Absolutely gorgeous! Quick trails- we spent 30-40 minutes at the park with young kids. Can’t wait to come back!

Gotta love big falls. It has very nice scenery. The canoe trip down to lake altoona is worth the effort by far.

Very popular spot. Cool rapids and a fun swimming beach. Great for teens and young adults. Mostly family friendly during morning hours.

Awesome place for nature! There is a small parking fee but the view is so awesome, There are currents that you can ride that go super fast and Lots of rocks to do fun parkour on!

This is a really nice park. Waterfalls and big stretches of sandy beaches. Daily Parking is 5 bucks but its absolutely worth it.Its a short walk to the falls from the parking lot: perhaps a quarter mile. The falls themselves are quite rocky so if you dont feel comfortable climbing over rocks and jumping streams you might have a rough go.The lower beach area is fairly accessible and youll still get good views. There is a large streach of sandy shoreline that is less populated at the top of the falls, but it requires some clamboring.

Beautiful place. Not used to paying to visit a small county park so thats a downside.

Very busy place with mostly college kids. Hard to get around as areas around the falls have been plugged up with dead wood. Trails are well kept. Great place to experience some nature.

Beautiful little shut-ins type water fall. Pay $5 to park for half hour amusement... Really Wisconsin!?

Always a lovely, relaxing visit whichever side of the falls you drive to. Nice paths, scenic, beautiful wild flowers spring through fall. You can port across the river to enjoy both sides, but make sure youre wearing a bathing suit! We wait to see where others are crossing to find the best (less deep) way.

Great scenic beach area! Also cool to visit in the winter with the snow making it look beautiful. Parking is easy, filling out the thing and putting it in the slot for parking (as well as not having change or anything) was somewhat inconvenient so be sure to bring a $5 bill. Somewhat of a hike depending on where you want to go, pretty big and lots of beach area in the summer even when it is crowded.

Fun time, had to be careful about where we crossed the river to get to the beaches across the river. Fast currents and unexpected deep spots are a hazard, but easily avoidable with slow steps. The waterfalls and rapids are beautiful.

I liked it, the beach was nice, the trails were good, the islands looked great, and the falls were also great. I would definitely suggest people to hang out there for 24-48hrs.

Stunning landscape on the river. Not for people with poor mobility.

Could use some signage in a map. Theres so many social trails it was hard to know where to go.

Beautiful. Careful coming in if you are alergic to poison ivy though. Its everywhere.

Getting here in the winter isnt too bad, but the trails are not maintained at all so after it freezes shoes with spikes are highly recommended. The path becomes like a skating rink in the right weather.Despite this, the river and falls are beautiful year-round and if you have a couple hours to spare its a great spot to relax.

Great place for an adventure! Swim in the flowage, bath in the natural pools and dive into the falls. There walking and hiking trails or you can simply check out the abundance of rock formations.

Beautiful waterfalls! Crazy that it costs $5 to have a pass to get in - after buying a state park pass for $30 (we are from out of state). No pets allowed :(

Its so beautiful and a really nice hike

Excellent remote getaway just on the outskirts of Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley! Lots of calm water to swim in just beyond the falls, with sandy beaches and its own island! On hot summer days you will find this park packed with swimmers and outdoor enthusiasts! If youre into off-roading, the south entrance also offers some off-roading trails if you are adventurous enough!

The majority of the swim area is low speed and shallow enough for anyone 15 years or older. Undertow is strong though.

Very beautiful. Can spend an entire day, easily, for only $5. My children didnt want to leave. In just a few hours we crossed paths with a few turtles and 2 snakes.

I love going to Big Falls! Its a great place to go swimming and just chill out in the sun but if its rained a lot recently ya gotta be careful cuz the water gets high and the current strong. Which could be dangerous.

A local favorite with entrances on Q and K. was fun in 1996 and in 2019 and all the years in-between. definitely a place to make memories!

This is a true beauty! My family loves the waterfalls but thats only the start! I think its so cool that you get to swim across the river to a sandbank, or swing from a rope swing into the river, or use the current to go down a waterfall! The fun that we had a big Falls County Park doesnt stop Soldier cooler pack a picnic and spend the day with your family at this County Park! All you have to pay is for a parking pass which is 5 bucks a day unless you buy a season pass and remember this is a Wisconsin County Park so theyre good throughout :-)

Gorgeous views. For being so close to eau Claire and Altoona, it takes you SOOOO far away from the city in terms of relaxation, peace, and serenity. Plenty of beaches to hang out on and choose from when the river is low. Soft white sand and knee deep water make for a very enthralling time in the outdoors

Couldnt do much but play In shallow spots. The current is to fast sometimes. I would not recommend for not strong swimmers

I hadnt visited this place since being a younger kid .... over 30 years ago.I have a newer appreciation for having been able to once play and camp in the area.Now its a very cool geological spot.

What a gem of a county park

Absolutely beautiful I have spent a lot of time there through out my life

North entrance is the beachy entrance. Slight walk down a beautiful forest trail. You come out into a sandy area and can wade across to a bigger beach or towards the falls area.South entrance is definitely more of a hike but closer to the falls and more scenic. Definitely wear water shoes. Not for flip flops. Youll go down quite the steep hike to get to the water.The falls are absolutely stunning. There are smaller ones that are fun to play around in. Most of the area is pebbly/sandy.Mosquitos can be a bit of a problem depending on the time you go there. 5 dollar parking fee or 30 for all wi parks. Bathrooms are basically outhouses. No real other facilities that I saw. Very enjoyable.

Beautiful falls, and a shot walk from the entrance. Make sure you pay the $3 parking lot fee, so you dont get a ticket!

This has been one of my favorite spots since I was a kid. One of the first places I ever swam. Dont get down nearly enough these days. But I still believe its one of the most beautiful places in WI

This is one of my favorite places to go. There are normally not many people there and the water fall is only a short walk from the parking lot. It does cost a little to go but its definatly worth it

Trails are overgrown near river, county used to maintain them, but apparently not anymore. Water quality was excellent.

Great place to swim and enjoy a hot summer day. Theres 2 entrances, but I prefer the south entrance. It doesnt really matter though because you can easily walk across to the other side.

Gorgeous! This is a must see spot with lots of good swimming holes and beautiful sights. The beaches are a mix of sandy and rocky, so you may want to wear some swim shoes. Also, please pick up your trash and dont litter in such a great place--its a shame to go there and see that some people are too lazy to clean up after themselves.

This place is very dull and boring. All there is to see really is small falls. The paths are poorly kept and there are spider webs covering the paths that make them very frustrating to take. My girlfriend and I are trying new places to try and run/hike at around Eau Claire and this place is terrible for it. The only way I can see myself enjoying this park is if I brought a canoe or kayak to go down the river with, otherwise I would strongly not recommend it. You also have to PAY for parking or have a membership to go there and trust me the park is definitely not worth paying for.
