball field, basketball court, and a big grassy area for a soccer field. No fences. One huuuuuge maple in the middle shades the play areas on summer mornings. NO BATHROOMS. Very close to old town restaurants, etc. Would probably be good for sledding on a snow day.
A beautiful, perfectly maintained oasis, thank you Fairfax City Parks and Rec., you guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!
