Nice time, the sunset is beautiful! The boat ride and view were worth the cost of the short trip out onto the lake. With 1/2 full (due to pandemic) the experience was still a bit loud, people/children talking loudly about things outside of the reason for being there. The seating is not very comfortable, bring a cushion if thats something you need. All in all, we were pleased with the Sunset cruise and took many great pictures.
We arrived around 6:45p.m. and found plenty of parking ( Thursday). The lady staff at the booth was cleaning and talking on the the phone at the same time she did not mention that we were supposed to get the tickets from her. Even though you paid for the ticket online, she has to verify that you are there and get you a physical ticket. There is a bathroom with flushing toilets nearby.Boarding: They prearrange seating based on the number of people in your party. They will call each party and take them to the assigned spot. They start at the back and end at the front. Disembarkation starts at the front and ends at the back. Even at 50% capacity, to me the boat was full. I cannot imagine how crowded it was at full capacity.Cruise: We departed at 7:15p.m and were back at 8:30p.m. They take you to a nice spot to see the sunset and then take you back to the port. There is a bathroom used only in case of emergencies. As the staff member told a guest, the guest determines the emergency. We carried our water, a couple in front of us brought wine.Tip: It is cool at night, grab a sweater.
We stumbled upon the Scenic Tour by accident, felt the price was very reasonable for a 90-minute guided tour and promptly purchased tickets for the next launch. The young lady (Caroline) giving the narration was personable, entertaining and obviously knowledgeable about Presque Isle history and the Great Lakes. She clearly enjoys her job! Seeing PI from the Lake was a treat and the narration made it more enjoyable. A pleasant outing for all ages, but would caution it is not intended for children who want to run around. Great value!
We took the 3:00 tour on 08/31.The bad (please read to the end for the good): The tour introducer was not professional. He was not customer-focused at all. He had a sarcastic and dismissive demeanor and argued with customers. He had an argument with a pair of customers about seating during which he yelled at them. He didnt try to accommodate their request at all, let alone communicate with them in a professional and civilized manner. Shortly thereafter he yelled at our party and actually threw the microphone down because one of us brought up discrepancies in the mask policy (customers had to wear them but the introducer was not at the time.) Both of these altercations took place in front of everyone in the back of the boat, so there are plenty of customers who witnessed them. Thankfully this unprofessional and rude man then went up to drive the boat so we didnt have to see him or deal with him any more. This man had also been in charge of the boarding process. The boarding process seemed ill-conceived and disorganized. If he would have stated that parties will be called to board in such a way that that they can be seated to try to maintain the best social distancing, we all would have understood and no one would have resented the seemingly arbitrary and off the cuff order. The good: The unprofessional introducer aside, the tour itself was interesting and fun. The boat takes you to the lake side of Presque Isle, a very interesting perspective. The narrator was a different person than the introducer. The narrator was extremely knowledgeable. His narration included elements of Erie history, science, the War of 1812, and details about various landmarks and sights as well as information about Presque Isle. Unfortunately our party was seated near the engine, so I missed probably 90% of what he said because I couldnt hear him over the sound of the engine, even though he was using a microphone. Incidentally, he did wear a face covering.
So we were visiting my sister in Erie and had just happened to find out about this place in a Erie guide. We reserved tickets online and running later then anticipated they called us to make sure we were still coming (we were in the park). The staff was so nice and we had so much fun and it was very resonably priced. I would definitely do it again.
I went on the lady Kate recently and had a lot of fun. The tour was amazing the employees were great and the over all ride was smooth. What bothers me is that my great granddaughter came home with 23 bites on her feet ankles and legs. They look to be either deer fly. So overall great ride. But please please if you are going to have a boat open to the public. Spray it for bugs before the passengers have to suffer the pain and umcomfort. The bugs are vicious.
Take the Boat Tour, you will love it. The young lady who is the Guide really knows her points of interest. There were 7 of us in the family who did the Boat Tour, we All just loved it and had a wonderful time. Tip the young lady. 5
The tour was great and the guide was nice and had a lot of information to share along with a reasonable price.
They were very knowledgeable and the boat was mostly empty for the sunset cruise. It was a wonderful and relaxing evening!
Wonderful, entertaining, informative Captains. The new one could have been louder, but the sunset view was so spectacular, it didnt matter. Amazing boat tour. Thank you!
Super nice boat tour and the tour guide was really informative! Really pleasant, would do it again for sure!!
A nice couple of hours on Lake Erie with some interesting info from our guide.
Me my daughter and young granddaughter went on the tour and they said you had to wear a mask. We said we dont have any they took are money anyway and let us on the boat. We had about 20 minutes left of the tour and the captain of the boat started screaming at us for not having a mask on .we said we told yins we dont have one he screamed then you shouldnt have got on and I said you shouldnt have taken my money. He was screaming the whole time people was getting off the boat. Very very unprofessional. I will never go on that tour again and Ill make sure I tell everyone how he treats people
Waste of time. On their website it says the tours will run rain or shine! I traveled over here just with the intention of going on their tour. It was a little bit cloudy out and drizzling rain but nothing heavy and they decided to cancel it. No notice on the website or anything else. Also by the time that tour was supposed to begin the drizzling rain had completely stopped. Im really glad I didnt buy my tickets online.
Beautiful sunset cruise.... Very informative.... Nice staff.....
The tour was very informative and the captain of the boat was very good at his job handleing the waves and all

Wonderful affordable way to enjoy Lake Erie, Presque Isle Park, & landmarks around the Lake. We loved the sunset tour! They shut the boat off & we enjoyed a quiet sunset. An excellent way to enjoy Erie whether you live here or are visiting!

Just eat lunch here, watch the birds, people fishing. Just the beauty of Presque isle, the best thing we have
The people that run it were so nice and kind. It was a cold and rainy day but they still took us. Nice boat trip
Boat tour was great. Guide was very knowledgeable on the lake and history. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
Beautiful time on the water
It was a great time, Caroline made the trip worth will - would definitely recommend or do it again !!!
Beautiful even if you just go to the area.
So Im in a wheelchair, and guess what. ONLY STEPS to get into the boat for the tour. Shame, because Im sure its a pretty cool tour, I just didnt get to check it out since they couldnt have a ramp sitting there that they could move up to the boat to help people who are handicapped. Its 2019, get your act together people.
Ok boat ride. Lots of history in the area. Tour guide seemed to get confused on details.Basicalky, just nice to be out on a boat ride on lake Erie. Huge lake.
