I love Palmer Park, Ive gone there since a kid. Nice place to have lunch or spend a few hours to Walk, Jog, Bike or just enjoy nature. I am so happy to see renovations going on. Pool is a Kids water park... I have a few Cons ; play areas needs to be Enlarged and upgraded... And not have a metal slide! More Pinic tables and Covered areas .. .. Well theyre not done with improvements so I will Wait until next Summer to give 5 * Yeah !! PALMER PARK IS DETROITS CENTRAL PARK
It needs money and love so dang bad. Beautiful space, tress. Always busy people having a good time but clean the pond fix the fountain. Get volunteers to help it can be a real jewel worth showing off.
Nice place to go walking. And the area look like is really improving a lot
Perfect place to go walking jogging bike riding or just to chill out and relax.
Great park for walking or taking the kids to play! Dutch Girl donuts is right across Woodward!
Underrated park with beautiful tennis and racquetball courts as well as some wooded paths and an historic cabin. Easy to miss or ignore even if you live in Detroit but you absolutely should not.
Absolutely perfect. Due to the Covid-19, we had to practice social distancing for our mothers memorial service. Palmer Park as always been a favorite of our family. It was a perfect location, beautiful spot, and we were able to honor our mother in the city she spent her life dedicated to.
A community friendly park. Nice tennis courts
I love the recent improvements and look forward to seeing future improvements! Great place to relax and take in historic fountains and other structures.
Wonderful natural beauty. Plenty of family friendly activities.
Very peaceful and fun! Nice updating coming through... worth the visit!
I love walking through this park beautifully clean park beside the ducks thinking they own the park.
Tricks and Treats depending on what your cruising for, very gay. Happy .
Its a great place to walk your dog! My dog loved visiting the horses at the stables!
Looks like a great park, some work being done on it right now.
Lots of duck waste, but that time of year, had fun flying my drone.
It was a great party its just not really a lot of lighting if youre there at night but other than that is so beautiful Park death wish they had more lighting at night
Beautiful park with so much to do. Great trails in the woods. Tennis, with kids courts. Playgrounds. Bike paths. Beautiful pond area. Love going there often.
Lots of good things happening try the Mint gallery for your kids they can craft some art in the colorful community building where the old pool used to be on Wednesdays its pretty nice
The park is looking nicer. Got a few things to do & look at.
This is a really nice park in Detroit. Park is currently under renovation for upgrades. I look forward to seeing this done. Picture I attached shows improvement plan. There is a playground for kids to climb all over. The pond has a walk way around it to stretch your legs. There were also dozens of ducks playing in the water. Its chilly out sho I was surprised to see so many. There are also horses kept to the left of the parking area. I think they may be city horses.
Wonderful..... I learned how to ice skate, golf and played baseball there. Also tennis.
Elections. Thanks Michigan you did a great job voting.
Nothing special. Improvements recently are great to see.
Very beautiful quiet areaWith a play area for kids
Thanks for the excellent exercises for assistance to help your community!!!
...Not a park a lot of people outside the area know a lot about, but its a BEAUTIFUL park!...
Great bike trails and also the dogs love to adventure around. The ice cream truck comes around for the kids and there is a farmers market every Wednesday
Well maintained and quiet. Nighttime is generally peaceful but beware if it is getting crowded.. Because of the dark and multipath layout. Flashlights or reflecters for after-dark hikers is a must and I like to see how it blooms in the day time and if there are any locally put-on activity options. Thank You Detroit City Commission for Renovated Parks*
Still needs upgrades to certain parts but a nice atmosphere overall
I absolutely love Palmer Park!! Its the best thing about living in Highland Park. Its legit right across the street from my apt!! Its a beautiful place to go walk around at. They now have bikes that u can rent to ride around the park as well. They have playground equipment for kids & a water playground as well. Theres tennis courts. U can BBQ and chill with family and friends. Theres plenty of benches to sit and relax on. You can walk around the water too. I suggest this park to anyone in Metro Detroit that is looking to have a good time with fam & friends, or even to enjoy some time outside by yourself. Palmer Park is such a beautiful lil gem in the city of Detroit
The park still need some lawn maintenance. The bathrooms are disaster. But it is a place to go within this city
Nice place to relax now that they cleaning it up
It was nice, ppl out having a good time.
Great Park to go and get your exercise just be very careful walking up Woodward for the traffic
Hidden gem. Great walk thru the woods. Only complaint is when the barbecue gets started the family will crank out the jams as if everybody in the area loves their taste in music. Sometimes it’s affected my peace. Bring headphones in case.
Great place to visit especially on market days on Wednesday from 430-730
Fun safe park a Detroit staple for sure.
Best place to go after dark lol
Great facilities and layout. Picnic tables, great parking. Needs TLC.
I love the park, the colorful people and the duck pond!
Beautiful park! Groundfest was awesome
Had a great time at the Palmer park winter fest! Our daughter had her first carriage ride! We watched children play the violin, and decorated cookies! It was a great time! Thank you.
Great for a place to have a lil lunch...
NICE PLAY GROUND AREA, PROVIDES GREAT QUALITY FAMILY TIME.
Beautiful park! Great scenery for those who bike and run/jog!
Looking good in the hood.
I only give it a free because theyre still working nits but theyre rebuilding go away in the housing the recreational activities cleaning up the forest so thats why I only give it a three plus they have a decent golf course 9 Hole if you like golf try it out its all different now than they used to be have a good day or try at least God bless bye.
Just hanging out with friends
Great place to clear your mind.
Nice trail run thru the woods. A distraction from running
I rode my bike through a trail that was bumpy, not realizing that there were bike trails elsewhere. It was fair, but park needs ground maintenance.
Good for exercising, very clean and safe.
Both playgrounds are modern, safe, and well kept. The splash pad is also a blast for kids and the bathrooms are clean enough. Litter is a slight issue, but the park maintenance team seems to work hard to keep litter to a minimum. Updates are being added, and the Park just keeps getting better!
Great family fun!!! Had my family reunion there and we had a ball. The splash park is ideal for all ages. The play area has lots of different features. The picnic areas a spacious and mostly shady. Great place and lots of fun for the whole family!!!************
Its okay for hanggin out etc
WONDERFUL!! Its making a comeback one step at a time!! Keep it up!!
Theres so many beautiful historic mini mansions. Its just a beautiful place to ride thru if u cant afford to live there!!
Great new tennis courts..
Full of bees... and saw an attack on a vagrant.
One of my favourite public spaces in Detroit.Spend some time meditating by the fountain. See if anyone has left offerings.
It was nice but no restrooms
I love all the new updates that has been added including the updates to the apartments that are inside Palmer Park. The only thing left to be done is fixing the roads. I will say though the crowd that is there now is a lot different than was in the past in a good way. The visitors are a lot more pleasant and courteous. This is definitely a place I would suggest you ride through when visiting the Detroit area
Always a good place.
Love walking out there
Nice park, Was very clean!
Very nice very clean, Splash pad is very toddler friendly...very colorful. Playscape makes the young ones think of how to maneuver through and climb. Nice sitting areas. Nice shed space. Many areas to park. Nice bike paths. Centered by many wage classes. Very diverse park. Golf course nearby i believe requires membership
Peaceful green space to allow for deep quiet ruminating all seasons and yoga outdoors in summer.
In two years, I suspect that this park will be back to its original glory. Theres currently a lot of restoration going on there but its such a pretty park. The art festival was very nice and its growing every year.
They have excellent police presence and I feel safe as I come home
Theyre do so much to bring this park back to its original Beauty.
Sadly run down but city just doesnt have the funds. A lot of trash and litter everywhere.
Palmer Park is a good Park to ride your bike up to, and Im round the park.
Nice historical park.
Trash cans where over flowing parking area was in bad condition it needs replacing bad.
Lots of space, lots of shade
Great place to walk, play tennis, and enjoy the park
You should know
Very peaceful. I got a chance to see horses. Thank you Jesus. My biological father grew up in this area and raised my half brother in this hood
Spacious, green, community friendly, acceptable upkeep
Very beautiful, and well maintained. Ive attended Ground Fest here the last two years and my only complaint is the minimal available parking spaces. Theres never enough, and people end up parking out on the streets and unfortunately in the bike lanes.
Not bad!! Could do a better job with cleaning area. had to clean entire shelter and area totally trashed!! We encountered a dead skunk stinking up the entire area. Kids put it in a bag threw it in woods. Smell left after..
This is a great park in the City of Detroit, the new splash park is my daughters favorite place, along with the rebuilt playground. Leashed dog friendly park, my pup loves to visit. If one likes working outdoors the community garden might be just the place. One can also see the Detroit Mounted Police at work there. The man made lake is a great place to fish or just walk around. There are hiking/ biking trails through the woods, and lots of wonderful wildlife. The park has seven Pokéstops and two gyms for those playing Pokémon GO.
Very beautiful park and clean. Will definitely go back. Splash park for kids was really nice too!
Very nice park. The splash pad & the playscape area are in perfect proximity. Very easy to watch the kids play.
I used to live here. Lately its been improving but that just means higher prices, for the same OLD stuff. Palmer Park could be a gem, but the people who own/run it, treat it like a juke-joint!
My childhood hoop spot and still to this day the run to be at
Not clean enough, trash in some areas.
Great Park in awesome community with clean bathrooms!!
Wonderful paths to walk my dog and we seen geese ducks lots of squirrels horse and lately deer
Great outdoor racquetball courts that I hope get more use. I love seeing a park become a place for the community.
