On a cloudy day this lake might look gloomy but the walk/hike around the lake is always beautiful. It’s easy to walk and long enough for your dog to get tired. There are signs that say how far you’ve walked. I usually start at the Elizabethtown nature park and walk under the tunnel, around freeman lake and back. Right now I haven’t seen them rent out kayaks or SUP but they used to before the virus. There are benches to have a picnic and if you like to cycle it’s also bike friendly. There’s also a little dog park at the end of the freeman lake park called etown dog park. It’s really nice, free of charge and people are friendly.

Nice park. Very peaceful... Well maintained. The Lincoln house is also very cool. But BE WARNED. The sign on the gates that says they are shut and locked at 9pm is ACCURATE. They dont play. It was 9:03 when I tried to leave. The gates were shut and locked. They left this card on my car and I called the number MULTIPLE times... But the number went straight to a voice mailbox that wasnt set up... Had to do some creative off-roading to get out of there... Thankfully I drive a Jeep.

Its so beautiful! I love going there when I need some fresh air or want to hang out with some friends. I really think itd benefit the park to install new/better play grounds for the kids. The ones right now get filled up very quickly and doesnt give the park the best look. Other than that, I love it!

Beautiful and well maintained park in a convenient location. The walking trail is pretty flat so it can be used by anyone. Fishing is allowed with a state fishing license.

Beautiful. Loved walking around, exploring the park and reading all the details of its historical features. Cant wait to bring a paddle boat next summer and skim the lake.

Absolutely beautiful lake and park area. My daughter and I make the trip from Bowling green to Elizabethtown once every couple months for orthodontist visits and now that we have discovered such a beautiful place, we make it a point to stop in every time we can.

Excellent place to take kids, or just go alone for a peaceful environment. There is a beautiful trail to walk around the lake. Its the perfect place for picnics. Beautiful Geese to feed. Lots of playground equipment scattered throughout the park. Plenty of pavilions.

Its a decent place for a walk with the family. The fishing kind of sucks due to people using unconventional bait and ruining the ecosystem. If you get a kayak and stay away from the shore the fishing gets better. Overall, its a great small lake and park.

Its a very nice park. I absolutely cant wait for Christmas in the park, maybe itll open earlier this year. We can only hope, right?

Freeman Lake is the Green in Elizabethtown area without driving to a resort or the Ohio River to enjoy green space. The area is so flat otherwise so its wonderful to have the Lake and greenspace to enjoy.

Freeman lake is a beautiful park with alright fishing and a great, 18 hole disc golf course. I play disc golf there with my family two to three times a week. There are an abundant amount of Poke-stops and Gyms as well.

Freeman Lake is a beautiful place to visit this park has educational experience as well as barbecuing or just enjoying with family and friends. You will have a wonderful time

Has a very nice view overlooking the lake with playgrounds, dog park, disc golf course and much more to explore. Very nice place to escape for the afternoon. Must have state and city fishing licenses but lake is well stocked with bass, bluegill/sunfish, crappie and more.

I love fishing there they also have big carp interesting catches nice park got a volley ball net and more....

A fantastic family park right in the middle of etown. Has a large beautiful lake along with shelters and playgrounds. Great family place!

I couldnt believe how much the place had changed... For the better. I hadnt been here since the late 1980s and I have to say that it is beautiful! The pavilions have been redone and the main building is very nice! We used to call it the barn but now it is a proper main office. They even added tennis courts! I wish I would have thought to grab some pictures. I wonder if the wedding party would let me use one of theirs?

On days like today it is the perfect place. The picturesque lake, the almost never ending trails, and the sun in the blue sky make this place perfect.

Very nice park. Very quiet during the week. They also have a dog park, for big and small dogs.

Park was very clean and well maintained, plenty of picnic tables and trash cans, ducks and geese were everywhere and very entertaining to say the least. A nice breeze was coming in off the lake and made for a very comfortable time watching the waterfowl. Some beautiful, unique trees in this park.

Good place to walk, playgrounds are run down, tennis courts look nice but I dont play.

Even though it doesnt look like much theres a lot of things you can do me fishing I cant swim but you can go running walking and one of the most important things people dont realize is their history there.Abraham Lincolns house in school is there and certain hours think its through the summer and through September I think like May through September I believe you can go in there and look at the school and everything just look around and its kind of funny because the desk and everything kids back then or even writing on desk and putting gum and stuff underneath the desk just like they do nowadays so LOL I think thats just kind of funny.

Great place to squeeze in a little nature fix. Multiple trails, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, tennis courts, history, playgrounds, dog park, and more. So thankful to have this in our town.Oh and great place to watch the sunrise or sunset. (Depending on where you are around the lake.

The Freeman Lake Trail is very well maintained and I now walk it at least 3 times a week! I rate is a easy walk but decent distance. Hardest part is just finding someone to walk it with!

We finished for 5 hours and didnt even catch a fish I think they need to stock this lake if theyre going to allow people to fish in it I used to come there when I was a child beautiful place just empty

Only 5 dollars for 4 people to rent pattle boat for an hour. The view is beautiful on the lake. Staff was nice & helpful. Will go back to rent kayaks next time.

Very lovely scenery. Various things to do. Picnics, fishing, boating, biking, trail walks/hiking, etc. There is also playgrounds and swings for recreational fun as well as volleyball nets. They also have dog parks for both small and big canines. Many activities to do at Freeman Lake Park.

The park was really clean and very well maintained. And everyone was practicing good social distancing. We really enjoyed our stay there.

The disc golf course was nice, for my first time i think it was a fairly simple course to learn

Its not open now until the 6th, but we will definitely will be back for kayak rentals when they open up. It is a beautiful walk and you dont feel like your in the city.

Beautiful. You can rent paddle boats, and canoes. Lots of good fishing. Plenty of places to host a cookout. A dog park with two separate areas for large and small dogs with plenty of shade and water fountains for the pups.

The park is nice. However, it was no clean bathrooms which is not good when you have children. Its really been upgraded since I went last.

Walk through the woods on the far side of the lake. On the near side picnic or go to the dock and grab a paddle for your self guided tour of the lake. Although the lake is small there it offers a nice family outing.

I typically go here for the scenery on my lunch break go get away from work. This park is always clean and never too many people there. The only thing I wish, is that the picnic tables be fixed up or re done. I eat there every day and see all the new toys and boat lodges and stuff while sitting on a rickety, splintery picnic table.

This part of the lake wed never been to before. Lots of trails, shade. Peaceful relaxing walk with the family.We needed to unplug for a change.

Fun place to walk around and relax by the water

I love coming here! It’s a great place for outdoor activities such as jogging and picnicking. It has a dog park, volleyball court, tennis court, playgrounds, and water activities. People use this park to take professional photos. At Christmas time it has an awesome light show. I participated in a 5K fun run here and it was really cool!

Loved most of the trail. Some gets lost in heat and asphalt but not a bad walking trail for a nice and easy walk.

A nice lake that has a small boat launch and lots of other items: tennis courts, frisbee golf, multiple playgrounds, dog park, pavilions, grass, many trails, and lastly trees.

Very much enjoy going there if its just a drive through or spent a few hours

Beautiful place to go fishing and to get out on the water offers playground and i believe tennis and basketball courts but i only go for the fishing and boating just wish i had better luck with the fish lol

When my parents lived in Elizabethtown for several years, we often spent time or had a picnic at Freeman Lake Park. It was a very nice place to enjoy our leisure time in the outdoors and was never ever crowded.

Over all this is a great park and worth your time to visit.You got some wonderful trails to run/walk on right next to the lake side and you see some of your Elizabethtown taxes improving and renovating the area as well.The park also has a dog park and many events that happen in the area too.Unfortunately as of today the trail road doesnt fully go around the whole lake and rainy weather can cause tons of mud a ruin the day on the trails.It be nice to see the whole trails updated with new roads like it is at the lake front.

Very picturesque.

A nice place to stop and rest if travelling. There was a nice shdaded pavilion and playground that we stopped at. The bathrooms were locked, proba my due to Covid-19.

Im always at the park walking my dogs or running around the whole lake. So nice!
