This place is truly beautiful! My wife, and I love visiting here. The beaches are clean, with great sand, and plenty of space to have your own privacy. The lifeguards on duty are friendly, and as long as your not being out of control you can pretty much do what you want. The water is nice: not hot by any means, but still enjoyable. Weve been here a few times, and we will continue to go back!
This review is just about beach 10. We arrived around 9a.m. on a Thursday morning and there were 2 families already there. Plenty of parking. We dragged our gear to our spot by the trees. We had a nice shaded spot. The water was somewhat cold. There are rocks as you get in. Luckily we had our water shoes. The sea gulls and the small waves reminded me of the ocean. The bathrooms are clean. Flushing toilets and running water. The website says that there is a food and beverage concession but there was no food available. There were vending machines. One of the vending machines had a sign stating that the concession was open at beaches 6,8 and 11.There was no lifeguard stationed at the beach. There was a lifeguard on a 4 wheeler doing rounds every now and then blowing the whistle and telling beach goers in the water that they should be 10 feet from the shore and to move closer to the shore.Overall, a good pleasant experience.
Ive enjoyed these beaches for over 20 years. Presque Isle offers a collection of sandy beaches, very much like you might see at an ocean beach. Depending on the beach, youll find picnic tables and grills. Most also include restrooms and changing areas. Some have concession stands. There are also many picnic areas. The higher numbered beaches have better sand maintenance.
It was windy that day. But it was beautiful and the kids loved it no matter the weather. Def worth the 2 hour drive from Pittsburgh
If you havent been it a great place to visit!! Not so much now that were dealing with the Coronavirus. Still it is beautiful! It was where my wife and I were married! The same beach that I shared in the photos. Known as the kite beach by the locals.
Today I went to Beach 10, which is my personal favorite beach. Its all the way out as far as you can go, and although not a huge beach, its wide open: great for tanning, good swimming, plenty of room usually to spread out, etc. The parking lot at Beach 10 is big, so its rare for it to be totally full, and there are a couple of more private peripheral beaches that are right there too, so its a great spot all things considered. Beach 10 also has restrooms and a changing area.
Nice hangout, if a little cluttered (meaning, littered) in some spots. Nice view of sunsets, thanks to the fact that the Canadian shore is beyond the horizon (meaning, it gives an appearance of the great wide ocean). Oh, and you might want to make sure you put gas in your car before driving into Erie. Gas is a lot more expensive everywhere in Erie than, say, at any gas station on I-90.
There are so many beaches at the park that even though the parking lots were packed, the beaches werent overwhelmed. Beautiful views and a gorgeous drive in. There was some litter on the beach and stuff like bottle caps in the water, but there is only so much they can do about that.
Very nice and clean beach. Not too crowded while we were there.
Beautiful place full of activities for everybody miles of trails and lots of wildlife for you to enjoy
Clean beach. Lots of things to do. A nice trail to walk. Kids loved it.
This place has always been near and dear to my heart. Ive always loved in Erie, and the beach is for sure one of my happy places. Wildlife and water fun.
Really great beaches and a nice area for all kinds of outdoor recreation.
What a great place to be even during the pandemic. The water, fresh air and sunshine are fantastic. Plus the beaches are free! Erie Pennsylvania is a great place to be. Really love it here!
The sunsets here are breathtaking.
Whether you want to bike walk kayak or just go to the beach this is an outstanding place and best of all its free.
Great place to take the family and relax and enjoy the water and sun. Will definitely be back!!
Presque Isle is a great place for families. Our grandkids enjoyed the sand and the surf.
This is the best place to go to the beach without driving to the coast. Absolutely beautiful.
Wintertime at Presque Isle. Need to make it back here in the summer when we can actually swim! Beautiful place, even with snow and ice.
Beautiful beach, plenty of sand, and space to spread out and enjoy.
Beautiful but cold! I can see how beautiful it will be in spring and summee, cant wait to come back.
Beautiful clean beach. The drive in was very pretty with a bike trail beside the road. The beach was very deep and long so even on a busy day there would be plenty of room. There were some picnic tables.
Nice beautiful place, just stay away from the bathrooms dirty and need cleaned!!
Its the best thing in Erie. My best friend and I go as much as we can
Extremely clean beach I was impressed. It was a perfect day to go and enjoy the waves and collecting sea shells.Wasnt a hot day so it was over crowded at the time. I would definitely be making another trip here.
Working class beach park. Well kept. Clean. Nice people.
Our beach house got canceled in Virginia. Instead of disappointing the kids this made a great substitute
Awesome clean beaches. Very polite lifeguard. Always lobe coming here for vacation. We were at Budny beach.
Beautiful beach. If you like cold water, this is the best.
Its one of the most fun state parks in Pennsylvania. So much to do and explore. Photo opportunities everywhere. Wildlife is in abundance if youre not afraid to get of the beaten path. Every time I make it here I find something new. Plenty of beach line for picnicking. Swimming is allowed on certain beaches only but so much more to do aside from the water. If you love the outdoors and havent been here, plan a trip for your favorite season!
Wonderful beach to go swimming and meeting people at as well. Keep up the good work lifeguards. Take care-nicholas alexander leach.
Beautiful area and weather was perfect!
Fun water isnt dirty, even though it should be because lake erie.
Love going the only issue is the swimming areas are small and kids cant have any toys in the water
Very dog friendly, we really enjoyed the beautiful day
Gorgeous spot! Family friendly!
The beach is great and its not too crowded, life guards are really nice and very helpful!!!
Excellent beach. 3 life guards on duty, safe, and clear water.
Great place to set a chair on the beach and take in the scenery.
Great place for families! Lovely lakefront beaches.
Very nice and clean. People social distanced and everyone was nice.
Lots of space, nice beaches. Love this beach
Always a wonderful experience with some of the best sunsets anywhere
Awesome lots to do, swimming, boating, anything to do outside, its here to enjoy with the beaches, & open water.
Never have any complaints going to this place it is so amazing to look at everything here and enjoy and to relax.A great place to take the family.
Great place to go with the family. Pets included!!!
Loved it. Beautiful!!!
Many miles of beautiful beaches, some guarded and some unguarded. Honestly just a beautiful location and place to spend your day.
They did not have all of the bathrooms o p en we has to walk half a mile to use the one they had open, otherwise a fun day.
One of favorite places to visit in PA, especially during Summer. This state park has over 10 beach options along its isle. Even in busy days its easy to find a place to settle down without crowds bugging you.
Weve been coming up here for the past 20+ years! We call it our home away from home. We absolutely love it here!
Best place to relax!
Very easy to access all the beaches on Presque Isle. They even have dog friendly beaches! There are tons of bike and walking trails on the Isle which get used regularly. Weekends during the summer can get a little crazy but even then, there are still spots that will not be too crowded.
Pretty cool place to stop by and check out if youre in the area.
Feet in the sand watching the sunset with the one I love
Excellent, clean beaches lined with trees.
If it wasnt bad with flies we would of enjoyed it more
Nice beach, nice waves, no sharks.
Nice and clean. Very peaceful.
Big Beach small City! Cant go wrong here.
Great place to take the family and watch the sunset. Get in your vehicle before sunset because the mosquitoes are ferocious!
Nicest beach on lake Erie. Wish you could use floats.
Gorgeous. Cant wait to go back
First time here and hope to be back soon! Great time at the beach and riding our bikes along the paths. Clean and picturesque!
Very nice beach. Not many masks.
Enjoyed a leisurely family stroll on Gull Point trail. Beautiful!
I really enjoyed the ride through.the park
Fun little covid day trip
Love the beaches!!! Pleasantly surprised. My first time there and Ill definitely will be back. Im a beach bum and lived near beaches throughout my life, so having a place two hours away is a plus from Pittsburgh.
Clean and friendly. A great set of lake beaches.
Peaceful and relaxing. Water was perfect
Despite the deep pot holes in the parking area, the beach was beautiful
Erie Beach is a great place to relax, swim, tan, or scan the waters edge for beach glass.
Beautiful, massive area.
Great chill spot loved it my first time
Fun place to take kids for the day.
Cant be beat love this place so relaxing and great sunsets.
Beautiful, loved biking there as and very clean
Neat and Clean beach. Perfect place for relaxing. Dont forget the take ur tents or Umbrellas if want to escape from Sun.
Really like it there.
We had waves,,seagulls,,beach glass galore,,and lots of,, bathroom is open, some food courts are open, life guards on some beaches, and grills to cook out on,limited tables,,
Lake Erie isnt all that clean and the beaches was kind of murky water and dust from the dirt on the beaches. We felt really dirty afterwards but Lake Ontario is a lot better in my opinion. The park itself was pretty and a lot of fishing spots. The houses on the water were cool also. Theres plenty of different places for a picnic and you can grill out here also. I wouldnt want to swim here and I dont think it is allowed either, but there are plenty of people who canoe or go kayaking. Its not too far from an amusement park that looks really cool and theres a pretty popular diner not too far also. You can make a day trip out of it.
Greag place to stop. Bathrooms are open as well and camping, COVID seems not a thing here.
Honestly I spend the majority of my time and Erie at Presque Isle. Ive lived here for three years and I can honestly say I visit at least 2 or 3 days a week. I love hiking seeing the animals and just relaxing
Peaceful and beatific
Love my hometown.
Growing up this is the only beach I ever knew! Havent been in awhile and just visited again. Much the same except a lot cleaner than I remember. Had a great time. Quiet a bit of people, but space was available. Life gaurds at just about every beach. We went to beach 11 and the only issue would have been the awful dead fish smell! Once you got used to that all was good!
Beautiful! Erie has become a very clean lake!
