This place is absolutely beautiful. Totally feels like youre in a different country with the view of Detroit and Windsor at the same time and looking over the river into both. Highly recommend coming over here during sunset and just hanging out with a blanket.

Best view of the sunset in Detroit! Worth going at all times of the year and setting up (or parking in the winter) in different areas along the point. Each spot gives a slightly different perspective of the city and with the sun never setting at the same spot you’re always seeing something new.

A great view of the Detroit skyline and river. A nice place to watch river traffic and relax. The parking and restrooms make this a great place to start any visit to Belle Isle. The Scott Fountain is a short walk away and beautiful from this angle thanks to the reflecting pool and the cascade from the fountain down to the pool.

Belly Isle is a nice place for picnic, relax, running or cycling. Sunset Point is on the edge of west side. You can see US on one side and Canada on the other side. You have nice view on Detroit city.

A great place on the small island, You are just few meters far from Canada, stunning views of Downtown Detroit and Windsor, Canada. A perfect place for Photography. This place is not properly managed these days. We can see lots of trace all around this park. Restroom are closed and dirt everywhere outside of the building. Vending machine are not working and empty. Enough parking spot and awesome atmosphere. Nice place to visit. Good for everyone

A very spiritual, holy place.

Came for a wedding, unfortunately it wasnt pleasant weather ... It was an outdoor wedding and the restrooms were closed where it was ... We went to the Aquarium after for reception. ... my first time here ... I would like to come back on a pretty day ... Aquarium was nice ... pretty tile on the ceiling ....

Whenever you come to Belle Isle, this is a MUST SEE! You can miss the aquarium or the conservatory, but you can’t miss the skyline of Detroit and Windsor! It will give some great photos

Beautiful place to spend some quality quite time and soak in the Detroits skyline from distance. On the left side you can see Canada and on the right side you can see GM RenCen standing tall and mighty. Gives you a deep sense of nature midst of the busy concrete jungle and offers peace and quiet of a place far away from the metro cities. Traffic on the Belle Isle is very less, and you can find plenty of parking spaces to park your car. Also available at sunset point are a lot of benches and grills to have a quality picnic with your friends and family. Sunset point is fairly clean but keeping geese off is a big issue at this island. They tend to leave their mark all over the place. You will also find a great aquarium and a soccer club nearby. The Casino on the island is also worth checking out. The casino building has a beautiful façade and you can spend hours just marveling the beautiful architecture. The island also has a few play areas for kids all over the place. One place I wish they would have setup the kids play area should have been the sunset point.

What a nice place for experiencing both the United States and Canada, with an awesome view of Detroit. Pack a picnic lunch and go and unwind here.

I mean if you want to sit on a bench and stare at the water this is a great place. Cost nothing to drive out to and no parking fee but other than sitting and staring theres absolutely nothing to do. They did have somewhat clean bathrooms though.

Ever since the state took over Belle Isle it is so nice now. Clean, safe, just a nice place to go. Sunset Point is awesome for taking pictures as well as any place on the island.

This place is majestic! I at first thought this adventurewould be a waste of time but it turned out I enjoyed myself thoroughly! There was a very calming feel about the end of the peninsula and overlooking the water. I saw my first black squirrel which was quite strange to see at first being from Dallas

Great park went to visit family from Vancouver. Close to Downtown Detroit. If you go early usually its not busy beautiful views around. Great place to visit.

Great place to get some Sunshine but the restrooms are still locked for the season and Belle isle has not begun its Spring Cleaning being as though the weather is just starting to break.

There’s a heart beat, THUD {Gratiot}, THUD {woodward}, THUD {Grandriver}, THUD {Michigan}, blood extends through the main arteries...which there is life in the heart that extends life through the body. We are alive and growing. Sleeping giant. Detroit Land RUSH! The gold rush is only as the eyes see fit!! Beautiful peace. Life CREATES!

Sunset Point on Belle Isle is a destination must see for anyone that lives in or near Detroit, or is visiting for the 1st or 100th time. Even on bad weather days the view is awesome. On good weather days its awesomer. Picture this. The country of Canada on the left. The Detroit skyline on the right. A large body of water in the middle connected by the historical Ambassador Bridge on the horizon. Its awesome!

No matter how you put it you can change the name but it will remain the same Belle Isle is the name where all the good memories were accumulated there in the 80s and the 90s man Im telling you when I was younger I enjoyed going to the zoo there the small exhibits there having picnics with my family I even win under the bridge the tunnel I remember all that the island was the place to be now here in the 2000s Different Strokes definitely different folks changing the name and not giving it is Old Glory back is so many interesting things that went on there and now its just the memory I wrote through the island twice this year the scenery still beautiful will little animals they do have the zoo still sits vacant but I can still honestly say if you want a piece of mind and catch a breeze thats the place to be always and forever will be Belle Isle

I love Belle Isle, its a gorgeous park, designed by the same people that designed Central Park in New York. This has been a favorite spot for Detroiters for decades. A beach, picnic facilities, golf, nature center, fountains, conservatory full of flowers, canoeing, deer, so much more! Great place!!!

It is a connection point between US and Canada. Island is awesome. You can see both US and Canada very clearly.

Out of all the years of going to belle isle never imagined that this little corner called Sunset Point existed ..I was there visiting along with Crime Stoppers and others remembering some of the people we have lost in Detroit and throwing roses out on the river..what a wonderful little area..

My favorite location in the island to watch the sunset with an amazing view Detroit downtown. Since the State of Michigan took over the island, its cleaner and family friendly. There is also BBQ area at this side of the island.

Belle island is a very nice place to go and even better now with the level of security. Crime used to be high here not any more .

Definitely one of the best views of Detroit while still in the U.S. (Windsor has the best view). Well worth biking or driving over to this spot on a nice day. Good amount of parking spots as well, and plenty of grass to bring chairs and hang out.
