What a great park! I was surprised by the wide variety of amenities here. Something for everyone! I visited the park last night and had the best time! There were people in every field, court and open space having a good time. There is a ton of open space with lots of tables and benches so even with a crowded park it was easy to find a special spot for a romantic picnic. I highly recommend the park and hope to return soon.

Ive been coming to this park for over 40 years, first as a small child and now as a parent of my own children. We recently rented the upper pavilion through the citys website, so we could have a family birthday party that was social distanced and outside. Everything was perfect at the park for my sons special day!

Fun place to be its a whole park to bring your kid and you even cook there, and theres a basketball court, but most importantly a skate park, but parents I strongly advise you not to drop off your little kids at the skate park, skaters dont like them sitting on the ramps and getting into the way and they have a chance of getting hurt

Busy park with nice amenities. It’s important to reserve the pavilions if you’re planning to use them-otherwise it’s first come first serve. The reservation schedule is posted next to each pavilion each day. There isn’t any electricity run to the pavilions for those who are wondering

Ive been going to this park with my family since I was a kid. It is well kept, there are several playsets for kids, and a huge field to kick around in. So long as you dont stay too late past dark, everybody who visits is usually very friendly. But again, there are some pretty sketchy people that hang around after dark, so just make sure not to stay too long

The park is nice with a huge field, volley ball nets, a big playground, trails, tennis courts, and even a skate park. Though the skate park could be a bit bigger it is still a nice place to go to.

On-site parking, paved walking trail, HUGE bowl field to play in/slide down, and 3 separate play areas with lots of play equipment. On-site porta-potties appeared well-sanitized but were out of hand wash, so bring wipes or sanitizer. There are 3-4 separate pavilions which have good spacing between picnic benches, for those looking for socially distant gathering options. The park was not too busy on a Friday at noonish, but I hear it gets crowded on the weekend. No entry fee. Took off one star for accessibility as grades are steep and play areas are not wheelchair accessible (theyre in raised beds).

There is something for everyone and any age here. Pavilion with picnic tables, playgrounds for a variety of ages, basketball hoops, waking trails. Its great! Only downfall is port o potty for bathroom needs.

This is a great not so little park with several playgrounds, where you can play volleyball on sand, skate in an enclosed area, have a picnic and use the charcoal grills or even get cover and have a birthday party under the pavilion.

Great place to spend time with family and kids. Plenty of trees around the play areas and grass fields make for a nice scenery while providing a refreshing breeze.

Great little park has bbq grills and plenty of things to do. Skateboard park, Volley ball, and plenty of gymnasiums for the kids.Awesome.

Lots flat open space to set up volleyball nets, plenty of picnic shelters and some short trails in the woods. Only downside is that parking is a little limited on busy weekends.

Great walking nature trail in Fairfax. Shady and quiet. Highly recommended!

Lots of playground equipment and looks well taken care of. Located next to the City of Fairfax Police Department so safe also. Has tennis and basketball courts.

Great place to walk during our isolation time. Good hills and no traffic noise. The playgrounds were closed, so less people.

With multiple small playgrounds, some educational aspects, a blacktop and a small but decent skate park area,this place really tries to cover everything. Add in a sheltered sitting area with picnic tables, a large open field,a long exercise walking path, and even a couple grills (camping style) and you can basically do anything here.It is so large an area it is possible to lose sight of your kids, which might be a concern to some parents. Overall I like the spread out choose your own adventure style of the play areas, but if you like to sit and talk and just look up once on a while to see everything is OK,you might want a different (smaller) play ground. If you dont mind them really getting a chance to run though,this is a great place.I especially appreciated the merry go round Christmas tree with the ropes in a cone going up the outside, feels like high adventure but the higher you go the slower they spin (thanks physics) so it really works out reasonably safely even for those who want to climb on the outside. Neat design, and good for those inside too.The climbing wall is high, the hang and spin is about the same, making the main play areas great for big kids,while the bee and dragon fly themed smaller areas are great for the younger kids too. I admired the dragon fly teeter totter for a really nice design that wont pinch hands or go wrong as often as some other see saw styles Ive seen.Whole place is like that really, well designed work with enough danger/fun to appeal to the kids but enough smarts in the way its put together that its pretty safe (overall).Nice park, will return for parties and get togethers!

Great for kids. Great for teens. Great for big people, too. Lots of activities.

Park is great for walking and for children. Slides, merry go round, swings, volley ball court, tennis courts, basket ball court, and several places to sit at tables or on benches. There is also a skateboard area. There are a ton of poke stops for those who are trying to catch them all!

Can Dyck park is one of my family’s go to parks. It has lots of different play area for different ages of children. The park also has several walking paths to walk on during your visit.

Love taking my kid here! Lots of different parks to play on. They have a trail and a restroom.

I love this park... A former frequent stop where my rugby club played our home games. The hills provided spectators a great view and the grounds were well kept. I understand one can now see a Gaelic Football match there in season.

Lots to do there for kids

This is a fantastic park and we love coming here however we would like to point out that there are a set of swings over near the main playground and the footpads below the swings are too high up. My daughter was swinging along practicing her pumping and her foot caught the black square landing pad just below the swing and it stopped her short and made her fall off. She is 5.

Parked at St. Leos Church next door. Played tennis Friday Evening starting at 9pm. One hard court was available. Lights would have been effective if the trees and branches would be trimmed to expose the lights! The end court was probably 50% light potential due to this.

It’s a great park, very clean and organized. Lots of places for kids to play. Nice covered tables, good for picnics or just to hang out at. They also have a nice trial and a tennis court

Dropped by to shoot some baskets with my friends, amazing place for kids, a skateboard park, basketball ball court,and an amazing playground. Safe area, police patrol regularly. I reccomend it over them all!

It is great to have and great for the kids in the neighborhood. It is tracked away at the back of the school and not very well maintained as there are animal tards all over the pavements so be careful where your kids walk. The kids enjoy it and you will be there for at least an hour.

Great park for my toddlers, free parking, with basketball court, slides, climbing wall and best of all is the big sandbox !

Nice place for kids and family. My kids love playing there. It is big enough for kids to run, bike, or even play soccer. It has a big covered designed area for parties or big group gathering.

Great park with tons of play equipment for the kiddies. Also there is a field for roaming, kite flying, and other space-intensive activities. Look for space at the municipal building if after hours and parking is an issue.

Spent 2 hours here and kid never got bored. So much to do. And they have water fountains. The ice cream man showing up was also a big plus.

Great for families! Theres a plenty of space to park, eat, and play. Playground has a toddler side and big kid side, plus a sand box, swings, and lots of climbing equipment. Theres a shaded area with tables and grills. Theres also lots of open grassy space for running around or having a picnic.Pros: plenty of parking and space to play, clean, safe (next to the police station)Cons: port-a-potty only, limited shade on playground so it can get hot.

A very good area for kids!

Its very big there are startung to add new equipment because the old ones are getting a little rusty and dangerous. I like the running trails which go through the entirety of the park. An ice cream truck comes on hot days which is a very nice thing. Also there are peninsulas all over which is great to have partys or picnics in. Great place

This is a nice park in a good location. There is something for everyone, with facilities ranging from a skate park to basketball court to playground, tot lot, and sand box. There are also open green areas for just running around or playing frisbee. It is also right by the Fairfax police station, so I cannot think of a safer place to take your kids to play.

I love this part for the volleyball nets surrounded with sand. Theres also nice gazebos with clean grills to cook from.The skatepark is nice as well. Being Covered by tall bushes helps keep the noise level down around it.There is also a huge open field in which you can do pretty much anything you want

My kids have loved this park their whole life. There are lots of activities for kids of all ages. It even has a skateboard park. It can get crowded at times though.

Park is clean and safe during the day. I highly recommend staying away near night as criminals and homeless people rome but nonetheless youre directly next to ffx city police station lol

Great playground with plenty of equipment for all ages. Skate park and scooter area, ball court for soccer and basketball and tennis courts. There is a sandbox, swings, climbing frames and large lawn and wooded trail.

Our 3-1/2 year old grandson had plenty of varied structures to play on and some paths on which he could ride and coast his glider bike.
