Best shape Ive ever seen it. Greens are nearly perfect, and fastest Ive seen them, revealing how undulated they really are. Hope they can keep these conditions up. Plenty of elevation change and some really well-designed holes. Traditional, old-school golf.

This is my first time playing this course in probably 15 years. They have really redone this course and it was great. It starts off with a nice par 5 and finishes with a par 4 up hill towards the clubhouse. The course has many holes that are up hill and downhill. The course has some tough rough. You defiantly need to stay in the short grass to shoot a low score. I recommend checking out this course and playing a few rounds. Happy golfing.

Very well kept course with nice staff! Only reason I couldnt give it five stars was a strong of complications I experienced trying to tee off. And I had someone come by and pick up 5 practice balls I was chipping with while I was waiting for my tee time. Granted, I didnt pay for a bucket but it was only 5 balls lol. Nonetheless, I will definitely be playing there again soon

Super friendly staff, the course is in great shape (at the time of this review), and its a little piece of golf history (1927 PGA location). The greens fees seem reasonable for a course of this caliber. Its a fun course that is wide open at times and more challenging at others. Bunkers are sparse but used wisely. The course has very few water hazards to worry about. The pin positions can be daunting on some holes (like today). All around I had a great experience at Cedar Crest.

Cedar Crest Golf Course is very neat & clean. Those people at Golf store are very nice & friendly. They give my mothers reception after her wedding on next month. They have a kitchen, tables & chairs to set up for wedding reception. You can bring a foods if you want too. If you have any question about reception. Please go visit to Cedar Crest Golf Course & ask Tamney Henderson at Golf store. She will help to set up for you. Have a bless day.

I view this as the best public course in Dallas. It has a tremendous collection of holes across interesting rolling topography. If you are a golf design nerd, it is one of only two Tillinghast courses in Dallas and the only one available to the public. It is very affordable. The course is usually in decent shape, with the speed and smoothness of the greens being the variable that seems to change the most.

Solid support staff and in quite good condition for a muni track. The greens are a little hard and overgrown, but keeps things consistent. A midday round during the week took about 4 hours and 15 minutes with a fivesome in front of us.

I am 4 classes (actually 3 classes because we were rained out) into a 5 class introduction to golf course with Director of Instruction,Tiana J.C. Jones. I have been playing the game for years, but she has already transformed my game. She is a warm and passionate instructor that I would highly recommend to anyone regardless of your skill level. I am already looking forward to my next teaching experience with her.

Was concerned after seeing nearby neighborhoods, but turned out to nestled in fairly nice area. For the price, an exceptionally nice and well maintained course. Challenging, but not too advanced to be enjoyed by the high handicapper. Greens and fairways in excellent condition, and the staff was friendly. Id highly recommend this course to anyone looking to not spend a fortune on greens fees, but still have a pleasant experience on a scenic, well kept course.

Tee Time: 4pm on Saturday.Round took just over 3 hrs to play, so pace of play at that time was excellent.Let me preface by saying that the greens on a golf course largely influence my overall opinion. With that being said, the conditions were overall poor. I went out there based solely on google reviews, and came away quite disappointed. Many of the greens have large patchy/bare areas. It just looks like theyre not watered at all. Out of the 18 greens, maybe 2 or 3 rolled semi-smoothly. The rest were quite bumpy and irregular. Plenty of sand in the bunkers, though the ones I visited were not raked or even (byproduct of playing late in the day). The rough was cut down and fairways tightly mowed with few bare areas. Tee boxes were in fairly good shape, if not just a little long.I enjoyed the layout. A lot of elevation changes throughout the course and a few water hazards.Overall, with current conditions, I wouldnt recommend the course to anyone. Again, my opinion on golf courses is strongly shaped by the conditions of the greens, and this course is currently failing in that regard.

Honestly, this is a hidden gem of a place. Im hesitant to write this review because I dont want others to find it but I cant help but praise this course and its staff. Especially Tiana Jones, who has been my golf instructor for the past few weeks. She is gifted at simplifying the game so that you can make drastic improvements to it. Thanks to Tiana, I have gained a whole new level of excitement for the game of golf and look forward to playing many rounds at this exceptionally maintained golf course. Thanks also to the staff for always having a great attitude and a helpful spirit at the 19th hole. I highly recommend that you check out this perfectly located golf course near Downtown Dallas and enjoy everything this place has to offer... Just dont tell a lot of people so that we can still keep it hidden for ourselves ;-).

Cedar Crest is a Great course. This was the first time I had been in 10 years since moving to Ft Worth side of DFW. . I was completely blown away at the shape the course - It was fantastic. The fairways were nice and green, the greens were very good. The sand traps varied at times - most were decent enough and thankfully I only had to go to the beach once! The Staff was friendly and helpful.I HIGHLY recommend everyone plan a outing at this great course. The layout is nice and the course has so much history.

The course used to be ok but it has turned into a goat ranch. It looks like they punched the greens a month or so ago and didn’t know what they were doing. There is very little sand in the holes and the greens are in horrible shape. It’s sad because this course has potential.

Review №58

Well maintained course. Service was friendly. Golf carts are in good condition and very fast. Putting green very small. No short game practice/warm up facility that I saw.Course design is difficult for the average golfer. Lots of trees and long holes. First hole is #2 handicap which can make for slow play right off the start. All par 3s are mid to long iron holes. Plenty of elevation changes make for difficult approach shots to small, undulating, and tough to read greens (probably due to grain).

One of my goto courses in Dallas. Cedar Crest is a lovely golf course in a not so lovely part of Dallas. Greens are hit or miss due to well documented problems with drainage. They have a great space for driving range practice, and a good sized putting/chipping area. Despite the drainage, and the neighborhood this is a great option for those of us not on a country club budget.

Cedar Crest is a classic old course with a storied history in south Dallas. There are wide fairways and deep ravines with some great old trees and some nice views of the Dallas skyline. The Marshall was a happy guy that seemed to enjoy our attempts at trying to get on the greens as much as we did. The staff at the clubhouse was very nice, too.

Ive always enjoyed playing Cedar Crest, love the layout and the staff are usually great, in fact its the Dallas course I have played the most. But right now the greens are in terrible condition. I just played the course this past Saturday 6/6/15 with a group, and we all agreed we will not play there again unless the greens are fixed. Shame the city is not taking care of the greens of this nice course.

Played this course today. If Im just judging the course, I give it 5 stars. Really fun and challenging. However, we ran into about 5 different 5-somes that were completely oblivious to people being behind them. There was no Marshall monitoring the pace of play and it made the round absolutely miserable. The cart girl went home around 4 and we didnt see her at all after the 7th hole. We quit with four holes left because there was a stack up of two 5-some on the tee box with another 5-some on the green. Im leaving with a bad taste in my mouth, but it has nothing to do with the course itself.
