Cool place, nice park for young kids to play at. Alot of nature and scenery to explore on the walking trail which goes around the whole park. Baseball games are a good time when they are playing. Can also fish in half moon pond but I wouldnt recommend eating or keeping anything you catch. That being said its a nice pond with a beach at one end to hangout at in the warm weather. Ice skating in the winter. The park also features a football field home to local adult teams and high schools that play at different time throughout the football season. The Paul Bunyan logging museum is a cool place to check out if youre into history, also has an old schoolhouse and other historic items from around the area that are interesting to see and read about. Lastly there is the train and railroad tracks with a couple old buildings. The tracks give a decent tour when the train is running. With all that available and plenty of spots in the park to have a gathering of any size the park is one of the cities main sites of recreation and events. Its not a bad idea to plan a trip here around one of the sporting events or other events/festivals and gatherings that take place here during the year. Its also a great spot to go for a walk and not be bothered if youre more of a private person as well.

Definitely among my top 3 favorite city parks that Ive ever been to. While the open areas and kids playground section are quite nice, what I like most about Carson Park is that theres also a ton of lakeside pathways and patches of woods to explore! And lets not forget about all of the wildlife as well!

Went on Memorial Day weekend and it was busier than usual according to Google, but there were still parking spaces available. The bathroom was fine. Running water (not pit toilets). A short walk by the water under the cool pines was just what I needed in the middle of a busy day.

This park reminds me of a park we have back home. It was easy to navigate, had several small parking spots to stop roadside, and we even found some geocaches! Wish it had a little bit better of a water view, but that is nature at its finest!

Any trees being preserved in small to big cities is great! I caught fish there. Once, almost a keeper. Good for kids to learn before its a fish on the line every cast. Great pavilions for gatherings! Superb park, if people stopped stealing parts. Clean up after your dog or sister please. Stuff happens at the field, but Paul Bunyan is more important and right behind. Horseshoes next to the road. I dont know where to get horseshoes to throw, unless I bring some from home. They need to bring back the ROCKET! Put a sign that statesNo bubble wrap parented kids allowed.

The playground was awesome. Really big and so much different things to do. The zipline and rope/rubber walking was neat. Even the adults were doing the zipline. They even had musical instruments too. We drove around the island and it had all sorts of places to adventure. People were biking, fishing, relaxing in hammocks, and eating at the plethora of picnic tables. So much to do, so little time.

Date of Visit 08/18/2018 - Seemingly clean park with a lot of area to explore with the kids. Not a lot of dirt hiking trails compared to other parks in the area. Would rate the park higher if there were more accessible maps - quite easy to get lost. Fairly busy park with multiple gatherings/weddings/etc.

It is an excellent park with an excellent selection of things for your child and you to either do together or by yourselves only problem is the park was designed for children 4 to 11 years old so its hard for new parents with younger children to find a good activity to do thats not dangerous for a 2 year old or 3 year old and the parents there dont seem to care that there kids are pushing and overall being mean to the younger kids but thats everywhere so 4 stars if it was for all ages 5 stars all day and dont forget to go for a walk excellent trails and a stream you can explore plus a base ball stadium right next to park you can also explore to an extent

Really cool Park you might call it a national forest preserve is huge and lots of deer and other animals. Every now and then you might get to see a fox. If you like to feed ducks if you enter from Water Street make your first left and go to the boat landing. There is always like a hundred Ducks there but remember bread is not good for them, bird feed, craced corn and peanuts they really like. Theres also a really cool secluded Chill Spot up by the train tracks if you have kids during the summer they can get on a little small train that takes you all through Carson Park. Plus the water is good to swim in. Also watch for the hiking trails.
