I fully admit that I only stopped at this park to see if I could get decent photos of the way the light from the sunset was hitting the mountains yesterday. Answer: not really. Only way to do that is if youre in the passenger seat of a car on I-5 with a high-speed camera...not if youre a driver with a death-wish.

I grew up less than a walking minute away from this park. The transformation of this park leaves me breathless every time I visit.Theyve added a community garden, its more wheelchair accessible, its just plain cleaner as well & the play set has greatly improved (even though my nostalgia will always love the old version).I love coming back and visiting this park, theyve made it something really special.

I really do like this park...The upper half is a good place for people to park and sit for hours (which is very important to have considering the size of our homeless community.. Everybody should feel safe) the upper half is also for company and NA ... Etc.. Softball games.Lower half is a very nice placs to picnic, let the kids be free, frisby, and maybe toss the football around.. Has a cabana and grills too

My kids love this park. Bathrooms are fairly well kept. Lots of families for them to interact with. They recently cut the bushes on the backside where the homeless lived. Park rangers visit often. This has helped reduce the homeless issue significantly. Dog bags are kept full if you forget yours. Wish the park had an enclosed dog area. Plenty of room for it on the Northside.

Love this park. Great for all ages. From the new seat on the zip line to the family size disk swings. Get up early and feed the seagulls from the upper parking lot having them hover above you as they eat from your hands. Or just exercise on the path surrounding the fields.

Such a big park with a great view and so much available to do with a medium amount of off street parking (not RV size though but if street parking available for that) Playset areas for bigger kids and younger kids too. BBQ areas with covered roofing(perfect for bday parties), baseball/softball field, basketball, large grassy area perfect for picnics, even garden plots that people can rent. Nature and people friendly combined. Only downfall is bathrooms are closed during winter months. And dog friendly with pop bags available and plenty of garbage cans.

I brought my 10 yr old black lab to the park to play. This is a nice park with large fields to run around. They supply poo bags which is always nice. There is a Nice playground for kids which has a cool looking jungle gym and a little zip line. I love that this park has little garden plots that you can rent in the spring/summer. Its really nice seeing everyones garden especially when its close to harvest time. I also appreciate that there are bathrooms and they actually keep soap and toilet paper stocked. I have been too many public bathrooms over the years without these 2 basic items so this is a plus. It may sound silly but a girl needs her TP and soap. The bathrooms are clean and they have sharps containers built in inside the bathrooms which I have now found to be an absolute necessity in todays world. Overall I love this park and so does my pup. The only negative thing is that they do lock the bathrooms for the whole winter. Jeez my post mentions the bathroom a lot.

I love this park. The only problem is that there is a brown van with curtained windows that the same one man sits in the middle behind the curtain but in view of the entire park in front of the van and he sits like that for hours while kids are playing in the ballfields. And he creeps me and my family and friends out. Just a warning to keep an eye out for that van and watch your kids while its there.

Nice park but Zipline is currently down, it gets fixed and broken again, nice basket ball court with lower hoops for small children. Big grass fields, baseball field, a community garden, bathrooms that are closed part of the year, currently still closed. Awesome climbing tower, cool swings but minimal standard playground equipment .

A sweet place to play sports, relax, walk your dog, have a barbeque, day park, gardening and/or have a party. There are wonderful bathrooms and drinking fountains, even one for dogs, a very fun and modern playground and memorial about erecting the park up. There is also lots of parking in various parking. Its right between the freeway ramp and old Broadway. It is also very close to tje Lucky Market and the year round fruit stand in the big red barn and is very near to two other parks as well; Garfield Baseball Park and Wiggums Hollow Skate Park. So Jackson park is right in the middle of everything and is a very hip and happening little place and let me tell you the folks that show up there really respect and enjoy sports and mingling with the crowd until night fall. Other times people just keep quietly to themselves and enjoy quit time in their cars, long walks and observing the activities from the bleacher. I recommend this park because everybody is enthusiactic and well behaved. There are sports equipment which may be rented with the field but it may be for scheduled events from organizations and school facilities but they are there. The Stands are well fenced at the pitchers mounds and there are drinking fountains and bathrooms for the fans on that side of the park. But whenever theres a sporting event or just guys playing basketball or random sports, it draws a loving crowd. I think thats what most people are looking for at Jackson Park and the Picnics!

The park itself is beautiful and very well maintained. The problem is the amount of homeless miscreants that hang out there. Guns, knives and needles are what that element is bringing to a childrens park. Time to clean it up and make it safe for the kids.

Love this park. Has a garden for growing. Has a zipline. It has tables and it is covered. There are restrooms. It has a place to set up for events. Has a lot of soccer and football space there are two different sections for parking. A really great park. It’s rarely busy. Mostly children who live in the area come around to play. A go to for the family.

Too many homeless people behind the bathroom which ruin the nice park not saying that they are bad people just saying that there is a lot of homeless there but the park is a lot more better than the previous park and has a zipline but people keep breaking the zipline to the point were you barely use it before the next day its broken but it is still a better park and a lot of kids go there so kids can play with each other
